  • So, last night a guy was hit by a car, a guy died try to save kayakers, and your news is a pageant girl painted fast. Sometimes I wonder about our country's priorities.

  • that was a product of practice.

  • WOWOW!

  • thats kind of what i did for a pageant

  • good job!

  • It seems to be the only painting she does every time. Nice trick Lassie.

  • Haha, I was so confused for the first minute. Then it was like, "Ohh!!!!"

She sure knows how to put on a show :D

  • good........thank

  • it's amazing...great

  • Hawaii's news channel is cool~!

  • "How do you know you have that kind of talent?,"

"First of all, I don't know!" hahahaha..good one

  • That was pretty freaking sweet.

  • I kept waiting to see what the point was and then I was totally blown away at the end. Awesomeness!

  • so what! it's not like you can do the same anyways! it still takes talent to do that! and she's quite the entertainer. cute.

  • ohmy! this is amazing!

  • Amazing! It's a portrait of Bruce Lee!

  • OMG... I thought it was a cheesy act in the beginning, but then HOLY SH*T!

  • my goooood. I was like "wtf" and she was like "wooosh-woosh-wooosh". and then i was like.... fall from my chair. XD.

got to try this. XD. i would say 3 words...only.

    practice,practice,practice...

  • Woah! Just Woah! I've never seen anything like this before this was awsomw!

  • White dudes are lame

  • According to the crawl, some kid got shot in the ankle.

What an awkward and ridiculous place to get shot.

  • Amaizingggggg!

  • ShamWOW!! I love Bob Ross.

Women just don't it for me.

    Dynomite.

  • i think another dude also did the same thing a while back on a tv program in taiwan. the same pic, too. i would not call it a talent since it is a skill that can be memorized.

  • So is playing the piano, or twirling a baton, or dancing. But those are often skills in pageants, are they not?

  • it is soo much harder then it looks, even for a great artist doing a painting in 2 minutes, with a spinning canvas, its hard

  • holy crayola. That. is. AMAZING.

  • Very reminiscent of Denny Dent. While he didn't spin the painting around, he had the same planning ability to paint something nearly unidentifiable until the end. If you like this, check out his paintings of John Lennon or Hendrix.

  • Cirque de Monet.

  • Long time

  • OMG i would hit that so hard :P

  • Awesome homage to Bruce Lee. All the wushu she was doing was a great distraction, loved the stamp at the end. =D

  • It was pretty cool. Although, I didn't have quite the same "omg, how did she do that?" reaction those newscasters did. As someone who knows how to draw/paint, rendering something sideways or upside down really isn't *that* difficult.

Doing it while balancing on one foot, on the other hand...

  • "Whirly-gig easel" (O:

She's a good magician. The whole putting one leg up in the air was a good distraction to her painting the final part of the picture that could have people guessing what it was before the big reveal.

  • wazzaa4u did bring to light one thing most do not know about, and that being that the majority of the greatest people the world has ever known often suffered from some type of emotional or mental handicap, fact.

  • I'm curious, do you plan to go throught the rest of your life with such negativity or is it just a passing thing?

  • Humor dude .. every hear of it?

  • Yeah, I have. That's what I was doing. Sorry you didn't get it. Little slow? I should have guessed. My bad.

  • Well, she did paint THE man. I say it's a tribute to him.

  • Ed Zachary (exactly)

  • All u guys are retarded, this is an awesome talent and it is no surprise that she won. Try to stay on topic with your sad arguments.

  • Most likely the most impressive thing I have ever seen on the net to date :D

  • also unless Mozart was a idiot savant..i highly doubt he wrote down verdi's opera note for note. The movie "Amadeus" is not real life. duh. only amazing retards can do those things.

  • First of all, savants are not idiots. Those are people with special abilities.Second of all, that thing with Mozart truly happened, it´s written in the high school textbook & it was just an well-known example for my point. Third thing, I watched "Amadeus" as a 14-year-old but I still recall it, I can´t remember that part with Verdi, so I´m not sure it´s even in the movie, but that is beside the point... The thing is, that really happ & Verdi went ballistic, cause he meant to "keep the recipe"

  • Fuck your stupid argument about Mozart and Idiot savants. Everyone was trained instinct nurture versus nature Nicola Tesla and a giant bird poops all over your face.

