It has alot of structure and form. this excert is just from their open solo section to the end. They are following chord changes very well. I just saw them last night. One of the best shows all year.
Hey, I was there yesterday (the same show but in the netherlands). It was amazing. I understand what u mean. But if saw the whole show and u were standing 2 meters away from his drumkit and u saw the sweat dripping down their faces u would understand and appreciate. If i were in ur situation I would have said the same, but experiencing it from that close really exposes the whole meaning the musicians have behind it. It was also different if put in context to the rest of the show.
@lordfesterbarkis By the way, it's not all too hard technically. Steve Gadd doesn't have amazing technique (though it is good), study paradiddle grooves somewhat thoroughly and you're there. he just has ridiculously good timing.

i can see it's technically hard and i respect the players for playing this amazing.
but there's just not enough structure in this music for me. it sounds too "random". maybe i'll learn to appreciate it, i hope i do :)
