@FunkMan35 As a bass player, I'd agree with your comments 100%. This isn't a good way to make bass lines. Sure it gives you the same rhythm as the drums, but you want some counterpoints against the drum line. That's what makes a bassline more 'natural'.
I've been making original bass lines, in real-time, with my bass guitar for 40 years. On Logic Audio Pro 9 it takes longer but I guess for a kid that can't play an instrument there's no other alternative but to program a bass line. If beginners want to make good bass lines, the best advice IMO is that they learn to play a few songs on a real bass. Then they can begin programming more natural/logical sounding bass lines.
