I hear it's pretty much the exact same technology that Philips released under the name the "Philips Scuba". You can find those on ebay sometimes. The resolution is terrible. Don't pay more than $100.
I played with this for about an hour at the behind the curtains showing at E3 2005, it was really fun. I was so sad when Atari folded. But I have to say the Tramiel brothers were jerks, I met with them 4 times at the Jaguar editorial days in Sunnyvale and they were always really patronizing. We all did get free Jaguar stuff out the ying yang though and they always picked us up in a limo and took us to amusement parks. LOL

So let me get this straight...
A bunch of nerds got together in Germany to celebrate a game system that completely failed and has like no real following outside of the small group of nerds?
Grow up, get over yourself, and go get arrested for harassing women and girls at the mall like you always do, male bimbo. People are passionate for many things. Like you favoriting the closest thing to porn on Youtube, yet you basically say the Jaguar community is pathetic? Yowzers. Go steal a beer and watch reruns of football games. NOW you're ready for some football!
What are you 9? People have different interests, it's a shame you couldn't respect that. The Jaguar had huge potential, but failed for a variety of reasons and it does have a bigger fan base than you think. Calling them nerds just sizes up the stereotypical random troll as well as basically telling them to get laid. The community doesn't want to hear your unconstructive negative crap at what they like, what's the point? Stop trying to shine people on. You just annoy, not hurt.
Are you 8? Let's get real here. You see a comment made about a fucking VIDEO GAME and you get THIS upset? Do you not see the problem here? LOL.
You need to get over YOURSELF, because CLEARLY you take yourself WAY too seriously. I could see if were something important, but it's damn video game! Smh.
Whatever, keep crying. All you're doing is showing yourself to be in the prototypical target of my original comments.
Really? I wasn't upset nor crying just annoyed. Apparently you can't read. Seriously grow up, enough with the "LOL" crap. We get it, you make yourself laugh, go back to your boob vids. Stop trying to use what I said to try to make some stupid BS point. Poster of the video even told you to leave. And it's a game peripheral that was never released. Poster of the video even told you to leave. And if we're so pathetic, you'll ignore us. Or do you have to have the last word in?
Other than the cost at the time, the real reason VR never took off was the delay in response to motion control. The possibility of a lawsuit caused by seizure or epilepsy has scared the technology away. I played with a VR unit at a London show years ago and it disoriented me like crazy. In my opinion, all they have to do to make this fun, is make it so the LCD's can momentarily become transparent at the press of a button so that you can get your barrings.
I've always wondered why VR technology faded away with this and the VFX-1 days, I mean with current technology and motion controllers a VR game on the 360 or PS3 would freaking rock, or did they never get past the screens being so low resolution... (and a VFX1 was very expensive) 320x240 or something I think they were? I've only tried VR once, one of those big chunky polygon arcade machines that were doing the rounds at various places back in the early 90's, the effect was good still.
Was on the other side of the room when the JagVR was finally working. GazTee (the owner of the item) was glad that others got to see it and have a mess around with it.

Ummmm.... it looks a lot like the PHilips Scuba that I got later. I'll bet it's of the same quality too. The Scuba was pretty bad.

So the camera in the game moves when the headset is tilt? Cool.

I miss the Jag VR sincerely but I'm glad to finally see people get to play it and experience something they wouldn't been able to otherwise!
So what did everyone think of it that got to play it? Would have blown the Virtual Boy out of the waters, am I right? =)
