I am going on the allure, and I will probably say allure is better when it comes to activities..The carnival dream (sailed may 29,2010) was ok, but a lack of things to do on board, the first time I was bored on board...

Just got off the Allure of The Seas - Royal Caribbean International recently. I have been on Carnival Cruise Ships more times,which were fun times! But I have have to say that Royal Caribbean is much better! RCI has the upper edge. Much more classier with some cutting edge technology big time! Royal Caribbean is # 1 in my opinion! Royal Caribbean is not as expensive as some like to think. Depending who you book and plan your cruise with!

I've cruised on both lines, and RCCI has much nicer ships. I'm booked on the Dream because I couldn't afford the premium fares that RCCI put on the OASIS. No cruise is worth that much more than their other ships. At least Carnival kept the Dream affordable.I can't wait, since I've never been disappointed with either line. Carnival has much better shows and food in the buffets.

@japanter Carnival is top in the industry, Royal Caribbean isn't there, Carnival will not build larger ships than what they have, they said that at those size their ships fit perfectly everywhere, and Carnival has many more ships than RCCL, Carnival has a whopping 100 Ships in total with all its comanys RCCL has 31 or 32. Carnival is able to transport more people than RCCL, because their ships are smaller but cheaper, and they have many more, than RCCL.

I'm planning to go on the Oasis cause it has the a lot of stuff on board. The Dream has half the activities the Oasis does and is almost half the size of the Oasis to. The Dream is not even as large as the Freedom

For criing out loud, how can you compare these ships, have you any sense. If you knew anything about cruise ships you would know that these two ships are not on the same planet as far as ships are concerned. The Dream should actually be campared to the Freedom Class RCCL ships and still would be on the outside looking in. Voyager class ships are better. Oasis will likely not get outdone in the next ten years!! This ship is a man made 8th wonder of the world. Wake up people!!
