  • Why do people love being religious ITS NOT FUN AT ALL, i love jesus though. Retard does add a good plot twist though

  • Wanna take a ride? Yeah, he's not creepy at all.

  • Gotta love all the extras in blue and white overalls.

  • 9:40 favorite scene

  • I do believe in God.

I do believe in Jesus Christ.

    I do believe in religion.

I do NOT believe in fanaticism.

  • @TheCoolProfessor I do believe in fairies! I do believe in fairies! I do believe in fairies!

  • So nice when they make a Movie and the Females in it... get to keep their clothes on and don't have to degrade themselves by doing raunchy sex scenes that have nothing what-so-ever with the plot.

  • I like Tom Skerritt rocks but he is such a weasel scumbag in this film! He totally stole a great discovery and the fame and glory from Jodie Foster's character! Yet the sumbitch got his comeuppance in the end! Fuck him!

  • Damn It Jake Busey WTF mang!

  • 12:31, it will certainly pissed off the USA government if first contact is made with a non-American, especially with the Chinese or the Russians.

  • I was so fucking happy when that guy Drumlin got blown up, arrogant thief, backstabber and jerk, he deserved everything he got.

  • wow what a cool effects on 07:00

  • Here's a riddle. A symbol of the atom = a hexagram. A man in a circle = a pentagram in a circle. What do you spell? It's Mind Changing.

  • that weird crazy scientist stalker thats on the spacestation now for cancer ruins the whole attempt to be realistic and plausible of this movie. This guy is too cartoonish even for a marvel comic.

  • @manwithouthat44 Crazy scientist stalker = anton levey

  • @manwithouthat44 Crazy scientist stalker = aleister crowley like lavey, they have the same haircut.

  • Der var en brystsvag pige på hospitalet, og hun døde en forfærdelig død i følge teksten i denne sørgelige sang fra det forrige århundrede !

  • Wanna take a ride. CLASIC !

  • @dukieboy007 truly is!!

  • Suicide Pill. Reasons they can't think of?

    1) Suddenly appearing naked, squatting on the altar in the middle of Princess Diana's funeral service.

  • I believe in god, I DONT believe in religion

  • @buffaloSabrespommy That is called Sanity

  • @buffaloSabrespommy wtf am I reading?

  • 11:38, tried to find this place in Hokkaido, it does not exist.

  • who cares anyway, as long as the commies or the lesbians don't get hold of this technology

  • You have to take the RFID chip?

  • What an extraordinary actress Jodie is, her terrified expression on 7:01 is amazing and all her acting trough out this movie, she really nailed the character (and Tom Skerritt too). Pity Carl never got to see the movie. I am wondering if there is going to be a second part ever with Zemeckis directing. What a classic movie, I love it a lot.

  • I have always laugh at how NASA announces every single Space Suttle launch with a radio cavalry intro.:"Liftoff...liftoff!! of the space shuttle STS-10...so forth and so on, that will put the Pentagon satellite 6666 in orbit to watch where all the weapons of mass destruction are hidden", it just cracks me up every time I hear it. Though is kinda classic...I really miss the space shuttle program hope something better is coming to replace it, like...Saturn V or VI.

  • I loved t when the dickhead got blown away.

And it doesnt have to be one or the other, believing in science doesnt mean you have to disbelieve in God--- science prooves the existance of GOD, the deeper scientist go the more that they discover their is a defnite intelligent desighner behind it all. Saying there s no God bc of cultish religions is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

  • 7:06 and this is why.. religion must die.

  • @SuperJavie001 I wouldn't say that religion necessarily has to die, just religious fundamentalism & fanaticism. Too many Xtians in the US have been brainwashed into thinking their interpretation of Jesus' word is supposed to govern the nation & that it means hatred of gay people, poor people, single parents & non-Xtians. That CANNOT happen.

  • @thespiritualrising by you saying that... You confirm you know nothing of your god.

  • 7:06...and this is the result of "God"

  • if 1 doesnt believe in god which created this amazing universe, of course everyone is entitled 2 their opinion..........i for 1 believe in god the creator.........

  • The guy at 5:50 is the white haired preacher dude a few clips back. I've seen this movie a hundred times and hadn't noticed yet. Doh.

  • Atheist are the new religious fanatics.

  • @menacingshadows If you've watched this film, you can clearly see that the guy who blew up the machine was the white-haired preacher guy a few clips earlier.

  • @menacingshadows

And bald is the new hairy

  • idk about the rest of you but i screamed "ALLAN ACKBAR" @ 7:00 XP

  • I think we can all agree in that the blond nutjob probably had a very screwed-up childhood.

  • Whoaa wait no def didn't suck haha

  • No! That twist sucked

  • the past 20yrs has seen science progress more so than in the last 3000yrs for example, now we cannot not do without computers, moblile phones, and numerous other things, and the things are are to come in the future will overcome religion with science. thats will be mankinds biggest mistake.........for one i do believe in a creator of everything.........god

  • @antaressuper1966 The toughest part is not destroying ourselves over "who has the best skydaddy". Science built the planes, religion flew them into buildings. Science has no agenda other than to further our understanding of the universe and presents no threat to a peaceful species. If we give it a proper change, we might figure out which gods do exist and which ones don't.

  • I like how the commander guy says, "back to your stations" after the machine blows up...why? The thing is destroyed!

  • freaky looking, radical, religious nut actually saves the day. if it weren't for him, the "overcooked ham" would've made contact vs ellie.

