I heard this Saturday night at a pool party, had a few cocktails and smoked a bit, the sky was clear and starry. Just a terrific night, such a fitting song.
@southparkboy119 and one more thing, i think Lady Gaga is overrated, that's my opinion though, but anyways although i dont think she's the greatest, i think some of her songs have good messages, i just used her as an example out of the many artists from today that people critique as being over-excessive. I added this last message for some support, please don't hate me for filling up the comment section, and your message box about my comments =/ SORRY PEOPLE!
@southparkboy119 usive to a certain gender, race, orientation, culture, etc. I'm a guy but still find all those songs powerful in their own way. Some of todays stuff is crass, but some of yesterdays stuff was, too, and the day before and so on. This isnt directed just towards you "southparkboy119" but to anyone who reads this: Don't let nostalgia get in the way all the time, its annoying. Oh and two more things, also listen to "Beautiful World" by Utada Hikaru... and south park is hilarious!
@southparkboy119 are many music artists that make inspirational songs... i know these arent many people's cups of tea but... Hilary Duff: "Why Not," "I Am," "Fly" ... Aly and AJ: "Rush," "On the Ride" those two artists are mainstream, i think, but those songs are very good also: Yellowcard: "Believe"... Jonsi!!!! : like all of his songs, "Go Do," and "Boy Lilikoi" are two good ones, and even Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" has a good, heartwarming message, and the songs that i mentioned aren't excl
@southparkboy119 I like this song, the beat and voice are in unison and very calming, to me anyway. But, the debate between 90's music and today's is biased. I find that i miss stuff from the 90's but if i think about it, some of the stuff back then can be considered as ridiculous as today's. And on the flip side some songs/tv shows/etc now are as good as the 90's. Ex1. this song talks about getting high and about champagne (an alcoholic beverage!!!), not a very good topic for kids. Ex2. there
Obviously there are 14 people out there who have no idea how 2 appreciate gr8 music.Have already introduced this 2 my baby son.In no doubt whatsoever he will be enjoying oasis when hes my age.Classic songwriting;)))
That's a pretty generalized statement. Let's not forget NKOTB in the early 90s, Backstreet Boys & NSYNC were biggest in that decade... not to mention there are some really good bands from this era (The Mars Volta, Revocation, etc.)
@dogzer Hey now, its a little offensive to rope the homosexuals in with people who don't like this song. I mean homosexuals can be perfectly nice people, while people who dislike Oasis are all just fucking pricks.
I'm a black dude that mostly listens ti hip hop, but i love track that make me think about smoking weed! and i LOVE this track! My favorite part is 6:08 and on, "we were getting high, we were getting high" I'm bout to roll up some purple kush right now!
Music from the 90's i think is really underappreciated, i think kids could actually benefit from hearing good and decent music from this era than the teeny-bopper decadence they have in abudance today.
@californiancheese I believe "Bitterweet Symphony" by the Verve is just as powerful, "Tonight, Tonight" by the Smashing Pumpkins is one of my favourites, "When i come around" by Green Day," and also Only in Dreams" by Weezer, and also if you wanted to look at other genres of music but also had an impact i'd say "Dear Mama" by Tupac, "Juicy" by The Notrious B.I.G and to me all these songs are great because i never knew how relevant they could be until now
@czechdog2 True, Kurt Cobain was indeed an influential figure in his lifetime and left a lot behind, but i like to think that he's found some measure of peace wherever he is and personally I'm grateful for the music that hes left behind whether or not people know much about or even like it, i think like songs from Oasis and other artists, they simply speak to the soul.
