  • and btw, that was awesome version u did! i like the guitar part i reminds me of TOPGUN!!!

  • this is klass pitty bout the skipping and all that

  • cambia de drums , q suenan como si estuvieras tocando en un bote de pintura.

  • Can u tell me which distortions is? Vst or Pedal..??

And.... some plugin for get my sound better?

  • what fliter did u use to make that sound can u also do that with voice?? cuz i just got this program and im making freestyles and i rele want to learn how to use it good

  • fuck FL!

  • 2 rite, gettin sonar homestudio xl fr x mas, cakewalk rocks

  • Will Cakewalk work with a Berhinger U-Control interface?

  • Fl studio is way better and easy to use .

    pizz

  • Ofcourse its easier to use, because its a kidstoy.

  • and btw, i havent installed SONAR yet soo i dont know shit about it :P have you played this, for real, and just recorded ?

  • awsome gitar ! :D but the beat is just sad -. - kinda ruined it.

  • @DeadlyPaperBag i had a gitar once but then i sold it and bought a guitar

  • @theo7491 LOL! right ;)

  • Pretyy DOPEE.!!!!.....on the sonar can u upload music from ur computer like instrumentals and just Rap dem off.?

  • yea you can

  • What a shame music has become. Timbaland didn't write the song, give credit to the actual songwriters where it's due.

  • I wouldn't be suprised if he did write it (Or at least have a big part in it). He plays guitar himself.

  • can people help, i have suffered at the hands of cubase sx2, which on sale cost as much as sonar,, track 2 goes out of sync, i am not sure about this one, it sounds shaky

  • Timbaland did not make apologize. He did make it more popular by remixing it though. But the original with the piano and violin was much better.

  • drums ruined it, missing bass drum triplets and just overall bad samples. the rest is great though

  • Agreed, the guitar is awesome, but you could do with a better choice of drum sounds!

  • needs serious quantizing

  • Again that would be the fps being to low when I recorded my desktop....It drives me nuts too.

  • Again that would be because of the low fps I recorded this at...It drives me nuts every time I hear it skip.

  • Only the rythm is your work. The colone of the apologise is not ypur work you have downloadet it from the internet.

  • I would really love to see some proof to your accusations...

  • What the hell? lol It's meant to be a cover! :\

  • It's not necessarily meant to be a cover. The night that I created this I was just messing around with my guitar, and after awhile of playing I noticed it kinda sounded like the song Apologize. So from there I took off, and this was the ending product. If you didn't like it then any constructive criticism you have would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry, that was a reply to albchristian, ut didn't appear underneath :\

Um, ok... so it started out as your own thing, but in the end, it became a cover, yesh? (um... reading the intro comment on the vid kinda suggests it lol)

Your guitar work is nice, but as other people have already said the percussion is a bit off, stylistically. You know this already. Also I think a few notes missing here and there (Coincidentally, have had the One Republic album playing in my car for the past week) :)

  • hey nice cover. question, I got cakewalk sonar produver a while ago an all of a sudden when playing or recording it started scrolling by increments rather than just following along with the song, do you know how to change it back ?

  • press pause break key. This shows P on n status bar, press same again to remove. Its to do with saving cpu power on screen updates if needed.

  • Good job man stay on it!

  • Will do, Thanks!

  • I like your playing on the lead guitar. Should have lef t the percussion out altogether though, it gets well annoying. Nice try tho, Keep at it!

  • Hey thanks man.Yea the percussion were definitely NOT the best but it was fun either way. Thanks again.

  • it seems to me that you have something very wrong with your setup on sonar, just look at the timemarker.. you should try to change some of your buffer sizes, change drivers or something. I think it is strange that you got sonar 8 that is a very pro sequenser software but you still dont know have to set it up. I believe this is a pirate version

  • Ive been using Sonar 3 for a long time, and just upgraded to Sonar 7, have to say the interface is a little more convoluted and alien than before, I hate the floating transport+ bar!

  • You gave me a bad rating because I didn't sign on for awhile and couldnt answer your question...Sorry sir but I believe you should have a -1 pts....

  • does sonar has a wrapper for other music studios like Reason?

  • What do you mean by a "wrapper"?

  • a Rewire

  • Yup. I run Sonar and slave Reason to it.

  • satla inc, has become a legend since 1935, in these days satla inc. there are few many people who survived this uniqe and special sounds that comes from the speakers, (some cheap speakers cannot make you hear this sound)

  • So may I ask what you are implying?I'm not sure how to take this....

  • ableton live 7 or sonar??????

  • its ableton live 7

  • huh?

  • any tutorial wich you can buy?or download?? to learn this software??

  • Sorry my friend but the only way your going to learn a program like this is to actually buy it, or if you know someone then go tinker with there set up.However I can recommend a program like Audacity that is very user friendly, and it's open source which is always a plus in my opion! :)

  • what program lets you record your desktop???

  • hi there i have a question . am using sonar producer 7 ? i need to figure out how to monitor the overall levels of all the channels to prevent peaking i had a look around and the master channel is not going up or down during playback. am i mising something ?

  • views->console

  • Did you sort this? You have to set your track's output to the Master channel, then set the Master to your soundcard bus...

  • Good sounds. the guitar is a little pitchy

  • reason is my personal favorite. I've been looking for something new like sonar 7

  • I've heard, and seen, that Sonar 7 has great virtual instruments, but does it come with a keyboard to actually use them or do you have to buy one separately?

