  • IT's THE VOICE OF EDITH! No question . This is a studio recording from 1956

  • I know, I know, I just don't know how to change my video description....

I was told that as soon as I put it up, I made a mistake....

  • @Feareous you can change it there is a task bar when you enter to your video

and you can enter by going to "my videos" and you will see "edit"

    i wish i gaved you something new : )

  • i think this song was sung by either piaf or her voice "double" (i forget her name), not cotillard, although she does have a nice voice.

  • Oh thanks, I didn't even know that Piaf had a voice double!!!

  • one of the 'la vie en rose' DVD bonuses is a short documentary about the film, and they said they wanted to use piaf's voice for as many songs in the movie as they could, but some scenes were hard to do with just recordings. supposedly piaf's voice is so recognizable they couldn't use cotillard's voice because they wanted the character to be as real as possible.

  • That's weird. I have the DVD also, do you have a 2 disc DVD set??? Mine only came with one DVD and a little explanation of how they transformed Marion into Edith...I didn't watch the whole thing. The beginning was about make-up. Do they say that at the end???

  • oh, i don't exactly remember when. it only came with one DVD, so i think we're talking about the same version. i think the woman's name is jill aigrot, there's a video of her here on youtube

  • Cool thanks, I will have to look that name up!!!

  • did you think Cotillard did a good job?

  • As an actress...yea, I felt as if she deserved the award. I felt as if her character was a little annoying at times, but I think she pulled it off magnificently!!!

  • congratulations on 1000 views.

  • Thanks, finally!!!

  • In an interview she said that the only time she sang in the whole movie was when she was in a bar with her father, and that was only kept in because Edith was drunk in the film so her voice wasnt at its best.

  • That's kind of offensive to Marion Cotillard, don't you think? But I see what they're getting at.

  • It was Marion Cotillard who said it :-D

  • HI I'm french and i saw Marion Cotillard sang ...Milord in a tv show and that was really her featuring an real singer (sorry for my bad english) and Thanks for this video

  • Wow, you are lucky!!!

    And thanks!!! =D

  • ok , can somebody tell me when she DOES sing in the movie?

  • I'll try and look into it.

  • yes!! i will apreciate it!:D

  • Marion Cotillard does not sing in the entire movie....All of the songs are by Edith Piaf and her original songs.

  • well , i think most of the songs are sang by edith , but marion doesnt sing!?

  • Nope not the entire movie...

If you look up her after winning oscar speech she sings a bit...

    =)

  • she sings in one scene when she goes to see her father and she is drunk, not taking it too seriously. everyone is egging her on. otherwise all is sung by the little sparrow herself.

  • Thanks so much, I couldn't figure it out. I guess I will have to put up that song too.

    8-)

  • i'm dying to watch this movie

  • This isn't her singing... you know that, right?

  • That really isn't her. I thought it said it was on the CD, oops. Sorry.
