  • They were always amazing but live, they had an incredible energy that came through in songs like this. And I can't remember a bunch of guys who seemed to have as much fun performing did as they did.

  • Awesome.

  • This studio recording was what it was supposed to sound like to them . The sound engineering was epic . it seems to me that they lived their lives in the fashion of that song . Life can be short or can last a long time . Demons and luck can prey upon us .Their music will generate pure pleasure for as long as we can retain music in our world.

  • @WDLincoln1

    You make some excellent points.

  • I like this live one better than the Last Waltz.

  • Just watched The Last Waltz the other day and I can't get enough of The Band, their so great!

  • Awesome as always...love THE BAND!!!!

  • its all bottom with these boys, great bass sound.Too bad RobbieRobertson got in bed with AlbertGrossman and turned his back on the Band. All for money.Hard to believe the Band couldve been more productive but ya never know.Lavon `s PoorDirtFarmer was a great tune.

  • I am still amazed that people think they could do a better version of any these songs...

  • this has the higher quality sound that makes it a preferable version to listen to.. and it is live too .. amazing.. they are great!

  • Yes and check out the version i put up from SNL. A few months before they did The Last Waltz. Is that the same horn section? Awesome song.

  • Best Life Is a Carnival they ever did. It was the first time they had the great horn section backing them.
