  • As I get older, I realize how incredibly brave Gloria Swanson was to take on this role. Just the right amount of dignity, desperation, blind hope and pathos. Of course, William Holden wasn't too shabby either. I've always loved Buster Keaton's cameo. Just a wonderful movie that delivers a real kick to the stomach.

  • the fact gloria did not win the oscar for this role proves there is something wrong with the oscar selection process...

  • @caivan To be fair Judy Holiday did an awesome job in "Born Yesterday"... And she was also up against another great performance of an aging actress--Bette Davis's Margo Channing...
