Mondays promo showed me a lot of things and one was that this fued is going to get better and the rumble match between punk and ziggler is going to be one to watch. I've actually really started to enjoy Big Johnny as Raw GM over the past few weeks, I like where they are going with his character. Also, since he has been the GM, Raw has been significantly better in my opinion.

No. People just don't fucking like them. Alicia Fox got booed when she beat Beth Phoenix on Raw because people DON'T LIKE HER. Laurinatis is getting Cole's "Shut the fuck up" heat not because he's playing a good heel (which he HASN'T; he's been nearly neutral this whole time), but because are sick of him sucking.

Notice I said MICHEAL COLE HEAT. As in "You're not a good villain, you're an overbearing annoying twat that we SERIOUSLY hate" heat (which even STILL applies to X-Pac BEFORE he even turned face)
And he has been near neutral up until last week where he "lost it" (with atrociously bad acting that he can't pull off). He was CONSTANTLY flip flopping between helping out the heels and faces to the point Punk almost looked like the heel for being such a dick to him.

THAT'S how you do a sly, slow burn heel turn where he's leannning toward the dark side, but you just don't know if he's quite there yet. Maybe he does care that much for AJ and is legitimately upset at Show, or maybe he just used her to get into Show's head. HES playing the much more convincing "mind games" heel.

The different reactions of Cole and Lawler on commentary should have helped you establish that. And here we reach the crux of the matter; it seems you need everything that everyone is doing to be spelled out for you. You'll probably never get this angle, because you obviously don't pay enough attention.

@bouncingboredom i agree with you, but i think their point is that its the wrong kind of heel heat, that the fans just dont want to see johnny ace at all, for most people he just came out of nowhere with no talent and became raw gm, the difference with johnny ace and the great heels like ziggler for instance, dolph gets booed but the crowd can still see that he is talented and respect him. but i agree i do think that johnny ace as improved since getting on wwe tv and is genuinely over.

The best heels have NO redeeming features, ask Jericho or Edge they say it all the time, being respected for talent is a redeeming feature, Jonny Ace is even less charismatic on-screen than off becausse it makes the fans hate him, people wanna see Punk kick his ass and that's the heels one job, make people wanna see them get beat up.
