i sold my xbox360 and bought ps3 just to play this...yet^^ some unfamiliar faces, who is the twins (or triplets??) in yellow real robot? and the blue hair guy in purple RR (0:52)?? from W??
I hope the events of SRW Alpha 2-3 and SRW MX will be happening in this game. Cerebus is cool, but I wish Gramraid would appear too. Hope to see characters like Baran Doban, Cobray and the Assualt Scout as well.
@TerrorLubu I think the reason they didn't sell well is because there was no marketing at all and Atlus released the GBA near the end of the GBA's life. Then Atlus released Endless Frontier and like the GBA games there was no marketing.
@Oblivion28694 GBA has two SRW games in english. OG1 and OG2, so it has existed outside of japan. Just not for very long. Although technically the games were called, Super Robot Taisen OG 1 and 2, Taisen means War/Wars in japanese so meh.
@Farvan893 It's gonna be a blast. I wonder if Glacies and Wintos are gonna be recruitable charactrs like in SRWD. Another thing was I'd though they'd be using Gigas Forte instead of the Real Robots. Guess that one will be their upgrade huh....
The reason the GBA games didn't sell was the absolute lack of marketing. You had to already know the game was out or happen across it to find it.
Also Namco's overseas things are losing money from refusing to localize shit. They might as well take this risk. Considering the fact that the overseas fanbase for this is NOT SMALL IN THE SLIGHTEST and that there's 4 translation patches on these really text-heavy games, and it's likely that with at least some kind of marketing it'll sell well.
@NegativeSquad Where talking about Bamco here there stupid & they don't market anything well. I mean like of Tales of Graces F. It was announced 4 the US & still no trailer & there has been several chances for the them to show one. Also we have .hack//Link there still no chance of them localizing it at all meaning where not going to even get a chance to play it & same with all the future .hack// series stuff we won't get to play any of it or see any off it dubbed. It's a shame Bamco is so dumb.
Too bad americans are stuck playing fps like "Call of dodo 15", they should try playing games like this instead. The market would be so much more interesting with games like this... And copyrights are nothing but a royal pain in the ass!
@Heroinedown See, the thing about that is, games like those are what's in right now. And they're not necessarily bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Don't get me wrong, I don't really like CoD, but after growing up on JRPGs, I needed a little change of pace, which the CoD's and Halos gave. RPGS used to be everywhere, now they've become kinda...niche, so to speak. It's just changing times, I guess is what I'm trying to say. I love SRW, so seeing it come here would be cool.
@WaywardRyu l understand what you're saying but you've got it all wrong. ln europe, RPGs in the 90s were hard to find, at that time you could say it was only known by REAL gamers. Back then, quality meant something and l never tired of playing those. Nowadays, you see Rpgs everywhere so it's far from being a niche anymore (plus they are not as good as before, except for a few series). Cod is fun to play but l'll trade all the Halos in the world just to play one good Rpg again (in english).
It would be great if they released this to the US but i'm not too hopeful after OGs remake and OG Gaiden never made it. So if Namco Bandai decides to release this to the US then great i'll pre-order as soon as possible but Namco bandai hasn't really shown any iniative on their part to bring any SRW game over to the US,so we might just have to hope that atlus publishes it.
@ZeroPhoenix44 The best we can hope for is for a lil' genius to make a translation patch in 5 years from now like for some of those old SRW games. Now that would be sweet, l can already imagine myself playing the new SRW on PS3 in US... Man this is so unfair, marketing laws sucks big time!
@Heroinedown Actually, OG3 will never be released here in the US for the same reason OG Gaiden and OG Spirits weren't released... the sales for OG1 & OG2 on the GBA sucked so bad that it's just not profitable at all to have to pay people to translate the game into english, hire an english voice cast to do the speaking lines, and then pay to advertise it in the US.
@Zetsumi199091 l know you're rigth but that's a bad excuse : most games nowadays contain several languages in the options, nothing is stopping them from putting subs and translating only the menu. After all, these are Blue Ray we're talking about so the space limitations are not a problem. We're not asking for english voices because they'd probably suck anyways. A few games like Resident evil when they came out in Japan had both english and japanese text so if they really wanted, they'd do it.
@Zetsumi199091 They could do what Record of the Agarest War did just translate the text but keep the japanese dubs. I mean most fans probably won't have problem with that and plus this game is on the PS3 so it's will most likely sell better than the GBA games.

I think the games didn't sell well because of the genre; a lot of people doesn't appreciate turn-based strategy.
But I love this the super robot series, I came across super robot taisen og on the gba a few years back and think it's awesome, even until now.
It's just a shame people nowadays are TOO into FPS genre
