I was given a Black Stallion Cap HC - 4 made by new era written on the piping under the peak was the name BANUT the guy who gave me it said the helicopters landed on a beach and one of the crew gave it to him. Anyone remember BANUT
This was a Hard Chargin Squadron, A LOT of hours I spent working to set the bar as a Plankowner. Demanding to say the least and maintanance was always going on 24/7..No Rest for the Wicked..1983-86
This squadron was a perfect example to the effects of piss poor leadership: needless death, broken careers, and the loss of millions in tax payer money. The senior officers should have been horse whipped for what they allowed to happen to this unit and its sailors.
