Yeah, he's shape shifted, the first alternate form he took on in the comic was the detective John Jones. If you go to DC digital comics and look at the free comics section you'll see the MM's origin and in there John Jones is white. but I’ve never seen the 1955 original origin, but I’m guessing it's the same. MM can shape change at will so any human form he has is just a disguise, im guess he's black here for some cast diversity.

My 9 year old came flying into the kitchen to drag me in front of the TV to show me a DVR of Alan Scott's ring. I was pumped! I tried to watch the show after that and there was never antoher mention of THE GREEN LANTERN. They made that lame ass Star-Girl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate. J'onn J'onzz was the only character they handled properly. They should end the series with a real bang: Clark staring up into the night sky and seeing a bat-signal.

@tericson100 1) The show is called Smallville, not Oa. 2) This show is about a young Clark Kent becoming Superman, not the Green Lantern Corps. 3) Around the same time, a Green Lantern movie was in the progress of being made so they couldn't use Green Lantern.

Very nice, the episode when he infiltrated Checkmate, I think was his best showcase yet (since joining in Season 7 I believe). He showed all the tricks in his bag.
