  • always nice to see the comments posted. Instead of taking the info from the video, let's complain about the chewing of food, that lasted all of a minute. Lovely to see society has turned into complainers. I guess when you are perfect, you can criticize others. Love the video...even the chewing!

  • omfg stop eating while recording atleest shiet most anoying thing ever

  • Dude! I don't know about you guys but I think the chewing is hilarious! hahah

  • I think I could build one of those if I had the plans...I want a greenhouse!

  • stop eating like an effin animal and i could have stood to watch more than 10 seconds of this thing.

  • the chewing reminds me of bugs bunny, screw the haters!

  • 260?? nice

  • For all the people that don´t like the chewing: I am sure the uploader of this video did it on purpose to give as a feel of taste of the fresh vegetables. It has nothing to do with maners, it would though if the uploader was unaware of the chewing and left it not caring. It was a part of the manuscript. Thumbs up for being creative and for showing us your garden.

  • stiffs! can't imaging why people, instead of complaining, don't associated this unique sound immediately with nice fresh carrots or pepper sprouted in the Do-It-Yourself GeoDome Greenhouse, - Probably not really interested in the topic, better go and check out the instant-veggies at Walmart.

    Anyway, thanks for the vid!!

  • Very good video! You still using this dome, for this video was made in 2009?

  • videos great but the chewing is absolutely disgusting i had to watch it on mute.

  • Thank you for sharing your carrot with me. The crisp crunch of that carrot made my mouth water and I almost tasted it. It also effectively related to me the purpose and function of your dome. Sustenance and the appreciation for it. For all of you who don't understand the point of the carrot; go sow some and restore some humility which, in my opinion, seems you may be lacking.

You and your wife are generous people for sharing your info and experiences. Thank you.

  • @CommittedCapitalist

First off, I do have my own garden..and greenhouse.

Secondly, I have better manners than to crunch a carrot while speaking. I was taught NOT to talk while having food in my mouth. So any relationship to the dome from that is purely disgusting.

You, yourself, could use a lesson in manners.

  • Plexiglass glass might be a better alternative to that plastic. Plexiglass should last for a very long time, not just a season or two.

  • why would you ever think that leaving the chewing in would be a good idea? only George Costanza can chew and talk!

  • You should check into poly kedar it's very durable, cheap, and the way it defracts light your plants will grow straight up regardless of the position of the sun.

  • This is great - thank you for all of this. We are going to build on it. Right, we need more info.

Rude comments..ummmm. Meanness is under the skin. So all you people who feel they have to say nasty things, why not ask why you need to attack others? Judgment is an attack. Aren't you tired of attacking others...look at your reactions....its all yours!

  • @kalliyoga The information is very interesting and worthy,I've no doubt. Unfortunately the chewing made it unwatchable. I looked up a different site to watch and read... one with zero schmackin'. If he wants to chew and talk, no prob. There are other ways to find this information. Cheers.

  • my god...were you raised in a barn? CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP...disgusting.

  • Would it be possible to transform the hayloft of a barn into a green house in usda zone 4?

  • Hearing you chewing makes me want to barf. I was really hoping to find out about the dome and what you were doing, but I can't get past the eating noises. At least you could have eaten with your mouth closed. Disgusting.

  • Dork, redo the video without the crunching.. bad mannered.. why do that?

  • wherer can i uptane the plans for this awsome geo dome

  • Dislike for your damn chewing. I listen on headphones, and it is absolutely appalling to have your nasty chewing in my ears.

  • How do you ruids is coming? Fart??????????

    The geoDome is good!

  • This is SOO beautiful....also the last image when it's ligthed at night :)

  • is there any way i can get plans like this i want to make one this winter much appriciated if i coud get pland you did yours looks like exactly what i want

  • close your mouth when you chew, you pig!

  • F-ing gross you pig

  • Had to stop the video the chewing annoyed the hell out of me!

  • God, I just LOVE listening to people chew with their mouth open!

  • thanks for sharing

  • Thank you for giving your knowledge to everybody on Earth!

  • Check out how Sepp Holzer is growing all of this without hothouse in 1200 meters in the alps :) Without heating system ...

  • my god people are turnig natural chewing into something demonic....people have you forgotten that you do actually chew, and sip when you drink

  • this CHEWEING is nasty man!

  • another dislike for chewing

  • Since the builder of this dome isn't the YouTube creator...I'm just wondering if it's possible to get feedback about this project. Very beautiful btw, and I thought the guys chewing was a testament to growing your own food!

