Anyone who remembers the actual band from the movie should check out Swell Season, it is a duo with the red-headed guitarist from the movie. Low Rising is the song I recommend first.
It was'nt the best open air concert this one,it was a small event with a small stage, there was a few bands playing at it including Wolfstone, the only reason we were there.
The Commitments my fucking ARSE. A disgrace. There certainly was no black people in the band this is such a fucking rip off just trying to cash in on the name.
ahh, now i see. it's the band from the movie minus the real talent. man, would i be one pissed off mother fucker if i went to a commitment show expecting Andrew Strong and got this bullshit.
@bigmandoman - I am pretty sure that guy is way too young to be Andrew's dad, Andrew would be in his mid 30's today, that guy is in no way old enough. Plus, I don't care who he is, he blows dog, he's not fit to wipe Andrew's big Irish ass.
The Commitments (1987) is a novel by Irish writer Roddy Doyle, and is the first episode in The Barrytown Trilogy. It is a tale about a group of unemployed young people in the north side of Dublin, Ireland, who start a soul band.
That was turned into a movie in 1991.
Andrew Strong was the singer in the movie. The band is from a novel.
You guys shouldn't be using this band's name to promote this LAME act !!

This isn't even close. The singer sounds like Karaoke's worst nightmare. Andrew Strong would wipe his ass with this guy.
What an embarrassment, really the band is decent, but they should lose the fatass...he sucks...what a joke.

@willsabo Think you might find that's Andrew Strong's Daddy!
