Great question. GRE tunnels (for the most part) have to manually configured, with the source and destination.
With MPLS, once it is enabled globally and on its respective interfaces, it automatically creates Label Switched Paths (LSPs) that are based on the current routing tables on those devices.
Dude, this video is awesome! Sigh I wish I had like $100,000 dollars worth of equipment to work on now so I can get my CCNA and all the way up to a CCIE. UGH... I was born for this stuff...
Kid. you are my hero ! thanks a lot for your video. if one day you come to south america, you have a barbecue and a house in front of the beach guaranteed.
*BOOM SPLURGE* That's the sound of my mind imploding with acronym over load! Food for thought and copious amounts of reading around the subject of MPLS...I think so. Cheers.
i don't understand, what is the difference between mpls and a normal tunnel, like GRE ?

The vid does a great job of refreshing concepts quickly for engineers and an amazing job just explaining MPLS and L3VPNs to non-techs.
