I met Curt Fraser and Glen Cochrane at the Salmon Festival in Campbell River one year long ago(yeah it was raining). I shook their hands and remember Curt had the biggest mitts I have ever seen!
Smith did well for an all-star player....but he took 3 every time he landed 1....I remember Fraser broke someone's jaw in a fight....anyone remember who?
wow, thanks for this video. fraser was tough as nails but he was also the ultimate gentleman and i think he took it easy on bobby after he defended himself. I'll bet curt was a bit surprised smith was throwing them that hard, and when a 6'4 guy is throwing them at range from you .... ya gotta be intense like fraser was. fun stuff. those stars/hawks battles of the 80s were absolutely classic
Kudos to Smith. I like how Fraser shows some class after he fired in a haymaker, he knows he hurt Smith and lets him be...the fight was over and he doesn't show boat like so many classless fucks in the NHL.
that's one of the funniest things i've ever heard.....Fraser beat Smith and pretty much everyone else he fought. It would have been embarrassing if Fraser had fought Smith in SMith's toupee era...he was have knocked it right off!!!!...LOL
Curt Fraser was mean, tought and could play as well. Smith showed a lot of courage on this one. Ask Shane Corson ... He to fund out by himself just how mean Fraser was.
I heard it said Fraser had a brown or black belt in Karate (How do you fit that in with Maj Jr., then minor pro, NHL?) I do know everytime he connected that right hand, someone dropped. Power puncher.
you're right...i'm a canucks fan going back to early 70s and i still believe fraser was the best fighter, pound for pound I've seen...... he frequently fought, and beat , guys who were taller and heavier. I love the vid of him dropping Farrish....lol
Fraser was one of the best ever fighters in the NHL. His classic fight was a one punch knockout of Toronto's Dave Farrish on a HNIC broadcast. They dropped the gloves, Fraser dropped Farrish with one right, and then skated to the box.
Smith was loser! Always talking shit with that goofy smirk on his face but he did well in this scrap. Fraser could fight, I remember he had huge biceps & hands, If he connected look out! I remember he broke Shane Corson's jaw in a fight. Fraser seemed to get hurt a lot though & was a diabetic.
curt fraser is one of my really good friends dad. we play on AAA together... 1993 St. Louis Jr Blues. he is the nicest guys but he could beat the livin piss outta anyone
Fraser had hands of stone. His battles against Willi Plett when he was w/Vancouver were classic. The 2nd right he threw at Smith at the :22 mark is what opened Smith up. Tall and lanky means nothing in a fight.
I'm a Blackhawks fan and I enjoyed watching Curt Fraser play and fight. He didn't look for trouble but he was one of the best fighters. He could play hockey too. I would love to see more Curt Fraser videos.

Curt Fraser one of the best one punch knockout artists. Wish he was still playing, and Canucks like usual trade a character guy away.
