  • If I were in one of those cars, my God, I would have shit myself so bad.....

  • quick question was a t rex really that big? or did they just over exaggerated it?

  • Too bad the movie was not shot with 3D cameras, this part would be so epic. Just like the "Clevver Girl" scene.

  • I remember days when I shitted my pants just because of this scream (or roar to call it).... Nice days :)

  • I watch cattle get out of their pens all the time... That is very fair movement for something that has just exited their living space. I am DEAD SERIOUS. Good job.

  • Is it me or did the T-Rex get smaller in the 3rd Jurassic Park? In the first two, the T-Rex was the most menacing and intimidating thing in the whole movie, and then the spinosaurus just killed the whole thing. I'm not taking a side in this whole T-Rex/Spino war but still, the spino just wasn't as menacing as T-Rex was.

  • who had said us then t rex would appear in king kong

  • to tell the truth it really doesn't look like CGI its THAT good

  • Definitely one of the best CGI out there, no doubt!!! One of My favorite movies!

  • Definitely some of the best CGI out there. A lot of people overdo it and make it look horribly fake.

  • @blackwaterll Me too! I was 6 when I saw this moovie...but it was soo well done, that I had nigthmares with him/her!

  • 1st time I saw the T-rex come out of its cage I nearly crapped myself. Imagine it, an almost primeval fear shoots up through you at everything you had ever known about a T-Rex, and there it is in front of you within biting range. I know it's just a movie, but that was so well done it felt real to me. Still does...

  • wheres king kong when you need him

  • most of my childhood movies age worst then i remember, but almost 20 years later jurrassic park still has the best special effects

  • i watched this movie resently on dvd all i can say is wow this came out in 91!!!! not even avatar had cgi as good as this nowhere! :0

  • how did they manage to get such good CGI back then? wow

  • @MRH3LO they knew how to use it in good taste =P

  • @joecracknsheeba2 Actually, a chap called Boomerjinks made a replica of the Jeeps used in this film, and included this T-Rex roar as the honk of the Jeep.

  • This looks better than the T rex in JP III and it was like 10 years before! what an entrance!

  • I wonder how they managed to make such realistic CGI back then even the CGIs today can't make it.

  • DAMN he's beautiful...

  • @DarkVHS you mean she's beautiful remember according to the movie there was not one male species until the second movie

  • in JP3 they should have had the spino surrounded by rex's at the end - you mess with rex, you mess with rex's family! LOL

  • @bloodyusernamedammit

That scene was dumb anyway...I dont take a side in the fight, but its a scientific fact that T-rex had twice (if not more) the bite power of spino (or any other super predator) he would have killed spino the second he bit his neck.

  • Sometimes I find it hard to believe that an animal like that actually walked around one day, unbelievable.

  • When I saw this as a kid I crapped my pants

  • even for a film from 1993 this is realy good animation!

  • id love to see this T-rex v spinosaurus.

this T-rex would destroy the spinosaurus in jurassic park 3

  • Why is it that the special effects in JP1 and even JP2 are so much better than JP3? When I watch JP3 (especially the T-rex vs Spino scene) I feel like I'm watching a video game.

  • Best Entrance ever Love the T-rex.

  • Thank you Steven S. for not putting aliens in this movie.

  • 2 words describe this moment.

    OH SHIT.

  • i want his roar..to be the honk of my car O_O

  • @joecracknsheeba2 .....horn ffs

  • @KnightOfTheRealm1 right *wink and gun* ;D

  • Boy do I hate being right all the time

  • I do. So do you love me?? Hunh? Do love me, hunh, hunh? Okay......I don't. But we can pretend I do. What's it from? I know you won't tell me.

  • No words can describe how captivated I was by this movie. It turned me into a dinosaur nut as a kid. It's been about 15 years since then and I'm so fucking happy that they are making Jurassic Park 4 finally.

  • One word: FUCK!!!!!

  • I hate being right all the time.....

  • this mama and the balrog -epitome of cgi.

  • "After 65 Million years, I'm finally free"

  • What's the matter, kid? You never had lamb chops?

  • @DecmanReturns You know...I'm vegetarian.

  • Best. Entrance. Ever. Of all time.

  • Masterpiece of movie scenes

  • my favorite Spielberg movie hands down!

  • I would so shit myself if i saw that in fron of me...

  • The best CGI moment in history.

  • its amazing that the cgi in this movie is the most realistic i have ever seen and this movie came out in 1993. its just so unbelievable how real it looks especially the shots of the t rex. this movie was by far ahead of its time

  • @JeremyLadasChannel I feel and have always thought the same way, I mean they een put te little touches of the splashing water and mud squelching when her foot hits the ground. And it's a friggin wide shot and from far away. This has to go down in the history books as more important than that average Avatar. People weren't expecting this back then, these days we always expect another Avatar.