  • That's right, insult savants & the rest of us and use Tesla as a shining example, in that everyone knew he had more than a few screws loose & was a few bricks short of a full load howver smart he may have been, lol

You just shot yourself down by doing so, BTW, lol

  • I think the specific and often used term "idiot savant," or, a person of low IQ with an extraordinary ability, was mistaken for the word, "savant," by itself, which means someone that is really good at something.

  • TY, Quizoid! Exactly my point! A savant ability is an extraordinary ability.

And you, The Stabbing Juan, or whatever, don´t forget that without Tesla you wouldn´t have electrical power to write your stupid remarks about him. You wouldn´t have a computer or washing machine or radio or anything which runs on el. power. And did not have so much as one savant ability. He was just much smarter than the rest of us - it´s called a genius, genius.

  • And for all of you who acctually can´t or won´t read: u got here all riled up because I expressed my opinion in civilized manner. Nice! Now I wish I was criticizing the artist, but I wasn´t - I was critizing the stupid audience, unaccustomed to art, who delights 4 wrong things, they don´t even see where her talent lies, they just react as if she were a circus freek.

& if I f.e. thought she were bad, then so what? Why are you Americans so black and white? If u don´t get blinded by someone &

  • say only "wow" and "oh, how beatiful", using as few words as possible, then u get judged and yelled at. And if u say sth in defense of someone Americans don´t like, then they go ballistic, again, and then they shout at u, again. Could u people just develope just a little critical mind, one small amount of restraint both in your delights & hatreds? I won´t answer any more comments here. I say what I think & u people want to kill me if u don´t change my mind. It´s like an avalanche, geez

  • your efforts will not be recognized at all because none of this changes the fact that you all are bleeding on all over my keyboard via serious internets

  • poop

  • If you can't do it don't talk shit...

  • The talent isn't the doing the drawing or the dancing, it's the spatial recognition. She drew it with large brushes on a rotating canvas while spining in circles. She could turn and a glace know exactly where she was on the painting and how to continue. While practiced, it's still an amazing thing to be able to do that at all those different angles without messing up while dancing in front of an audience and spinning around etc.

  • IMO, she didn´t do too much dancing, but thumb up for the inteligent response though.

  • While it is a nice performance and certainly sth worth watching, it is a trained performance, with nothing spontaneous in it, esp not the picture. Which is also fine, more than fine acctually - something you have to respect: the idea & all the hard work. But I don´t get why people delight for it, as if were truly a product of a moment, why don´t the work get a treatment as a well-thought of product, beautifully done, but a treatment of a savant accomplishment?

  • Aren't all of their "talents" a trained performance? People are delighted because even if she trained to do it, her performance came out beautifully and perfectly.

  • I wish they were delighted because of it, but they are not. That was exactly what I was saying. And not all talents are trained p. For ex. Mozart was on the premiere of the Verdi´s requiem, then he went home and wrote the whole thing down, note for note from A to Z, even though that piece is considered the most complicated of all requiems. That is a savant ability. People are opening their mouths here as if she were came up with it in that same moment. Where acctually her hard work shoud be app

  • You do not have to be a savant in order to recall things note for note, or word for word, so you are wrong in your statement.

Sometimes people such as I just find what seems overly complex to the majority easier to deal with than something so simple anyone could do it.

  • can anyone tell me what the track is on this please? the music?

  • it's the theme song to Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon"

  • i got it at like at :30.

  • Iolani graduate Lisa Wai Hah Wong 01 was crowned the 2009 Narcissus Queen on Saturday evening at Hawaii Theater. She is a graduate of Wellesley College where she received a Bachelors degree in Studio Art and received a Luce summer internship, working in a contemporary art gallery in Shanghai.

  • i am pretty sure there outlines and she just fill in the colors...

  • maybe, but it was kinda dark wasn't it?

  • Amazing.

  • Lame.

  • I'm pretty sure there was a guy on Ellen who did one like this of Ray Charles...

  • There was. I saw it. I was thinking about that same thing once I saw this.

  • He did it with one leg in the air as well??? :p

  • without a...whirly-gig easel

  • hahaha, wow.

  • Wow, that lady is incredible.

  • Can you tell what it is yet? Rolf Harris was doing this decades ago.

  • That is awesome! I wish I was there live to see it!
