  • i don't understand, what is the difference between mpls and a normal tunnel, like GRE ?

    Great question. GRE tunnels (for the most part) have to manually configured, with the source and destination.

    With MPLS, once it is enabled globally and on its respective interfaces, it automatically creates Label Switched Paths (LSPs) that are based on the current routing tables on those devices.