  • @ViceCityVacation exactly back then the people who saw this in theaters probably just couldn't believe it lol

  • @JeremyLadasChannel Hahahaha yeah it was exactly like that. After dad took me and my bro to see it at the premiere, we came up with a way to get our grandparents to take us. We told them we hadn't seen it yet and boy o boy they had no idea what to expect. My very strict oldschool roman catholic grandma, with a so so english accent was like, "Oh my goodneshhh....I can't beleef et!!!" Lol. And when that lawyer copped it on the toilet, she screamed and laughed. Ahhh good times.

  • @ViceCityVacation you: "I can't... believe it..."

"*facepalm* god dang it nappa..." if you get that joke I love you :D

  • Even in 2011 this would be great...if you notice they even had the fence move when she walked out of her pen...true GENIUS. And yes the Spino would have gotten his ass kicked if they had stuck to a more realistic fight in JP3 I hope they correct themselves in the JP4 cause it's official theyre making it

  • @thenativemc I know, I'm so freakin excited!!! This was by far my fav movie as a lil kid, I saw this at the premiere in a more than packed out theatre. People were sittin in the isles, adults were some of the most impressed by it. I had this massive 6'4" dude sittin behind me, kickin my chair, from jumpin outta fright. You just don't get that sort of experience anymore. I was 11 yrs old, damn....I hope Stan Winston Workshop is still around? Are they? Hope they get used in the movie.

  • @thenativemc

T-rex had 2-3 times the bite strength of spino (its a scientific fact). T-rex would kick spinos ass.

  • This scene, the raptors in the kitchen and the long grass scene in the Lost World Jurassic park used to give me nightmares and some of the weirdest dreams ever. There was this one dream i remember where i had a pet T-rex whom i was training just using my belt. I was getting chased by the borg from Star Trek and there seemed to be a tornado where ever i went

  • @americassunrise oh yeah, well i had a dream where this t-rex was chasing me around wall-mart, and then when it caught me, it raped me...

  • WTF

    IS DIS REAL?

  • Ahhhh I knew I shoulda put a manual override system in those Fords in case the tourists had drive the hell out-a-there.

    Oh well!

  • i cant believe i was one years old when this movie came out, still this is the best scene ever and the scene where the trex chases the jeep, amen for CGI in the 1993s

  • He's so cute! ^_^

  • boy do i hate being right all the time..

  • I was 5 years old when my family took me to see this badass movie. Sadly though, I was too tired and slept through the whole thing. haha

  • 0:08 best part

  • "When you gotta go, you gotta go."

"God, I hate being right all the time."

  • I got to see this in theatre (on 35mm) last night. While I have abused my VHS tape for 10 years, followed by a great deal of watches on other home-media, enough to know every second by heart, this scene gave me goose bumps to see on the big screen.

Too bad it was a local cinemateque one-off event, I'd gladly pay full ticket price and go again.

The movie is good on DVD, amazing in theatre.

  • @rastamahn F@#k Oath!!! This was by large and far, the best movie ever played at theatres. It was truly made for it, literally!!! A close second would be T2 and True Lies. And King Kong 2005. Perfect movies for the theatre experience. And if they would re-release Star Wars 1,2 & 3 in hi-def, then them as well. Other greats are like Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Under Seige(Yes Under Seige lol) , Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypse Now, Casino, Die Hard 3 anything on a big/epic scale : )

  • @rastamahn BTW, you lucky bastard ; ) I'm jealous.

  • @ViceCityVacation Hehe, yeah. Hollywood is busy remaking every film they've made in the past 20 years now it seems... Why not just, re-release the original in theatres again. I'd gladly pay for my ticket(s). ^^

  • @rastamahn Oh definitely!!! Hell yeah, that would be the best idea.

  • One of the most iconic moments.in Universal pictures and Hollywood and the most iconic in the JPs movies

  • If only the T-Rex in JP: The Game was as big as this one...what the hell happened?

  • Seamless editing. Perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • See, even the mighty T-rex knows to look both ways before crossing the street!

  • @GrantHlLL AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! nice one!

  • @GrantHlLL lmao!!!

  • even though this is at night, I still say BEST CGI EVER

  • @Casarzino It really is. Everything from the blending of the lightning of the Trex and the texture and animation, it looks like he's really there.

  • @Casarzino AGREE!!!This scene is amazing. When the T-rex breaks through the fence it looks sooooo real. And 1993!

  • @Casarzino This video should be the highest ranked video on youtube, if only for this comment. Bravo my friend. Everbody...vote this Casarzino fella up, lets give JP the due respect it deserves!!!

