I am also starting a workout program. One bit of advise that I have for you is to stretch after the workout. My nurse says that stretching after instead of before helps to prevent injuries. Another good exercise that you may want to consider is swimming. It is the best total body workout and since you don't have the shackles of relaxed hair you can swim everyday if you want. Good luck!!
@unlimitedblue1980 Hahaha yaaay no more relaxed hair keeping me from wetting my hair too often (even though when I was relaxed I cowashed every night so it would dry over night for the next day, relaxed hair doesn't look too good wet). Thanks for this comment. I try to stretch before & after & I call it my cool down period.
Uggh, I totally feel like I'm doing a commercial right now....but I joined Sunday and it has helped me stay on course because I also procrastinate and I can get lazy and go watch TV or web surf instead of exercising. But somehow seeing my nutrition/exercise information staring me in the face motivates me to workout and make better choices with my food. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck to you striving for a fitter lifestyle! Yay!!
we arent all "guys"...i notice you say that alot... Gender inclusive language would be best to use.
Words like "yall" or "You all" is gender inclusive... just to let you know.
"Guys" is not a general term, even though lots of people say that. Think about it, would you like for someone to walk up to you and say "Hey Guy!" ... lol so yea... jus think about it.
@tallnsweet198 I do say that a lot! Thanks for this constructive criticism. I appreciate positive, beneficial feedback. I'll try to refer to viewers as subscribers, youtube, or you all.
for me im a lazy person also, so what I do is during times when i'm not doing much like watching tv, I would try doing sit ups and watch tv at the same time.. or when sitting down suck your stomach in. basically when your not doing much do something at the same time..if that makes sense..lol
@NapturalSeduction I am SO lazy too. & that's a great idea you have. But, for slackers like me, I either have to really get into it or I'll keep procrastinating & putting it off. I'll be all, "Oh, I'll do some sit ups on the next commercial!" & the next commercial will never come lol.
since you're doing the treadmill walk/run thing, look into HIIT. High Intensity Interval Training. You'll find some routines that will involve sprinting for a certain amount of time at a certain interval and then walking for a certain and at a certain interval. HIIT is good for pretty much everything, not just treadmills. It's also perfect if you don't have that much time.
@threeblue I am about to google this right now! Thanks for the idea, sounds like something I would be interested in. Just like what I'm doing now but, more organized.
I HATE doing typical exercises. I have to make it fun or it's a no-go for me. If you ever get tired of the treadmill routine, some of things I like are biking (even though someone stole my bike *cries*), swimming, Wii, or jogging/running outside during the warmer months. Oh, and volleyball. I think it's easier when you 1) have variety and 2) have fun. You appear pretty thin already, but yay for being healthy!
@babeegurl2k7 Thank you for these ideas! Biking sounds SO fun! I'll try that for on the weekends. Sorry to hear about your bike's disappearance ): I tried some exercise tapes, I like them, I thought they were going to be wimpy but, they are no joke! I want to get a yoga workout DVD.
