nissan have better engines, easier to modify cheaper to modify and more reliable, this information is from a mechanic and he says that the hondas ge gets into his shop have far worse problems than the nissans.

@REPOMAN24722 I don't think so I love nissan but I also own a civic SiR let me tell you this... you can not find better deals on parts for any car other then the civic! There are also many mechanics that have experience with hondas and charge very little for labour. I got a clutch installed in my civic for 150! For my maxima a shop wants $500-600.. I guess it depends what nissan you're talking about but I would say honda is more reliable and there engines sip fuel! nissan engines are gas pigs

@AquAcid I can get 400hp out of my nissan pulsar sr20de for $1000 aus and my mechanics say that its easier to mod a nissan, its hard just installing a pod filter in a civic and honda engines sound horrible compared to nissan engines.

@REPOMAN24722 you have some learning to do $1000 will not get you 400hp out of a sr20de! even if you had the sr20det you're not getting to 400hp for a grand. heck a good sized turbo capable of pushing that much power will run you over 1000. trust me on this I have a s13 240sx (180sx or 200sx in aus) I'm doing the sr20det motor swap rite now and I have spent $1500 its still not even running! when it does run I'll be happy to dyno 230whp untill i get a big turbo :P then i can shoot for 400

@AquAcid And how could you say that hondas are more reliable, the most reliable 4 cylinder engines are the SR20DE and the GA16DE, both are nissan engines and thats the main reason i got 1, i got 1 with 245,000km on it it has only lost 1hp it came out of the factory with 141hp and has 140 now and the other SR20DE is at 178,000 and i didnt check the hp on it none of them had any problems.

@REPOMAN24722 The sr20de is a good engine yes but nissan also makes a bunch of bad motors like the qr25de that thing is a piece of shit. the qg18 is also shiit... Nissan doesn't even make the sr anymore which is a shame. Honda and nissan are both good, but honda is known for their reliability nissan, not so much

@AquAcid Maybe now honda is better for reliability but before 2003 nissan and toyota were the most reliable, now Toyota is the most reliable. But i know the SR20DE and GA16DE are more reliable engines than any honda engine, my SR20DE is good on fuel it uses only bit more than my friends sisters 2001 civic with a SOHC 1.6l engine.

In complete stock form true.. But the SR20 is far more bullet proof then pretty much any Honda motor.. I have seen 560WHP in a stock bottom end SR20DET. I don't think really any honda engine can do that.. Yes QR engines are shit.. Once Nissan went Renault it went to shit very true...