  • @Casarzino - Or best animatronic =P

  • @Casarzino Well, this is ILM. We've come to expect the best from them.

  • this was the most exciting scene in the whole movie.

  • God, that T-Rex was in 1993, it's 2011. Imagine how BIG she is now!!! She would f*cking STEP on Spino!!!!

  • when u gotto go , you gotto go ....

  • R.I.P goat.

  • @hiimjenki2 Hahahaha I know. He was a trooper and will be dearly missed.

  • Any way you can post the whole goat, nightvision, breakout and attack scene?

  • This is my all time favorite scene in all of cinema history. Nobody could've of pulled it off better than Speilberg. The movie was wonderful but it was THIS scene that seperated it from past dinosaur movies and launched it above all expectations. Everything comes together brilliantly; from the ILM CGI, to the sound editing, to Spielberg's camera angles, to Rick Baker's animtronic... more heart and soul put in this scene alone than most movies made today.

  • @FAON1886 Amen to that!!!

  • Most awesome CGI scene EVER. It's weird that back in 1993 they made these creatures look almost real, but nowadays they don't even come close.

  • @veldhuizenhenk Nowadays we are USED to se CGI that looks very very real, 1993 we weren't.

  • best part for the Trex in the whole movie. classic

  • aww, i wanted to hear both roars, oh well, still an awsome roar and entrance for the king of the dinosaurs!

  • Oh hey T! How's it goin?

  • Best. Special. Effects. Ever.

  • wow 138 likes and 0 dislikes :)

  • @BombHead2011 There's a reason why : )

  • Person in the jeep: God I hope he's not attracted to poop, cuz I just made some T.T

  • Classic

  • What's sad is that CGI today is never as good as this :S

  • @planetary109

it honestly blows my mind. this was made in 93.

  • del 93 y tiene pedazos de efectos visuales!! steven geniOO!!!

  • Saw this in the cinema yesterday. Oh my god it was amazing O_O

  • amazing *___*

  • One of the reasons why Jurassic Park is my favorite film of all time. CGI is still better than most movies today. Nothing will beat it terms of pure epicness.

  • Still looks so great, actually better than most CGI today.

  • Best entrance ever.

One thing I do not understand is that this movie was the first to implement living animals through CGI and is still the best to date.

After watching dozens of NGC HD and History HD documentaries, you see it is rubbish. Even in 2011. Industrial Light and Magic are the best.

While watching other movies with CGI, you are able to see it is fake. When watching this movie I am still baffled that it looks so convincing. It is already 18 years ago, really what is going on here?

  • @MandatoryTube Hmmmm I think Spielberg's secret is out. He has certainly kept the dinos well hidden for all these years.

  • @MandatoryTube Exactly, I've been watching a series on BBC 1 called 'Planet Dinosuar' and can't help noticing this. While it is a very good program and extremely interesting, the textures and movement of the dinosaurs don't stand a chance against JP.

  • @MandatoryTube

Feels like most of the CGI today is just there to be those shining, sparkling keys that dangles in front of little kids eyes

"Ooooh, look at the keys, look at the keys!"

    Not ALL, but most

  • @SolidMike84

I experience the exact same thing. A shame really that ,no offence, amateur people are able to see what is good an bad CGI. Special effects studios should really scratch the back of their head and make work out of this, because that is just laughable with the budget the have nowadays.

  • @MandatoryTube

Feels & looks more organic with JP and that's why I often prefer old school effects (big fan of stopmotion ala Ray Harryhausen ^^)

It just looks like it belongs there rather than the CGI that looks like it doesn't belong there at all

Would be nice with a balanced CGI & organic look and feel to it (like JP)

Also feels like the acting plays second fiddle to CGI now

But that's just my opinion, guess it makes me an "old nostalgic idiot who should return to my cave", it often does ^^

  • @SolidMike84

But considering this scene, I am glad they have picked CGI over stop-motion. The raptor scene was the best stop-motion, with the nail on the floor. Still gives chills down my spine.

  • @MandatoryTube ILM are the Beethoven's and the Da Vinci's of the CGI world, as was Stan Winston Workshop of the animatronics world. These guys are wizards, no one even comes close. Except Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop in New Zealand, they are possibly the 'next' ILM. James Camerons personal effects company(sorry don't know the name. Don't care!!!) and all the others, even Lucas Arts, are just carbon copies playing catch up.

  • Looks amazingly realistic. Beats ANYTHING produced today.

  • i hate being right all the time!

  • tyranosaurus tv :)) lol

  • We have a T-Rex!

  • avatar has nothing on this

  • @teambringit95 THUMBS UP!!!!! Lol totally agree!!!

