this kind of programming is absolute gold compared to what Italian TV produces...If anyone wants an example of how you can turn a land with a rich history into a place where uninformed morons elect vulgar thieves to power, turn on any channel in Italy (they are all controlled by the same person anyway...).

Thanks for sharing britishpatriot001! As with everyone- local programming here in North America is just absolute trash nowadays. The History Channel, Discovery Channel, A&E and TLC have all been overrun by trashy reality shows. Thanks for this bit of brain food.

A peasant revolt "from out of nowhere"? Is he really saying that the English knew nothing about the Jacquerie in France 23 year previously (which was sparked by the English defeat of the French and capture of John II, after all), or the rebellion in Flanders right across the Channel from 1323 to 1328? And the only relationship this has to the French Revolution is that it was in the Western Hemisphere. I like Jones, but two minutes in and this is absolutely misleading crap, not history.

@jackal59 The fact that there were peasant revolts in nearby countries doesn't necessarily mean the english crown would expect it to happen on home ground. If you wish to make a point you'd better digg up more pertinent information.

Quality is terrible during the battle scenes but it's cute. I like it when they spend more time telling the story than worrying about something blowing up every 5 minutes. I love British Television. American all we have is Hannah Montana and Twilight. -_- No quality

History Channel wasn't that bad before. It was good channel before year 2003... time before ice road truckers and other similar shows.

While I agree that the History Channel is typically shit these days, I first found out about Terry Jones' Medieval Lives when it came on the History Channel early one Sunday morning several years ago.
