A friend of mine just finished a iPhone App that helps the user learn math He's giving it away for free for 2 days on iTunes (ABTC Basic Calculator), and you can also watch a demo of it on youtube by searching ABTC Basic Calculator.
i did evrything good but the last part just esint working its 896 divided by 6 and the answer is 149 and i multiply 149*6 but 894 comes out look whach try it!!

Somewhat lacking in exuberance ; but clear, concise deliberative, and demonstrative with, checks and a distinct lack of "pausation"; meaning there was a clearly defined path to the sollution without jumpiness on the part of the speaker. Very very important to students with learning difficulties ADD etc. Very good job Might want a slightly larger work space in the future. Math to the resque let's save America and the world through life long learning Bravo!

I've been looking everywhere and can't find a real explanation of
the "long division" algorithm. I can of course use this algorithm (I
learned it looooong ago in elementary school) but what I'm asking you
is to "re-invent" this algorithm. I find it very confusing to know
that it works but not know why, and i'll bet you don't know either ;)