Is there plans available? What was overall cost of lumber for beds + dome + soil + raised beds? I'm at $260-ish for the dome lumber and the plastic wrap. I hope to hear back. Thanks!

  • spiffy dome and if that blonde is your wife... whew! nice job!

  • excellent stuff..!

  • What are the angles you cut the board ends to, and where did you get the metal parts ?

  • chewing at the very beginning or ending would have been okay, but all though the video is just silly

  • @shoobedoorocketship You obviously DIDN'T watch the video. He only munched at the very beginning .... on a fresh pea & baby carrot that he grew, which I believe was the point, to signify how GOOD & FRESH the veggies were. Next time how about actually watching a video before just jumping on the " I'm gonna bash this so I feel better about myself wagon"

  • why would you chew food in your video? its just rude..

  • I like the dome but not the chewing noise you make eating.

That part is terrible! Dome is great job!

  • very crunchy, sounds like they are really good.

  • good video but didn't your MOM ever tell you don 't chew with mouth open that dam chopping tho i was listen to a horse or jackass chewing and you get a dislike for the chewing

  • i want to live in there!!!!

  • Did you stain the wood in your raised beds?

  • Any clue as to how the poly is attached to the frames? That was some simple thing that was never even mentioned!

  • another dislike for the chewing.

  • you get a dislike for having to listen to your damn chewing

  • @cindihbh Seconded.

  • @cindihbh God his chewing is awful and I stop listen I dunno 3 seconds into into it. He Sucks! Awesome concept sucky teaching, turn off right away!

  • Sounds like rodger rabbit ripping through that carrot. A gong for me too. Love the house though.

  • @cindihbh i thought the chewing was hilarious !

  • I really like this, where do I learn more?

  • HAHA Crunch crunch, I can not stop laughing. Thanx

  • how about insulating it with bubble wrap? I just watched a video about it and it makes sense.

  • @angryadrien GOOD IDEA worth an Experiment at least.

  • im hungry now 0:18

  • how are you liking your chips my friend?

  • In my college years a couple lived in a 20ft dome with two layers of plastic, on top of the first layer of plastic they glued 6 in by 2 in pieces of styrofoam on top of each coupling and layed the second plastic on top which made an air pocket. also a wood stove was inside. (in massachusetts). I would suggest you check out a compost bin inside to bring the heat up Good video

  • Please post more info on your dome. Where did you get the connectors?

    Very nice!

  • Hey good job

For those who want a ready to assemble kiyt that grows year round, check out growing spaces' geodesic growing dome greenhouse kit

we have a bout 20 of these successfully growing in the Colorado springs area year round

They are designed to last 20 years and withstand the rocky mountain winds and snow

good job those compond angle s are sure tricky

    Udgar Parsons

  • Great! Did you ever think about insulating it by putting another layer of polycarbonate-foil on the inside?

  • Great video

  • google search on geodesic dome calculation tools.

  • mmm peas didnt know that fresh peas they crunched like frozen peas

  • would you share your drawings of the dome?

  • crestone?

  • Please post instructions.

  • are the strut connectors just big washers?

  • yes i would also like more info on this,. is there a step by step process online somewhere ?

  • WHere can i obtain information about the lenght of the wood struts from point to point as well as the angle of the end cuts?

Where did you get the black rings that hold the struts together? WHat is the black ring made of?

Very impressive. I"d like to end up with a 18 or 20 foot dome and plan to use an insulated glazing and insulate the north wall.

ANy updates on how your crops did throughout the season?

  • What was the bad information regarding the compound angles? I am planning to build one this winter.

  • @sueseskies try desert domes.com

  • @sueseskies Astruts and Bstruts work in the ratio of .61803 and .54653. If you start with inches, then stick to inches; but you could start with feet or cm too. Make a triangle from Astruts and extend the lines using the Bstruts. You'll make a triforce that kind of curves. Astruts will have an angle about 18 degrees and Bstruts will have about 16 degrees. Five of those together will make a short dome. Continue this pattern for a more spherical shape.

  • @sueseskies t' same size ?!

  • @sueseskies t' same size ?!

    /watch?v=17lI6dUS1tk

plenty details , ...on the cheap to make too.. peace.

  • @sueseskies Try desertdomes for the strut lengths.

  • @sueseskies i HAVE THE SAME QUERIES AS YOU. Please if you get the information of the lenght of wood and thickness for one triangle, let me know. The rest should be repetitive to the same size.

  • Calc your greenhouse self
