It lives in the woods, but there have been some reports of it getting through cracks in the windows, there was one story where one woman was pricked on the back of her hand and had to amputate her entire forearm before it spread further into her torso, which could have killed her.

That happened in Canada which is where you live, I believe?

People complain about cliched and formulaic movies.I say that if a movie can take a cliched concept and make it its own, then that movie has accomplished what most movies cannot. Splinter did just that. Even with a twist ending, the twist was not contrived. One of the few Scifi movies I didn't laugh at.

What a bad trailer, the movie is so much better than this. They could have made an awesome trailer that creeped the hell out of everyone, instead it looks like a standard monster flick. The nature of this "splinter" is so disturbing and gross that the sheer idea is genius, and this trailer doesn't do it justice.
