Just my opinion, Abraham Lincoln was equal to Apostle Paul, he had a short legacy of freeing people, he putted his ideas down to do his best, died violently and left a legacy that still endures through out the ages
Good old Abe he held our country together he created the Emancipation Proclamation,he gave the Gettysburg Address, and to some is credited as the father of Union Pacific our nations railroad when he signed the Pacific Railway Act. but too bad Wilkes Booth had to kill him. Abe Lincoln was a great man and a giant among men.
he could've saved the union without violating the constitution, why are they saying "thankfully" he did it? I like these except for the subtle constitutional compromise indoctrination
a lying tyrant, hell-bent on enslaving the men of the south, who bravely fought for their freedom from the union...the same union that enslaved and killed the native americans.. and the same union that rules us by the gun today
@Skabur- You are also an idiot. The Emancipation did the exact opposite of what you said. It freed all the slaves in any rebelling state, but not any slaves in the border states. Try reading a book and learning some facts before you express yourself again.
You are all fools and have no real education on this subject. One: Abe Lincoln always wanted to free the slaves, but until he had proper northern support he could not do so. Two: the war was always about slavery. Three: @jukebox, you are an ignorant racist who and probably an ugly one too.
I cant believe Disney made these movies. I thought the beginning of the Andrew Jackson video was totally random. How do you compare a dead president to a hot, popular guy with a facebook?
Those Mulatto women are biast, and they hate that black people were treated so horribly during the war. Why are they preaching for them? They didnt live back in those times
He was a good president, but I think he is a little overated, he only freed the slaves because he needed abolitionist to help fight in the war. The war wasn't fought over slavery, it was because the south lost power in the house of reps, and in senate. Then they declared independance, the war was faught so they wouldn't be their own country. And if most Americans today knew about this, I think the war would be looked at in different ways. Seeing if it was all neccesary.
utter nonsense. the essence of the war was indeed slavery. the South wanted to maintain its 'way of life'. This meant slavery and nothing more. The South seceded because it believed Lincoln aimed to do away with slavery.
your 'knowledge' of American history reveals a shocking level of self-inflicted ignorance; no doubt you are one of these revisionists who seek to whitewash what the South was really all about. You and your ilk deny this at your own peril. But truth will out.
@doubanjiang Dude, calm down. Yes. The main driving force of the war was slavery, and the "southern way of life," but Abraham Lincoln's goals was solely to keep the union together. He disliked slavery, but didn't abolish it right away because he wanted to preserve the union.
@connorqb17 the war was fought because the south wanted to expand slavery, and the country was breaking apart. Read about Bleeding Kansas and the 1850 compromise. I can just hear the nation tearing apart like a piece of fabric , the whole country could hear it rip apart! P.S that may sound crazy, but I love history!!!
@connorqb17 The fact that he even chose to abolish slaves, even for military or economic reasons, was a decision unheard of at that time. He might seem overrated because his primary goal was not to "free slaves" per say, but he did more than anyone else was willing to. If we all lived back then, our attitudes about slaves would be much more different than it is today. One step today might have been 10 steps back then. Times have changed.

The Emancipation did not -free- the slaves. It stated that slaves in the border states, which weren't in the N or S. ..were free.
