@grievesr Hi there - no, I wouldn't for a couple of reasons. First, it's a long tune, Second, it is quite a controversial tune and some judges HATE it while others love it. Some of the more famous players like Donald MacLeod and John D Burgess really rushed the tune along in the variations. For a first tune I'd stick to something recommended by the College in their Book 4. Thanks for listening.
I have the carbon fibres...I used Omegas a long time ago before they were Crozier but haven't had the guts to try the cane ones. Omegas too finnicky for me especially in cooler, damp climates (Scotland most of the time) as a lot of the reed is metal. I like these so no plans to change...
