I think this series has some ties to Umineko and Higurashi. Sakunosin looks like Sakutaro from Umineko, Sakaki Yukari looks like an older Rika Furude from Higurashi. There is murder in all 3 series. There is something 'odd' in each series that sets it apart from real life, -Higurashi - 'hinamizawa syndrome', Hanyuu (guardian, spirit), different dimentions, XYZ rule-, -Umineko - witches, magic- and -Higanbana - yokai-.
