  • Ovation is now sold by Adobe. I am trying it with Windows 7 and ppt 10. I had to save my ppt files as ppt (native is pptx). The problem is that my slides do not show in the preview window. Adobe has no support for the trial version-not even a forum. Is there some other program similar to ovation that you know of?

  • Hold On There Skippy lol

  • i love the way he is saying not to use boring powerpoint slides and yet he is using boring powerpoing slides

  • Lol is camtasia the one that when it zooms there is a green thing can anyone tell me were to download it the one that zooms with the green square ?

  • Thanks. Capturing the preview window was a GREAT tip! I like your style.

  • which camtasia studio are u using? 4 5 6? cuz i really like that cursor affect u do when u click the mouse.

    thanks

  • Well actually this video is both boring and lame....FAIL

  • lol you spoke earlier about the quality will.... FAIL

  • wmm is the best,.....movie maker is the best

  • not if u have windows 7 64 bit.. you cant download any speed effects.. camtasia so far is the best IMO..

  • /hey how do you make this vid? with 16 mins

  • This is an older account grandfathered in from when time lengths were longer...

  • oh really?

  • @logicaldrive your prob a youtube partner arent u ?

  • u gotta be a youtube partner?

  • very long upload time

  • i see...

  • FYI ,Ovation is not compatible with Office 2007

  • Thanks for the comment! Yes, I did mention that in a comment a long time ago...Thanks for the reminder. Ovation is NOT compatible with PowerPoint 2007.

  • wow.. how do you get a vid. from 16 min on youtube O.o?

  • how can i make headings like you did at the start of the video can you tell me how to make those and have writing on them and is it on camtasia

  • do u guys know how to make camtasia work after it expired i tried reinstalling it but still it doesnt work

  • nice vid it helpes.....

  • Hi, does anyone know how to fastforward videos so that they fit on youtube? I have a video that is 14 minutes long but youtube wont allow it..

  • In Camtasia, about the only thing you can do is...edit like you MEAN it! Sorry...

  • Export the file as a video and then open it in video editing software. That way you can speed up the play rate for the sections you want and condense the length of the video. Just requires another tool but easily doable.

  • I'm having trouble with the audio-video SYNCHRONIZATION. Can someone please help me with this?

Also how can I make LONG recordings (1 to 2 hours) without having a HUGE file size? For example, I wanna let Camtasia start recording a video I'm streaming and I wanna leave my house and come back and press STOP. How can I do this w/o having a HUGEEEEE file size AND have audio-video SYNCHRONIZATION?

I'm not gonna upload the videos anywhere so the quality doesn't need to be superb.

    Thanks.

  • its sounds ghostly... o.O let me know what that voice is at around.. 5:30-5:36 cause it sounds scary as hell :O.

  • It's HAL...the computer from 2001 A Space Odyssey saying that "something wonderful" is about to happen...

  • oh ok thanks ;D, btw your tutorial is really great :), keep up the good work :).

    i HAVE IT

  • funny stuff, thy crazy tho...

  • the funniest,

  • wow lol, im glad i got camtasia for free

  • how do i get curosor?

  • Sorry...not sure what your question is. Can you be more specific?

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this.

Would you happen to know if Ovation will work with Cam Studio? It'll be hard enough for me to spend $100 on Ovation, but I can't justify spending $300 on Camtasia - especially when Cam Studio is free open source.

I also think programmers should be paid. I just wish I was in a position to pay for more of these expensive programs. Today's software tools are absolutely amazing!

    Thanks again.

  • Its called a torrent.

  • Thanks for the tip Mr obvious - I'm aware of what a torrent is. I simply choose to pay for the software I use. It's called integrity - Google it.

  • You can try it with CamStudio! That's just the screen capture part. I'm not too familiar with it but I believe it might capture the preview window like Camtasia would.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • 16 minutes? :o

  • Not sure what you mean but thanks for the comment!

  • your video is 16 minutes, the limit is 10 O_o

  • Sunnycrab if you are logged on a administration you can upload a video more than 10 min :D

  • what do you mean administrator?

  • yes :P

  • Lon,

I spoke to a tech support guy at Adobe and he walked me through how to make Ovation work in Vista. But now I can't upload my Ovation videos to You Tube. I keep getting a Failed: Invalid File Format message. I'm saving the video as a .wmv file. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

  • Couple of things to check first:

    1. Does it play OK locally on your computer?

    2. Is it bigger than 100MB or longer than 10 minutes?

    3. Are you SURE you're uploading the right file?

BTW, I'd LOVE to hear what Adobe told you! I think the problem is more with PowerPoint 2007 than with Vista...

  • I played around with it and finally figured it out. I was NOT uploading the correct file.

Adobe had me make some adjustments to the colors in my config file for the Ovation program. I'd give you the blow by blow but I basically just did what I was told without paying attention. It took us about 10 minutes to get it straightened out. The guy was really sharp. I'll post my first video and you can see what I've done.

  • AWESOME !

    GREAT !

    THANKS !

  • Well done Lon.

I bought the ovation software but it moves very slowly on my computer. I have a brand new HP laptop that runs Windows Vista on Comcast cable Internet. Any idea why the software is so slow for me?

  • Maybe...I know that everyone who tries to run Ovation on Vista has failed because Adobe (who bought Serious Magic) is NOT supporting it! So, for everyone out there...this trick will not work on Vista or PowerPoint 2007...bummer!!

  • Very very good

  • incredibly good. thanks.

  • thank you so much for adding this video! This is going to help my campaign out alot! :)

  • This is great, I love your guide.

I'm surprised you don't have more hits.

  • Starting a new YouTube user called StupidCamtasiaTricks to start consolidating the work...Thanks

  • after the trail can i crack this thing with a code or something you know about or any hacks ??

  • Sorry...I don't use software cracks or hacks. I pretty much figure that developers deserve to be paid for quality work.

  • You have my respect.

  • thanks a lot for this video, i iam quite interested in oviation as it looks awesome! thanks again.

  • what video editer do you use can you send it to me?

  • The editing is done in Camtasia Studio. Sorry...can't "send" it to you. It's a licensed program from Techsmith

    Thanks for the comment!

    Lon

  • Logical,

What resolution are you recording your Camtasia presentations in? 1024X768? and what resolution do you produce your videos in for Youtbe? I recorded a sample one at 1024X768 and Youtube recommends uploading at 320X240 but the resolution wasn't very good.

  • Hi Bosston,

I never record at 1024x768 when I know that I'll be uploading to YouTube or any other video service. Stupid Camtasia Tricks are recorded as I've indicated in the tutorial. I usually go with 800x600 for other things and use Pan & Zoom to move to key focus areas with a 320x240 zoom...and then of course Produce As a 320x240 video for YouTube.

  • Thanks. Have you tried Techsmith's new program Jing?