  • thats proffesional works made with brain not the shit now, thinking about money and shit

  • You'd think CGI today would look better than in 1993, right Dragonball eEvolution? >(

  • Can't wait to see this scene in full HD with lossless audio when the blu-ray finally comes out.

  • @CoolCarlos1985 I know! October 24th :-O

  • Animatronics are great. It's 2011, and this still looks better (and more realistic) then many things produced today.

  • when i first saw this scene i was young now when i look at this scene im like O SHIT JUST GOT REAL

  • G.T.F.O!!!

  • EXTREMELY good graphics for 1993, I remember watching other movies from that decade with CGI and it looks like crud now, but now JP!!!!

  • thumbs up if you think this t-rex would fuck up the spinosaurus in jurassic park 3!

  • @teambringit95 Lets see...JP3 Spinosaurus is 16ft tall, and 43ft long. This T-rex is 20ft tall and 46ft long. It was debated on forums yrs ago, that the First Rex from Isle Nublar, would "RAPE-STOMP" the Spinosaurus ^_^....so yes....you get my vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @teambringit95 I agree with you on that since her size as 46 feet long and 20 feet tall and the spinosaur was only 43 feet long and 16 feet tall so this trex would win

  • WAIT... 1992: Spielburg thinks WERE MAKE CG monsters... and now 17-08-2011 almost 20 years later is it the best cg work still iv'e evers seen.

  • ahhh... my favorite Dinosaur... the T-Rex... this is a classic scene I'll always remember... my second favorite being the Raptor ofcourse... my second favorite scene is when the 2 Raptors are in the kitchen at the restaraunt and the 2 kids are hiding in the cabinets

  • can't wait for the blueray edition !!!

  • best. CGI. ever.

  • One of if not the Greatest Predator to ever walk the earth goes to ''Tyrannosaurus Rex''

  • this hasn't aged badly. it still looks very impressive

  • Its roar is a baby elephant mixed with a tiger and an alligator, and its breath is a whale's blow. A dog attacking a rope toy was used for the sounds of it tearing a Gallimimus apart.

  • it will look even better on blu-ray i think

  • It's growl that it does before and after the roar is an actual sound made by an elephant.

  • It sounds like a lion's roar at the beginning

  • @theGMANtheBOSS Correct it is a lion. But not a roar, it's called a 'low and deep gutteral growl'. : )

  • 0:11 Imagine if you saw that out of your windshield on Route 104

  • @Sorvos I did not even realize this was two roars connected! I have not watched Jurassic Park for a while, so I thought this was 1 roar! Amazing how TyrannosaurusTV made the scene so smooth.

  • That T-Rex is saying, "BACKTHAHELLUP!"

  • God, I just fucking love the pose at 0:08, it truly says " I AM the monarch of the mesozoic, I AM THE KING OF THE DINOSAURS!"

  • T-Rex: "Can anybody provide me with a decent challenge???"

  • The T-Rex made her grand entrance in becoming a childhood favorite

  • LOOK AT HIS ARMS!!!

  • This movie is nearly 20 years old and it still looks great.

  • the t rex on the book could carry the land cruiser so they made this t rex smaller lol the other t rex must had been huge. my friends dont understand how movies like jaws jurassic park host busters are nooby since they are old but i think they are the best any one think of some i can tell him to make him like good old movies than crappy new movies?

  • Why did the T-Rex look both ways before crossing the road?

Who cares...he ate the damn guy on the toilet seat, lulz!

  • wow these effects even surpass some of today's science fiction movies...Jurassic Park=Classic

  • The Awesome and Powerful.....Tyrannosaurus Rex

  • Dang I never noticed a discrepancy in how it roars. But It's about a third as climactic done this way ;) You need that second roar in the theatre, to revel and steep in the awe.

  • trex is one off the baddiest dinosaurs around it has a attatuide if you got a problem deal with it

  • @TyrannosaurusTV Anyway, you still did a great job. There is no delay, nothing that shows the jump from one scene to the other. Nice! ;)

  • How did you connect the two scenes so smoothly? Because there are two roars in the movie, separated by "I hate being right all the time" scene.

  • @Sorvos Well, just a little tinkering with my old Sony Vegas 8.0 editing software. I'm happy I was able to separate Dr. Malcolm's line while making it appear that the T-rex only roared once in the scene. =)

  • My favourite moment of the first movie, just an awesome scene for it's time and it's still one of the best i've seen to this date.

  • T-rex is bad-ass!!!!!!!!

  • Hey mom, can we watch Jurassic Park?

    Hey, where are the dinosaurs.

    This is boring me.

    *Sees T-Rex entrance*

This is the best movie ever!

    (That was me years ago.)
