Ceadeus is definitely one of the more epic video game final bosses, but I wouldn't say he's the best. He's a liiiiittle bit under what I expect for difficulty in a final boss.

No doubt, my new favorite final boss/final boss theme. This is a monster like no other, an elder sea dragon. Since when has their been an Elder Sea Dragon for a final boss?! For a boss at that matter! The theme ultimately fitting for the true King of the Sea. If I see a top 10 best final boss in gaming histroy with the Ceadeus as #1, I will instantly favorite it and subscribe to that person. Who sees the Ceadeus as much as an epic boss as I do.

Its the final boss of the single player mode.

There is actually 3 final bosses for each mode of play.

This one is rather easy, it just a big pinata, the hardest part of this fight is keeping your weapon sharp haha.

The Ceadaus is the boss on single player

Jhen is the boss for Mh30 online

And the Alteron is the boss for Mh50 online, all the sweet items come from Mh31+.

All there fights are set up in a unique way that makes them epic and apart to normal monsters.

I repelled him with S&S. Quite easy since you can block attacks. But it actually depends on preference. I prefer quickness and good defence, and good evasion. Hence why I do most things with S&S and rarely die, and when I mean rarely, I do truely mean rarely. I have a wii if anyone wants to help me fight Alatreon online. I love fighting it, even though I get my bum wooped in the beginning but then I get mad... then I hardly get hit lmao! Anyway, message me if anyone wants to play online!

personally I use the spear lightning Lagia

I headed straight for his beard, it is easily destroyed.

Then I go over and then I destroyed his back and tail.

Finally when I reach the last area I just had to touch it once it loses its horn, when he gets angry he leave to go to the dragonator dragonator it moves into position shot dragonator then I charge it I give some shot and after he dies here is the 14/15min ceadeus died.

More accurately elder dragon, and considering there are some that are considered as such but don't exhibit dragon like qualities Ceadeus somewhat falls in that line as well. Body wise it's more of a laviathan mixed with the Jhen's physique. Basically more of a whale then anything xD

lance is the best weapon for ceadeus. I SUCK with lance, but i still use it on ceadeus because it is hands down the best against him. just get in front/under him, and keep poking his beard. when that breaks, he'll rush to the last area. from here poke his tail until it chips, and dragonate (asap)/ballista his horn off. then poke his face and dragonate again. afterwards just keep poking his face. DONT use the running atk it sucks and wastes sharpness. only use it to catch up to him if you're far.

@shourfo me i use a thunder long sword and i think it's good has the lance because: At the start i begin to charge my weapon (charge,charge,charge,FULL,att­ack,attack non stop to the zone 3) Then i use the balista to destroy is horn the dragon trap after this i hit all the destroyable part ok his body to finish him or to scare him. And i also use the final attack of the combo to avoided his/her attack. Bomb really help to :). Sorry for my spelling I'm not English

Yeah my friend used that wep. But he had different armor. But I would have used something way less good, but i played online way too much. So I just had good weps and armor to choose from. The alatreon lance was good though sense I had full Vangis Which gives Sharpness +1. I never had to sharpen and the Lance has good Drag element. So nothing really stood a chance.

he's quite predictable...he moves like the lagiacrus but is only much bigger and much slower...however if he opens his mouth wide open and draws in alot of water...MOVE OUT OF THE WAY before he hits you with a super painful big spread water jet that can be very VERY annoying. hit him with plenty of ballista and dragonator when angry...if you have a dragon element weapon *dragon phials with Switch Axe dont count...it has to be an Element phial with dragon* and you should be good..he's big tho...

@01Lagiacrus901 The Bolt Axe prolly wont be very good unless you upgrade so yeah. And he isn't that fast. But with how much you have to stop to heal (cause like with whatever he touches you with it hurts...) and sharpen things yeah it takes awhile to catch up. But no he is not fast.

and better the long sword hits often and fast, making it better (allows manuvering)

Ceadeus is by far my favourite elder dragon. Oh and for those people saying poking is better than charging. Why use only one? I always charge when its swimming to 3 and always poke when we're battling properly.

Same goes for regular large monsters, charge when they're running to a different area, charge when they're down, and poke the rest.

lol if u want the best way i found to kill this guy -

use a lance and have either sharpener or high sharpness on it and charge at his neck where the fur is. This allows u to glitch and get stuck while still charging and doing damage.

btw this is the way i found most effective, killed him in 7 minutes and only used dragonator once and nothing else.

@paullewis560 wouldnt he flinch at some point or just attack to break the glitch? I know that the spear charge isnt very powerful compared to its normal attacks. Are you using a high ranked lance? I prefer GS personally although havent come anywhere near 7min :S

1. He obviously didn't kill him the first try with this. He had damage left over from previous rounds. Otherwise he'd have to cut the beard to get him back to his lair. Already takes longer than 7 minutes

2. Stagger, rage, and the beam attack would easily break this

3. Stamina DURF

Even with Mega Dash Juice this ain't happening. Especially not in the first try with the lance charge.

7 mins was with a maxed out alatreon lance and full deviljho, so i did have extra attack and sharpness to help. to be honest i have not played MH Tri that much as it is my step bros game, but i have great MH experience.

Stamina was a problem, as it always ran out, sharpness also as the charge does take allot of it off and it wasnt on my first try as it was a later re-run.
