I too was attracted by the christian metal scene and hard melodic rock. There was a radio show here in Los Angeles called the ground floor. it came out every saturday at 5pm but unfortunately the station changed formats to the wretched mexican music culture. I loved the ground floor and the message of hope they conveyed to the lost sheep who still wander out in the open fields of darkness.

Shortly after this album came out, I had a dream that Greg X. Volz, Petra's previous lead singer, returned and was singing this song, along with playing keyboard (an instrument I've never seen him play - I've only seen him play rhythm guitar and percussion and have read he could also play drums).

some years back i palyed on a tribute cd for a secular band. i think it would be awesome to put a cd together of different bands covering some of the petra tunes as a tribute to the band. if this band only got their message through to one lost person, they served their pupose... i am one of the lost or that is i was. but still i am a work in progress

this song is absolutly beautiful. i was talking to this head of church to night and thinking that the abiltities i have (the drums) would be better spent serving him. i feel he has been tapping me on the shoulder for years showing me want i need to do. its amazing how a well written musically song like this when added with great, purposfully written lyrics transends the song to something not of this world. i love this band. only the lord could put something like this together.

This album as more value in it than any other. It is a Heavenly perspective on the universe. It is the only album where Petra truly challenges the physical plane of existence and ignores its commercial aspects.

OM Gosh, I wish I would have been a Christian back in the 80's! This song is awesome! I didn't even know about them back then.  If I had listened to this instead of all that other stuff who knows, maybe I would have been a better Christian as a teenager.

I was a young christian in the 90's and my husband had these tapes from when he was young. I listened to them over and over and over again praising the Lord to the top of my lungs :)

It was while listening to Petra that God spoke to me audibly, and said that He loved me, God has used Petra to minister to me, and many more I'm sure :) Praise God!!!!

Boy does that bring back memories, I went to Point Loma CA for the On fire concert and we got there at about 1PM. The stadium door was open and we went to get seats. Sitting there the band came out to tune up, security started to come up to ask us to leave but John waived them off and we sat quietly for the whole session then the whole band came up and introdced themselves. There are many CCM bands I like but Petra has always been at the top of that list for me.
