@gmanist1000 I need a new machine and I'm debating between an iMac and a Macbook Air. I don't do a ton of work in Final Cut, but I do use it from time to time. I can deal with longer export times as long as Final Cut isn't slow while you're working with it. What's it like to use Final Cut with background rendering turned on on the Macbook Air?
The iMac would win because it has a i7 and because it has a faster clock speed at 3.4GHZ.I am only 12 years old but I know a lot about macs and intel please replay gmanist1000 love your videos.
Hey! Would you recommend the Air for a student or should i go with the Macbook Pro 13". Ive never used a Mac since ive always been a pc guy but i thought i'll try it out =)
@Xclusiv8 The Air if you don't need the optical drive or the higher performance. If you're just going to be doing browsing and wiring documents then the Air will be perfect.
@gmanist1000 Thanx for your answer. Well ill be doing a lot of programing. Dont really need the drive. And the air does have a higher resolution than the Pro. Would you say its a big performance leap between the two?
@Xclusiv8 The performance won't be a HUGE difference. The Air will be faster to start up and shutdown and also opening up applications because of the flash storage. I would say if you're going to be doing any really heavy duty stuff you might want to go for the Pro, but the 13" Pro model really isn't all that better than the MacBook Air. If you chose a 15" Pro, THEN you would really see a difference because of the quad core processor.
@gmanist1000 Okay. Thank you. I think i will go with the Air since i need it to be somewhat portable. The 15" Pro has some weight behind it and carrying it around all day around the school will take its toll eventually. Thank you once again.