  • you have to buy your own......

  • Reason kills all the program beat making competition...get 4.0 ITS THE BEST!

  • Do you jhitchcock03 prefer Cakewalk over FL studio? :p I find it FL studio extremely hard to use, I remember a "toy program" called e-jay when I was kid it was easy drag and drop things but IMO that was just for kids, is Cakewalk anything close to this? I enjoy R&B mostly! By that I mean is cakewalk easier than FL studio? I would like to make a beginning with this, so not sure which of the software I should try out. But cakewalk is in my mind currently :>

  • FL studio is nothing compared with Sonar. Sonar is far more superior in every aspect. The latest Sonar installment has at least 64 bit, while FL Studio can get up to 32 bit at maximum. I had FL Studio before I went on to Sonar, and I know I had hard time. Sonar is definately going to bust your balls when you come from other programs like FL Studio, but in the end I must say it is worth while and your production will sound 10 times better then FL Studio ever will.

  • i stand by your comment with sword and shield. Its true guys.. FL is a toy.. (don't get me wrong it can do serious damage in the right hands)...reason + sonar are dangerous.

  • Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one running this setup. Sonar's immensly powerful MIDI tools + Reason as a hence synth rack with powerful automation and you're almost there. Add Sound Forge and Recycle and there's very, little you can't do :D

  • Say I wanted to record a song using one of my Motown Original Artist Karaoke CDs(or any other CD for that matter)on Sonar 6(or Sonar 7)how would I do that?

  • You would have to convert the song to an mp3 format then import it into cakewalk, and that's it!

  • whats a good program were you can add voice plugins to chnage ur voice? like for example the T-Pain effect..anyone kno of any programs?

  • cakewalk!

  • did u record all the guitar?

  • yes I did.the two tracks you see playing are the mastered tracks

  • can someone make a video on how to mix hip hop vocals in sonar 7 just got it and i have no clue

  • What is wrong with you people? The one thing most worth while on this program is the musical staff. Maybe that guitar fingerboard they added would be useful to help learn about music as well. I think the nit wits call it a fretboard. Learn music first. Then, worry about recording it, ANALOG. Good luck :)

Be warned if you argue with me you will lose. Give it ago if you wish. :)

  • Ok I really don't mean to be an asshole but umm...What the fuck are you talking about?I really don't understand what point you are trying to make other than you think the musical staff is amazing.Well understand that I wasn't demonstrating the program, or anything.I just wanted to post my version of the song. So I ended up putting a recording of the song with the final master tack in stereo. So if you could please clarify what point you were trying to make that would be great!

  • Sonar is the best program for audio editing and mixing. Ive been using it for 8 years, cant wait for Sonar 8 :)

  • Definitely.Best program ever that I've used...

  • Everything's good except the drums - they sound like shit. Did you use the step sequencer for them?

  • No I didn't.I was actually using a Linux based software that my buddy created.I was just beta testing it.I'll agree though the drums do sound like crap :/....Oh well I have 4 finished songs I'm gonna be uploading sood, and I did use session drummer in them so it should be interesting.

  • iz a lil slow for me and i wud tune it up sum how

  • What do you mean tune it up a little???It is a little slow but it's meant to be that way.I was trying to capture the emotion of the song but whatever it took me about 2hrs to make.So not alott of time was really put into it.

  • I can't save my project,

Do you know how I can save the project?

It's not a file that I can open on Windows media player.

    Nice vid!

  • does anybody know if it comes with boost 11

  • I've been thinking about getting cakewalk. is it good for a beginner to start off with. hows the learning curve?

  • hey, thanks man...i really like your guitar work. Yea, sonar is absolutely incredible, probably the best sequencer ive used...u should check out my video for rihanna's song.

  • its hot man, if you got your drum game up you would be sounding professional. holla at me if you have any quest, i'd be glad to give you tips on drums

  • Thanks everyone again for the awesome feedback! I've been getting alott of messages asking me why I didn't record live drums, or use Session Drummer.Well when it come to me playing drums again I'm not quite there even though this songs plays relitivly easily. The reason why I turned sessions drummer down was because a buddy of mine showed me a cool little program were I can use my guitar as a "drum machine" so at the time I was experimenting with that.

  • oh...that sounds interesting...whats that "guitar as a drum machine" program???

  • is there a way to emulate guitar sounds on the program....im tryin to fingure it out and i want the same guitar sound you used

  • I'm using a boss gt-8.From there I just tweak it with Sonar, but as far as the sound I created. You would just have to mess around with your gain, reverb, and delay. However if you have the gt-8 I will be more than glad to send you a copy of my settings!

  • get a software plugin, etither amplitube 2 or GTR3

  • Great Guitarwork indeed, but i also think u whould work a little more in the drums! Gj m8!

  • Thanks everyone for the feedback.I currently don't have my drum set at my house, and personally I don't think I'm quite ready to release my drum material but eventaly I will be better ;).Keep up the feedback everyone because any opinions, and tips are much appreciated!

  • why didnt u use session drummer2?

  • I think everything sounds great except the drums. I think it would have helped if you actually used live drums. Thats what timberland does anyway. Keep up the great work

  • smoooooth guitar work; my compliments 2 U !!!
