Please help! Two questions: I copied a guitar part from my computer but the timing is not in sync with the sonar drums. How do i get them to match up? Second, I have the guitar track and the sonar drums on two seperate tracks. How do i make a second track for drums when the chorus of a song starts????? THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!!
what fliter did u use to make that sound can u also do that with voice?? cuz i just got this program and im making freestyles and i rele want to learn how to use it good
can people help, i have suffered at the hands of cubase sx2, which on sale cost as much as sonar,, track 2 goes out of sync, i am not sure about this one, it sounds shaky
It's not necessarily meant to be a cover. The night that I created this I was just messing around with my guitar, and after awhile of playing I noticed it kinda sounded like the song Apologize. So from there I took off, and this was the ending product. If you didn't like it then any constructive criticism you have would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, that was a reply to albchristian, ut didn't appear underneath :\
Um, ok... so it started out as your own thing, but in the end, it became a cover, yesh? (um... reading the intro comment on the vid kinda suggests it lol)
Your guitar work is nice, but as other people have already said the percussion is a bit off, stylistically. You know this already. Also I think a few notes missing here and there (Coincidentally, have had the One Republic album playing in my car for the past week) :)
hey nice cover. question, I got cakewalk sonar produver a while ago an all of a sudden when playing or recording it started scrolling by increments rather than just following along with the song, do you know how to change it back ?
it seems to me that you have something very wrong with your setup on sonar, just look at the timemarker.. you should try to change some of your buffer sizes, change drivers or something. I think it is strange that you got sonar 8 that is a very pro sequenser software but you still dont know have to set it up. I believe this is a pirate version
Ive been using Sonar 3 for a long time, and just upgraded to Sonar 7, have to say the interface is a little more convoluted and alien than before, I hate the floating transport+ bar!
satla inc, has become a legend since 1935, in these days satla inc. there are few many people who survived this uniqe and special sounds that comes from the speakers, (some cheap speakers cannot make you hear this sound)
Sorry my friend but the only way your going to learn a program like this is to actually buy it, or if you know someone then go tinker with there set up.However I can recommend a program like Audacity that is very user friendly, and it's open source which is always a plus in my opion! :)
hi there i have a question . am using sonar producer 7 ? i need to figure out how to monitor the overall levels of all the channels to prevent peaking i had a look around and the master channel is not going up or down during playback. am i mising something ?
I've heard, and seen, that Sonar 7 has great virtual instruments, but does it come with a keyboard to actually use them or do you have to buy one separately?
Do you jhitchcock03 prefer Cakewalk over FL studio? :p I find it FL studio extremely hard to use, I remember a "toy program" called e-jay when I was kid it was easy drag and drop things but IMO that was just for kids, is Cakewalk anything close to this? I enjoy R&B mostly! By that I mean is cakewalk easier than FL studio? I would like to make a beginning with this, so not sure which of the software I should try out. But cakewalk is in my mind currently :>
FL studio is nothing compared with Sonar. Sonar is far more superior in every aspect. The latest Sonar installment has at least 64 bit, while FL Studio can get up to 32 bit at maximum. I had FL Studio before I went on to Sonar, and I know I had hard time. Sonar is definately going to bust your balls when you come from other programs like FL Studio, but in the end I must say it is worth while and your production will sound 10 times better then FL Studio ever will.
i stand by your comment with sword and shield. Its true guys.. FL is a toy.. (don't get me wrong it can do serious damage in the right hands)...reason + sonar are dangerous.
Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one running this setup. Sonar's immensly powerful MIDI tools + Reason as a hence synth rack with powerful automation and you're almost there. Add Sound Forge and Recycle and there's very, little you can't do :D
Say I wanted to record a song using one of my Motown Original Artist Karaoke CDs(or any other CD for that matter)on Sonar 6(or Sonar 7)how would I do that?
What is wrong with you people? The one thing most worth while on this program is the musical staff. Maybe that guitar fingerboard they added would be useful to help learn about music as well. I think the nit wits call it a fretboard. Learn music first. Then, worry about recording it, ANALOG. Good luck :)
Be warned if you argue with me you will lose. Give it ago if you wish. :)
Ok I really don't mean to be an asshole but umm...What the fuck are you talking about?I really don't understand what point you are trying to make other than you think the musical staff is amazing.Well understand that I wasn't demonstrating the program, or anything.I just wanted to post my version of the song. So I ended up putting a recording of the song with the final master tack in stereo. So if you could please clarify what point you were trying to make that would be great!
No I didn't.I was actually using a Linux based software that my buddy created.I was just beta testing it.I'll agree though the drums do sound like crap :/....Oh well I have 4 finished songs I'm gonna be uploading sood, and I did use session drummer in them so it should be interesting.
What do you mean tune it up a little???It is a little slow but it's meant to be that way.I was trying to capture the emotion of the song but whatever it took me about 2hrs to make.So not alott of time was really put into it.
hey, thanks man...i really like your guitar work. Yea, sonar is absolutely incredible, probably the best sequencer ive used...u should check out my video for rihanna's song.
its hot man, if you got your drum game up you would be sounding professional. holla at me if you have any quest, i'd be glad to give you tips on drums
Thanks everyone again for the awesome feedback! I've been getting alott of messages asking me why I didn't record live drums, or use Session Drummer.Well when it come to me playing drums again I'm not quite there even though this songs plays relitivly easily. The reason why I turned sessions drummer down was because a buddy of mine showed me a cool little program were I can use my guitar as a "drum machine" so at the time I was experimenting with that.
I'm using a boss gt-8.From there I just tweak it with Sonar, but as far as the sound I created. You would just have to mess around with your gain, reverb, and delay. However if you have the gt-8 I will be more than glad to send you a copy of my settings!
Thanks everyone for the feedback.I currently don't have my drum set at my house, and personally I don't think I'm quite ready to release my drum material but eventaly I will be better ;).Keep up the feedback everyone because any opinions, and tips are much appreciated!
I think everything sounds great except the drums. I think it would have helped if you actually used live drums. Thats what timberland does anyway. Keep up the great work
and btw, that was awesome version u did! i like the guitar part i reminds me of TOPGUN!!!

What a shame music has become. Timbaland didn't write the song, give credit to the actual songwriters where it's due.
ahutt59 2 years ago 2
I wouldn't be suprised if he did write it (Or at least have a big part in it). He plays guitar himself.

Timbaland did not make apologize. He did make it more popular by remixing it though. But the original with the piano and violin was much better.
NathanLee0921 2 years ago
drums ruined it, missing bass drum triplets and just overall bad samples. the rest is great though

Agreed, the guitar is awesome, but you could do with a better choice of drum sounds!
