  • One of my favorite episodes lol. Funny how somebody was throwing cats all over the place. My favorite part was when Lamont went out and woke Fred up and and said "it's me pop Lamont " and Fred looked at him and said" Lamont" as if he was saying " of course it's Lamont I should have known" lol

  • 1:16-1:18 When Fred wakes up and is blinking his eyes and Lamont places his hand on Freds shoulder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Redd Foxx sure could use his eyes well in this show to convey his feelings. He did it so well in many episodes. And the hand on the shoulder was a classic, long running gag that in tv shows, old horror movies, comedy horror, and dramas, yet he did it and gave it his own touch of Redd Foxx! Gilligans Ils, Mayberry,Bewitched, and many shows used that gag at some point. Malik Jubal

  • 4:07 "I was layin' here dreamin' about Lena Horne...." The Lena Horne episode was one of my favorites. Even Bill Cosby had a deep crush on Lena Horne because she was so beautiful.

  • LOL @ Lamont. Dude was frozen with fear when he saw that cat!

  • I have tears in my eyes from laughing so damn hard at this episode LMAO!!

  • Wow the 4 people that don't like Sanford and Sone must live Dancing with the Stars or something. Sanford and Son will never be replicated. I'm 43 and it's still funny azz hell to me...nothing today can make me laugh as much as this show did/does.

  • @MzSunnyJeep i know! what the heck were they thinking? i love this show!

  • "hey pop, where nare the fuses?"

"where you expect them to be,in the fruit bowl!" LMAO!

  • This show could've lasted until like 1990 when Fred played "Harlem Nights"

  • EWWW GOD!! BIG ASS CAT!!! HA HA , This is my favorite 1st Season Episode.

  • Ha!! I LOVE THIS!!

  • Comment removed

  • Them cats start yelling and Lamonts punk ass got scured not scared scured!

  • why is Lamont so scared of prowling, meowing kitty cats? when did they become harbingers of death? you don't like the racket, get your effin pets fixed before you let them outside, stupid no-good animal owners.

  • @kluboski He was afraid from what Fred said about them in the first part " A cat yowling at midnight means there is going to a death in the house." Plus they didn't own any cats (not saying you said they did though). :D

  • Lamont is not man enough to admit he is scared....at least Fred admits he is scared.

  • best show ever on television - hands down , even in the year 2010

  • Little known fact, Nelson B. Davis, played by the late James Wheaton, is first cousin twice removed to Bishop T.D. Jakes and a distant cousin of Tavis Smiley.

  • @Tsuruta1 Wow, that was a great little known fact. Here's another. Lamont's given name is Grady Lamont Wilson. He's now 63 years old and he was a decorated Vietnam veteran in the 60's. At the age of 12, his appendix ruptured, nearly killing him. At that time, he vowed to God that he would serve him somehow. That's why he went into the ministry.

  • @GetTheLook2010 Correct, but that's Grady DEMOND Wilson. :)

  • @Tsuruta1 Thank you so much! You're right, his name IS Grady Demond Wilson. Next time, I'll proofread!

    Take care, friend

    ~~GTL2010~~~

  • 2:32 they just threw the cats

  • This is taken directly from the Steptoe and Son episode. Harold wants to sell the coffins, Albert sleeps out in the barn. But it's funny.

  • You don't get to see these funny closing credits on TV Land anymore, either. A new graphic blows by at the bottom of the screen so they can show commercials, usually of their own original programming that SUCKS HARD and has no business being on a channel called "TV Land".

  • Dont be ridiculous!

  • This episode is hilarious from beginning to end. I just watched this one a few times just last week. I like the part when Fred woke and said "who is it" and Lamont said "It's me Pop Lamont" and Fred looked and him and said"Lamont", as if to say, no kidding,You could see the irritated look on Fred's face. That was so funny.

