You know, I think i finally figured out what makes Jackie's voice so incredible. When she uses vibrato, she uses her mouth, instead of her vocal chords. Probably because of her age and the maturity of the vocal chords. However, it makes for the most beautifully subtle and smooth sound. when you listen to her with Katherine, you can really hear it. Not that Katherine isn't amazing herself. As I go back and listen to her solo performances, I really notice it now.

Katherine Jenkins has a great voice. But Jackie Evancho is A Great Voice. As in, one of the great voices of our time, easily on a level with Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti. At ten years old, she has a range that trumps even top-ranked professionals, and a clarity that is almost unmatched. As long as her voice holds out, she will be one of the Great Voices of ALL time. It doesn't hurt that she's cute as anything, and bound to become a devastatingly beautiful young woman in a few years.

Gorgeous duet. Can't understand why so many people are being bitchy about the performers trying to outdo each other. It's nothing of the sort. They're different people with different voices and ranges. Jenkins is a mezzo soprano with so much more vibrato that the child, (her voice will take another 25 years to mature!), but its beautiful all the same. Just enjoy the sensation of hearing them together. Happy Christmas.

Jackie sang this 10 times better with the Canadin tenors it was so soft with smooth affectionate from both Jackie and the tenors. Jenkins sang it like she just wanted to get it over with. No heart in it like Jackie, Jenkins tried to get her voice to reverb like Jackie's, bad desiderative move on her part. Jackie has reverb down pat.

It's so rare for an artist doing duets not to try to out-perform the other but Jenkins really was 'supporting' Jackie and at points where I know she can be more full-on with her voice as well as higher, she toned it down as well as in a lower pitch just to emphasise Jackies higher pitches. That's really nice of her.

Jenkin's lower notes are 'rounder' than Jackie's and to me that makes them not as clear. I was trying to tune her out so I could hear Jackie's crystal clear pitch and tone. I like Jenkins alone, but her voice seemed to 'get in the way' of Jackie's voice. I agree that Jackie shouldn't do many duets, but when she does...they should keep the 'together time' to a minimum. Not fair to other artists :) Respect Jenkins at the end though...very sweet and genuine to Jackie.

Jackie was so sweet to and and about Brightman while the older woman went on about how she hopes Jackie doesn't ruin her voice by starting so young (or something like that). Jackie came on the stage of AGT and became a professional at the first word of the song. She had the best voice of any singer I had ever heard.

She appears to have complete understanding of each song that she conveys through her facial expressions and graceful gestures. When she performs, Jackie makes me feel the songs on some subliminal level because SHE understands them. I am also in awe of any child who can have so much poise on stage. The only singers whom I have felt belonged on the stage with Jackie are the Canadian Tenors

@LibertyFreedom1995 Ummm...no they don't. Jenkins' vibrato is very tight and fast while Jackie's is wider and slower. IMO Jackie sounds much better in the high soprano octaves than Jenkins does but that's just my .02. You might disagree which is ok too. :)

It's stage makeup. Performers ALWAYS wear stage makeup. ALWAYS. It doesn't matter if they're 3 years old. Men wear it. Little boys wear it. (When they're on stage) It doesn't mean anything. It's not like going to a school dance with makeup on. It's just there to prevent your face from looking washed out and ghostly under the stage lights. As a 12-year-old male ballet dancer, I wore stage makep.

Well, stage make-up artists don't always do the makeup as well as they should. All I'm saying is, "It ain't no thang!" :) Jackie isn't exactly a superstar yet so she probably doesn't have her own makeup artist. I would bet she used Katherine Jenkins makeup artist who obviously has a certain way of applying makeup and doesn't know any better.

It's just a performance. It doesn't mean anything. So there's no need to make a big deal out of it?
