  • Three minutes is not enough to understand this theory.

  • haha

  • Please, don't do one with content on Nietzsche!

  • So the summary of my essay regarding Nietzsche's Master Morality and Slave Morality will just be "No."

  • lol that was awesome

  • @p4nchi5tu I'm not the only person who knows about Schopenhauer?! How is this possible???? (I mean, unless you know about the k...)

  • @THEMOONPOWERS well it is possible

  • @P4nchi5tu clearly

  • ??????????

  • what?! no?

  • I think it's time for some "Three Minute Science" videos.

  • Fuck Nietzsche; Wittgenstein is the only real philosopher ever, for he correctly identified the true object of philosophy---language itself.

  • The Ordinary Language movement has been philosophically dead for since the sixties.

  • @NiHuWi Not that i accept your premise at all, but regardless, what's that got to do with anything?

  • @Wittgensteinism

It means considering Wittgenstein, brilliant as he was, the end all of philosophy rather silly and presumptuous.

  • @NiHuWi That's not what i said. Nice strawman though. In fact, i would state it in reverse. It's not that Wittgenstein so much "ended philosophy" as he showed why it never started to begin with. Only with a Wittgensteinian understanding of language can anything like philosophy be said to have begun. Thus, Wittgenstein didn't end philosophy, he gave birth to it---the correct way to do it.

  • @Wittgensteinism @Wittgensteinism As a good Wittgensteinian, you should understand that my previous statement was not a strawman argument, but part of a particular language game in which statements like "Wittgenstein is the end all of philosophy" does not mean that Wittgenstein was the end of philosophy but, rather, can be understood as having a similar meaning to your claim "Wittgenstein was the only real philosopher".

PS: Chomsky's work has cast Wittgenstein's theory of language into doubt.

  • Brilliant!

  • why no to Nietzsche(hes was a fucking great mind along with Schopenhauer) and yes to that idiot Kant for example?.... i read about kant ... HES AN IDIOT !!!

  • Thats not fair!

  • nietzsche wasnt a propa philosopher he is certainly a leading figure in academics i just dont agree with everything about him i dont like the way university relativist post modern dummies have taken him completley

  • okay, Defeatist . . . attitude college binary; its okay to think now!

  • well . . . Defaetist . . . attitude college binary!

  • Defeatest . . . attitude college binary!

  • hillarious

  • Oh lulz. I guess I'll just have to look up Nietzche's stuff by myself...

So this guy was a real ass-hat huh?

  • @Ultermarto get audio books. i think Nietzsche is definitely worth reading despite what the guy below thinks

  • @YeTenuousUmbrae Yeah ... I was intrigued by this 'Existentialism' thing. Maybe I'll look him up in the library.

  • I think he's refusing to do a video on Nietzsche because the guy wasn't really a philosopher. Certainly not a good one, at any rate. Old Fred is actually a really pathetic figure once you start to learn about him. He was denied a career in the military because of his weak health and spent the rest of his life idealizing to the extreme the life of a soldier. He divided everything into masculine and feminine and vilified the feminine. Also he wasn't a nihilist, quite the opposite in fact.

  • What is the music at the beginning?!?!

  • @LotusMkV

The music in the beginning is

Mussorgsky - Night on Bald Mountain

  • "...on Nietzsche or God will smite you" Isn't that kinda self-defeating?

  • There is a weee bit more to Nietzsche than "no". Nihilism is but a small fraction of everything that he believed

  • @Jbo7536 He wasnt a nihilist. He was afraid people would call him that so he wrote "Thus spake Zarathustra".

  • I have about 8 questions about this vid and all of them are why !

  • Absolutely brilliant! Kierkegaard next, I'm guessing?

  • Fuckin'A! Love it.

  • Hahahahahaaa!!! Brilliant!

  • Fucking brilliant. xD

  • thanks a lot, now i will fail big time on my exam

  • @Itsverycoldinmoscow That's not CollegeBinary's fault...

  • Lord Russell!

  • For those of you who do not understand this video Nietzsche didn't want society to have expectations you all want him to do this video you set an expectation so when he refused he broke off of society's expectations the best way I can explain it. Xp

  • @jck7111 Conversely, while most of the other philosophers have at least a central motif,

concept, thesis that can be neatly summarized, if not completely certainly defined-Nietzsche being a philologist and neophyte psychologist (at least in his own estimation) traversed such a broad swath of areas it is not possible to do this-he is also one of the least 'liked' or understood thinkers of Philosophy -very few people have satisfactorily studied his work...

  • @jck7111 How is it that I spend hours reading about Philosophy an I miss these really central doctrines? Seriously after reading so much about Nietzsche all I got was the Will To Power and some mentions of a superman theory.

  • Also, HEGEL!

  • I.... I.... I think I love you.

