Light and color timming of the shots of the little girl down the hall with the red and blue gel seem off to me, like a lower budget's. The rest is just like the pros do! ..except for the soundtrack tho.
This was shot with a Panasonic DVX100b. It was shot at 24p and with the M2 Redrock 35mm adapter with a 50mm Nikon lens. I then Used Magic Bullet to color correct. I hope that helps! Stricken cost me 800 to make the ten minute award winning short.
matt let me ask you something from one filmmaker to another, what in your opinion is the best effects program to use (ex. after effects, encore, etc.) and why?
The best afforable option in my opinion is Autodesk Combustion 4. Second to that would be After Effects 7.0 Professional. In combination with those programs, you need a rocking 3D program like 3D Studio Max. If you know how to use it, Maya is awesome too. Finally you need a texturing and modeling program like Modbox. You also need a motion tracking program like Match Mover. The final touch would be the program retimer.
If you had Combustion or after effects, you could do amazing things, but if you could have: Combustion 4, Match Mover, Retimer, Mudbox, and 3d Studio Max...and learn how to use them...you could do anything.
It is going to be playing the 29th in New York at the Pioneer Theater, and in some festivals soon. It's local premiere will probably be in a theater in Oakhurst in a month-ish. Rate this movie people as once it gets 14 ratings, it is up for awards. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
It is a short looking for funding. i will probably put the short on Atomfilms...maybe here though...we shall see. I wish 4 more people would rate this so I could exist.
I SAW THE MOVIE! WOW! It scared the heck out of me and did it again when I was it the second time. The twist at the end is magnificent. Having a place to show and see the sheer talent behind this film is why YouTube is here. Nice job Matt Sconce! Give is more!
That looks awsome!

Well thanks a lot. I was the DP as well as the director. My philosophy was light well from the angles needed and work magic in post.

this trailer says nothing about the movie. Stop using so many words and start making something that holds attention.

I like trailers that show what a movie will feel like as opposed to telling you about the movie. Plot is for the movie to develop, not the trailer.