  • Afraid of cats(CHICKEN)

  • best ever!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, it sure does rank right up to the top! I recently learned that they could have gone on longer and the stuffed shirt studio executives wouldn't pay Red Foxx the money he deserved. He was making them MILLIONS and they stiffed him. Man, I really wish they had just given him the money, I bet the show would have went on for three or four more seasons. Red Foxx was one of the funniest people to ever grace this earth...PERIOD.

  • It is the all time best!!!......And Klunket........its because the talent the past 30 years cannot hold a candle to the talents of the 50"s 60's and 70's.........Period........Just check out the dean martin roasts. there will never be talent like then ever!

  • I am inclined to agree- I remember the Dean Martin Roasts, anybody who was anybody at the time were on there and every second of it kept you laughing, and sometimes they could even squeeze out a tear.. could you imagine today's stars on the roasts? Who would they roast Paris Hilton? Todays stars would not even be in the same class. Most of those guys could make you laugh until it hurt- and the did it all without even using the F word- Imagine that....

  • At least Fred admits he is afraid....Lamont is just chicken and doesn't want to admit it.

Fred is more of a man then Lamont.

  • Why can't they make shows like this anymore? This show was so hilarious, and when you think back to around the same time period, there were alot of shows funny enough to make you piss your pants! Instant classics like All in the Family, the Jeffersons, Good Times, and so many others... what the hell has happened to television?

  • YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!! T.V. sitcoms have gotten so bad that I don't even watch T.V. beyond the local news. I'll stick with the CLASSICS! As for the new generation of viewers; keep your 'fart jokes'. I'd rather watch TRUE COMEDY through shows such as this!

  • soo true this and older tv shows beat the new shows in comedy!

  • @billythekid071 I do not watch modern television shows at all. Most are boring, and the sitcoms are not funny at all (at least not to me). Give me the classics anyday.

  • That is the best part .LMAO

  • What.1:10 is the shit.

  • i can't stop laughing my ass off.

  • sanford and son sitcoms RULE:)

  • i could watch this episode over and over..this is freakin hilarious..

  • Ohho..man i like this part when fred is still afraid of those coffin's in the house, then he'll sleep in the truck.

So lamont keep on saying he's not afraid and he's started getting scared and then all cat's hollowing loud...then he's really gettin scared...

    (loud crash)

Fred: Ahhahhh...ohhoo what ya tryin to give me a heart attack.

Lamont:..i just came out here to tell ya the light's don't work.

Fred: then why ya came out here to kill me for?

LOL!!!! It's funny line from fred.

  • ooooh no, don't be a yellow belly coward now Lamont... it was such a great idea at first! lmao

  • My favorite episode of all time!!!! Very funny!

  • fav part 1:06

  • I don't know how sanford could sleep outside he's not even in the truck but outside of it!

  • tooloud to be a fart, i think it was the rubber soles of his slippers lifting up suddenly.

  • "...you'll be a cripple from ya neck down."

"And we'll be a perfect match, 'cause you a cripple from yo neck up."

    LMFAO!!

  • funny as hell!

cheaking my eye lids for cracks!

    haha

  • FREDS FACE AT 2:57 LAMONT HAHA

  • LAMONT: This is ridiculous! You're ridiculous, and I'm ridiculous for being out here with you.

FRED: Then go back in the house.

    LAMONT: Don't be ridiculous!

  • Great Episode. This is one of FAVORITE shows from the GREAT 1970's.

  • Lamont: pop if u sleep in the truck you'll be a cripple from ur neck down

Fred: then we be a perfect match, because ur a cripple from ur neck UP

you can see redd`s in part 1

  • classic tv

  • IN the fruit bowl

  • If it's just after 12:00, it's already the first thing tomorrow morning.

  • Being a little too literal. He probably means at dawn (when it gets light)

  • "Hey pop, are you asleep?"

"Nah...I'm just checkin' my eyelids for cracks."

  • @endorphinz hillarious, bot i fell out when he said that i was in tears at the end of this show!!!