  • peachy nietzsche

  • Nietzsche spoke predominantly in aphorisms and was more of a classicist who made observations than a philosopher. There are much better wankers out there to worship. :P

  • why should he be treated like this. was there nothing of value in his entire work. or you just hate him for his big ego, this video proves that you have even a bigger ego. or you cannot think beyond 2+2=4. logic??

  • Why would you to such a thing? Some of us are studying for our finals here!

  • aaaaaaaaw i like Nietzsche, but well played

  • haha, well played sir... well played

  • Diogenes of Sinope

  • Karl marx and Hegel please

  • Galileo said: "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them." We need to start working together to discover the truths of life that we all have in common. This is how we can unite and focus on our essential similarities instead of our dividing differences. Search for "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then click "The Present" to open it. What it says will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people.

  • By the way Nietzsche doesn't sound suspect to me, I don't understand why people would dislike him. A pessimist is detestable but I find this pleasant because they are happy while wet in the rain, that's a good thing. If you are a realist you wouldn't say nasty things, you're thinking of a pessimist. Maybe Nietzsche was a materialist, this is a stupid philosophy, I never thought it was rational. I ignore philosophies like that, that's just a paranoid fantasy (just an opinion).

  • Woo hoo! I get the third top row! I was starting to perhaps want to actually follow Nietzsche, man! I call it "the art of the truth", sounds wonderful, the truth is a nice thing to know, I see no problem with the actual truth, I see it that Nietzsche wasn't hurtful, he was being truthful, it's nice to know the truth, it's not a bad thing, it is actually nice to know you should have a war-free society but it wouldn't be nice to find out anything about trouble, if Nietzsche was bad then no no no!

  • I love you

  • Hahahahaha, thank you.

  • I can only imagine how many takes it took to get that line right. ;)

  • The perfect "No".

  • Best 3 min philo Ever.

  • so is he ever going to actually do it?! ahhh

  • his stache is way too small

  • WHY NOT

  • Damn you.

  • you should do karl marx

  • @aelneo

    Agreed.

  • Somewhere, an Ubermensch is crying...

  • looooooooooool

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • LMFAO

  • XD

  • Heh, he looks like he's wearing a hoodie.

  • i love nietzsche. i want a real one.

  • LOL feckin awesome!

  • KARL MARX :)

  • that was a shit

  • Nietzsche is a realist and people dont tend to like that because it makes them sad. Well i say fuck off

  • @IWhoCreate Even Nietzsche hated the idea of true nihilism. You can't blame people for wanting to create more with their life.

  • Nietzsche most certainly was not a realist. Read his aphorism "To the realists" in the Gay Science.

  • Nihilism is also a psychology and therefore neither true or false so it is not a contradiction.

  • That was funny as hell

  • well done sir

  • but.... but... why not? :´(

  • do nietzsche!!

  • Comment removed

  • haha ! I love it !

  • there isn't a need for nietzsche when most of his work has already been bastardized (and will continue to be bastardized) by every college-aged, radical atheist, pseudo-intellectual hipster around the globe

  • why the fuck not, doosh??

  • @burgerkingmurders: because CollegeBinary knows next to nothing about philosophy, but fancies himself a comedian.

He's shot his comedic wad, here, and has nothing more to say.

  • I once read from a book on 100 essential philosophers: "The man of power to helps the weak, but not, or almost not out of pity, but is prompoted by an urge which is begotten by the excess of power".

  • Nietszche was a genius in his own way but to me his work is quite disagreeable.

  • What's really rather pathetic is how many people think this was implicitly a description of his philosophy... rather than just denying the audience for the sake of the satisfaction. While that denial might itself be argued for, it's still bullshit.

Another case of a bunch of people who haven't read a damned thing, but think they know a philosopher perfectly.

  • @Kobywan007 Who says you have to read anything to know philosophy? It is, after all, the love of knowledge so any person who gains knowledge and enjoys doing so would thus be a philosopher by such a definition.

  • @kelsorocs3

As a philosopher, both in your defined category, and in academic pursuit... I agree. What I take issue with are those who claim to have a proper insight into the works of another, without having actually read (Read as in Read, not as in, "skimmed") anything of that thinker.

As an aside, context is a useful thing to possess, and I have found conversation with one who has read some philosophical literature to be much more satisfying and engaging than with others, who have not read .

  • Ironically, summing up most of Nietzsche.

  • LOL

  • GOTT IST TOT!

  • you already brought him up on plato's part. why leave us hanging?

  • "Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos." ~ Walter Sobchak

  • "or is it?" no...apparently it isn't

  • No. =)))))

  • Fucking love Mussorgsky.

  • Do one on Alister Crowley thumbs up so he knows.

  • youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu bastard. :D

  • nihilism is the truth but the truth is too much for you idiots to accept

  • @Innovater6 Nietzsche Fucked nihilism in the butt

  • @Innovater6 can you show me that please

  • @Innovater6 isn't that paradoxical?

  • hahaha boss

  • Troll.

  • DO VOLTAIRE

  • hahahahaha gold

  • This is the best yet!

  • jajajajajaja

  • Too funny!!!!

  • NO!

  • hahahaha THAT WAS GREAT!

  • haha :)

  • @IWearRed24 god fucked up when he made woman beholdent to mans light. for birth should be mans domaine. and father of all creation, and woman patch work.

  • Please, does anyone know the name of the first song? I mean the one before Nietzsche appears.

  • @RakanManson It is called 'A night on the bald mountain' by Modest Mussorgsky ;)

  • @snufkin789 hey!! thanks!!! really cool!! thanks very much!!

  • Geez...

  • I think it's funny that none of you can simply go to wikipedia and read about Nietzsche. These videos, however entertaining, aren't the only source of information on philosophy.

  • POR QUE???!!!

  • nihilism is true (even though that is a condradiction)

  • *makes 3 minute video*

    But why,,,

  • tease.

  • Preacher: "Order! Order! Dammit I said ORDER!"

1st townsman: "Nietzsche said, 'Out of chaos, comes order.'"

2nd townsman: "Aw, blow it out yer ass, Howard."

    ~From "Blazing Saddles"

  • If you don't get the joke, you dont get Nietzsche.

  • @WouldbeSage Umm, let's see. Cuz he was a nihilist?

  • @Paddydhistorian Nietzsche believed philosophy had become too hyperintellectualized, and too Apollonian (instead of Dionysian) in character. He makes some brilliant suggestions, but he refused to 'do philosophy' like most philosophers, so he often refused to elaborate on or clarify his views, and disdained the normal practices of philosophy. Given his views on attaining ubermensch-hood and keeping in touch with our primal natures, it's probably too crude to simply call him a nihilist.

  • @WouldbeSage Yes, I'm sure you're right. My understanding of philosophy (apart from some political theorists) is very minimal. Guess I'll stick to my field.

  • HAHAHA.....NO. I see what you did there.

  • Comment removed

  • Marx

  • MARX!!!!!!!!!

  • nice work so far...but what is the catch here? Do you think Nietzsche is responsible for the Holocaust?(Because of the Ubermensch theory of course). If so, then you "greatly" misunderstood him and the ubermensch theory. Sry for that!

  • This video is pretty lame....waist of time

  • @jessicavitiz You don't get it, then.

  • I knew that was coming! Once I saw all the people saying yes to Nietzsche, even I said no. Awesome though! It was this huge epic build up!!!

  • lol wtf

  • HAHAHAHA

  • I actually expected to see something about this guy, cause he appears on my exam... But no :(

  • Omg I hate this fucker. I've failed too many tests because I got a paper to talk about Nietzsche. Give me Plato, Aris, Aurelious, Thomas, Hume, Kant...anything but Nietzsche!:)!

  • @robespierre91, so he'll put together 3 minute segments for several profound philosophers, but then those of us who have obviously wanted to get one on Nietzsche, after much popular demand, as the video makes abundantly clear, have to be content with a smug British hipster going, "Nyoooo" ?

  • LMAO~lol

  • What is the meaning of this ? If you can reduce Plato to 3 minutes, then clearly you can do the same with Nietsche. O_o

  • @MauryaCadre It took almost a hundred years for philosophers to arrive at a general consensus on what the hell it was that Nietzsche was actually trying to say, and you just sit here on your fucking internet armchair and have the audacity to tell us that one could obviously sum up Nietzsche in 3 minutes. I'd like to see you attempt to do the same for Heidegger, or Wittgenstein.

  • WTF! I'm I supposed to think that shit was funny!? Thanks for wasting my time.

  • @MauryaCadre don't cry

  • lol to the 10th power....

  • I don't get it. Can someone please explain it?

  • This was depressing, Nietzsche is on my exam tomorrow and I was genuinely hoping for the video D:

  • Great now do Daumal

  • Can you please do a video about Marx?

  • He seems bummed out.

  • Nietzsche was a total bellend. Why anyone really cares about his philosophy I have no idea...

  • i was not expecting that

  • that soooo made my day!

  • How very... Nietzschean!

  • Yes.

  • by far the most in depth look at Nietzsche the world has ever seen

  • no!

  • Bertrand Russell hated the Atheist Nietzsche.

He thought he was insane, Nietzches last years were just that.

Hence Freds ode to a madman.

"There are only two ways of living, one is as if nothing is a miracle. The second is that everything is a miracle, I believe in the latter. --- Albert Einstein

"I used to be a atheist, till I thought I was God." --- John Lennon

    Nce wrk:)))))
