The proposed system is apparently based on a rational approach to human needs; physical psychological and social. I'm an atheist simply because I don't need deity/deities to exisit for me to live my life. However, it still can't be prove whether there is a deity/dieties or not. With that being said the 2 largest religous gr. (Christainity and Islam) can be proven wrong because of the literature text provided in their holy books (which defies science). Money is not the evil any more than the alphabet is evil when it is used to make evil statements. It is a tool to account for value - though it has been severely compromised as a tool by the various illusions at work in our current world economy.
Money in its entirety and purpose is used for corrupt and abuse. It's like oil in the sense that by itself it's harmless but when given to humans it pollutes and destroys. Language is different because we can use it as a tool to commucate so it's neither good nor evil. Money can only fuel damage to the planet we have now. Its fuels endless consumpation in a finite planet and we are running out of resources. Do you see the problem?
Just today a man came over to my house unable to speak my language (he had a small piece of paper that said his brother was ill) asking for money. Of course I gave him some but I feel so uneasy and helpless in my pathetic attempt to help him. Money is the problem and yet we still need it. I don't want to see anyone unable get help, whether it is physical or mental, when they need it. The Zeitgeist movement has to start.

Jaquce Fresco has spent his entire life looking at ways to create a 'Utopia' and for us to live in symbiosis with nature. I can understand that it sounds to idealistic but thats only because we live in such a terrible system today that even the ideal of a healthy and sustainable society is insane and irrational. But these changes have to occur and I do believe that Jaquce has quarrled with the idea of using the culture we have today for change. But it simply won't work.

However, buildings and infrastructure can be repurposed even rather quickly and some of it eliminated. The inventory system that is discussed in the movie is already possible but not from one central place - instead from crowd-sourcing (like Wikipedia) from people everywhere. This cannot be a top down revolution and no one vision is going to take hold for every part of the planet.
Nor will one vision work in every part of the world without completely destroying diversity. As a general template, the Venus Project has merit but all construction workers know that you have to modify the blueprint to fit the land and the people/culture that are there.
That depends on what you mean by diversity. I mean if you are talking about cultural diversity it still has to change because some cultures allow violence and stupidity. Culture just amplifies the borders we created to keep others out. For example in the Middle East most women don't have any rights and are treated like abusively. Or in Japan where sexism is very high even though its a developed country. The role of this vision is the alternative to the system we have now.

We have to build a new city for that to happen because the infrastructures we have now only consumes more energy then actually participates in preserving it. It is a shame that this was not included at the end of the movie itself - which has had over 2.3million youtube views, where as this has only had 14,000 at the time of me writing.

Yes it can, but a person brought up in TVP/RBE will be a well balanced person, a lot less dependable and will have the ability to make reasonable decisions. I seriously doubt that person would resort to violence to solve the problem of jealousy.

Peter Joseph didn't understand one single thing about paul hawken book; which by the way it's called Natural Capitalism and it's excellent. He doesn't have the notion of capital and he doesn't get the thesis of the book. It says that the problem of today's capitalism is not the whole system itself but the way we currently account for capital in accounting practices. We are not yet recognizing the value of natural and human capital which are the ecosystems where we live and businesses operate.

The proposed system is apparently based on a rational approach to human needs; physical psychological and social. Unfortunately, it is irrational to discount the fact that the vast majority of humans believe in a deity and will therefore refuse to participate in a system that denies this most fundamental human sensibility. Just today a man came over to my house unable to speak my language (he had a small piece of paper that said his brother was ill) asking for money. Of course I gave him some but I feel so uneasy and helpless in my pathetic attempt to help him. Money is the problem and yet we still need it. Jaquce Fresco has spent his entire life looking at ways to create a 'Utopia' and for us to live in symbiosis with nature. I can understand that it sounds to idealistic but thats only because we live in such a terrible system today that even the ideal of a healthy and sustainable society is insane and irrational. But these changes have to occur and I do believe that Jaquce has quarrled with the idea of using the culture we have today for change. But it simply won't work.

However, buildings and infrastructure can be repurposed even rather quickly and some of it eliminated. The inventory system that is discussed in the movie is already possible but not from one central place - instead from crowd-sourcing (like Wikipedia) from people everywhere. This cannot be a top down revolution and no one vision is going to take hold for every part of the planet.

That depends on what you mean by diversity. I mean if you are talking about cultural diversity it still has to change because some cultures allow violence and stupidity. Culture just amplifies the borders we created to keep others out. For example in the Middle East most women don't have any rights and are treated like abusively. Or in Japan where sexism is very high even though its a developed country. The role of this vision is the alternative to the system we have now.

There is no money, no weapons and no class stratification and no leaders so I can't see how. "Communism" as it has been put into practice n history has always had those things so was never really communism. It essentially has never been tried. @Iamthenoi and as i said before a system can't be created and put to use based on an individuals ideea or a small group of people's ideeas it must be put to work if we had 50 research cities of 50 000 for 20-30 years under constant surveilance and try diffrent kind of social economic and political systems in those cities than yes we may find a better system than capitalism and teleocracy as democracy has turned today ,but we can't have a new system based on a movie or some ideas alone .

Peter Joseph is amazing. However, I would suggest taking the Venus Project's ideas for a solution with a grain of salt. A Utopian society can never coexist with human nature. Democracy is the way (not the corrupt bureaucracy which the USA calls a democracy).

This obviously is impossible. The claim is not perfection, just vast improvement and a diminishing of the things just mentioned. The only thing I wish, is that critical mass re-evolution would happen before I die, because I am getting older and very tired of what I have seen my whole life.
