  • Hey grosspa, how do you get away with the consent issues? Also why are your samples never formalin foxed?

  • some pathology specimens do not have to be formalin-fixed when performing the gross examination and can be cut in "fresh" like this ischemic small bowel, in certain circumstances they will be formalin fixed for a while before sections can be processed into paraffins blocks

  • Oversized eel?

  • wait so you didn't [ut it back in did ya , i am thinking no....

  • People have surgey everyday for various problems. Pathology studies these problems, so everything that we receive is abnormal. This was not put back in. It is examined grossly and microscopically, that's all. not re-used or eaten!

  • Err ist for some kind of cooking right?

  • My bad.. its from human, when ur obstructed? The dude died ,the bowel is "dead" or its a normal routine? I mean they pull it out , cut it in 2 and then put it in u again????

  • The segment is from a human. He was alive when they removed it, and to my knowledge, is still alive. The bowel becam ischemic (dead) inside him and wasn't doing its job.