  • I suggest before we do shit like this, we forcefully relocate every single f***ing families with even the slightest tint of religion 50 km from the site and screen every single onsite support crew for anything unusual. We cannot progress if people like this f***er tries to stop it.

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 chill pill

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."

"And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas, and God bless all of you"

  • @SCE2AUX

The overwhelming majority of Americans then and now are Christians...

  • @TheVoiceOfReason93 True...but practically everyone in the world with access to a TV or radio was tuned in to that broadcast.

  • Hadden looks like a freakin alien

  • i believe in God, but i dont believe people. Any religious fundamentalist are dangerous.

  • "Hey I don't know if this is important but I just found this extra page in the assembly instructions that says-WARNING: DO NOT DETONATE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES NEAR THE MACHINE WHEN IN OPERATION AS STRUCTURAL FAILURE MAY RESULT. SUCH ACTION WILL VOID WARRENTY."

  • "Wanna take a ride?". Yeaaa Why not?

  • @tehc4ncer if they're too expensive or busy,try china,singapore,or malaysia...funny guy

  • How did that guy into that pod .....WITH A BOMB STRAPPED TO HIM NO LESS-------without anyone noticing??

  • @HappyGolucky0999 No, I don't think nobody notice or something. But then, the movie would end and no thriller was ever used in the movie.

  • How thoughtful of them to give her a killer pill o_O

  • "I always believed the world is what we make of it." So true! I hate religion. I don't believe in god... I believe in Love! May science lead the way<3

  • @WillerRemyMa well i believe in god but i still think science is a good thing

  • @WillerRemyMa LOVE --> EVOL. AMOR / ROMAnticize.... look before you leap to a CONclusion! Ever seen yourself unreversed in a mirror? truemirror-dot-com

  • @WillerRemyMa God is love :)

  • @WillerRemyMa You believe in love, yet you hate?

  • @samysasy419 Yup, I "hate" hate...and scriptured western religions have brought nothing but hate!

  • @WillerRemyMa So what you're saying is that it's okay for you to hate because they hate? Yet, you're the one claiming to be the more enlightened....? Your logic is incredibly flawed my friend.

  • @samysasy419 i dont HATE nobody. notice that I marked "hate". nowadays hate can just mean dislike or annoyed, as im sure you know. but I get it's harder to tell, when you use the word hate in writing, and not in person. and yes, im flawed, and I wouldn't have it any other way :),

  • @WillerRemyMa I never said you were flawed, I said your logic was flawed. And I do think you meant it, and that's okay, just don't say one thing, and contridict it in the next sentence.

  • @samysasy419 you dont get it, but we can agree to disagree :)

  • @WillerRemyMa Whatever dude. This is the internet, I can clearly see what you typed, you can't hide anything. "I hate religion. I don't believe in god... I believe in Love!" Choose your words carefully next time.

  • @samysasy419 my words were chosen very carefully, im not hiding anything, nor am i taking it back :) good day

  • @WillerRemyMa I never said you had to take it back, all I did was point out that you contradicted yourself in your comment. See ya, whatever...

  • @WillerRemyMa oh u rly need help thn....cnt u c whr scienc has led us??....we r on da verge of nuclear war.....

  • @WillerRemyMa Let Love lead us then to it's originator ........ The Most High. Contacts, in this movie, equals demons. Contact WILL be made soon and you'll see who the real silly dreamers are. Instead of a big expensive mechanical transporter, a circle with pentagram on a floor would do the same like the people behind this movie. Shalom

  • 12:24 fisheye lens Win!

  • This "religious" man who blew himself up, is in fact not really religious, if he was he would not go against God's will, and God's will would not be to kill another and end his own life also. God calls us to love each other as we love ourselves. If he really believed in God he would not have done this. All he did was to portray a wrongful image of God.

  • @Lordyourmyrock

Amen to that! The same goes for all those suicide bombers out there in whatever countries they do that......'god' never asked us to kill ourselves for him, to give us life and then to tell us to end it simultaneously for him, if in fact, they have spoken to God......which is very, very unlikely!!

  • Wanna take a ride? !!

    HELL YEAHH!

  • Mmm, two machines built simultaneously, one of them by a very powerful and obviously well connected billionaire industrialist (Mr. Hadden) and the situation full of political conspiracy. I wonder if Mr. Hadden helped with the sabotage of the first machine so Dr. Arroway could go in the second one.

  • Religion, this is why we can't have nice things

  • @rcm2680 Religion is the enemy of mankind ...

  • guys guys..its only a movie.....

  • Building the machine is so irresponsible!

  • Cant fucking stand fundies! They are everything that is wrong with humanity.

  • Future of WBC

  • jake busey didnt look like a muslim

  • On 11:30 min it give Not a Island on the worldmap... With this dates

  • @chanker007 You are correct, i'm sure of it. I scanned the coast of hokkaido looking for the location, be a great holiday destination obviously the "second machine" is not real but even so to go to the location would be an adventure. But does it exist? did i miss something?

  • Religious opportunist and zeolot end up cancelling each other out in satisfying albeit costly explosion, leaving evidence-led atheist clear to go boldly and explore the universe... I think Carl was hinting a cheeky funny ironic answer to Ellie's last selection panel question XD

  • how could they have let that bomber in there ??

  • @creativeprojects720 Good question. Hadden?

  • @creativeprojects720 The movie was shot before 9-11 and most huge security safety stuff maybe

  • mathematics is the only truly universal language and please let's communicate instead of hate peace we come in...

  • @chazzcleo 01010000 01101001 01110011 01110011 00100000 01101111 01100110 01100110

  • WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF -_____________-;

  • Humans fuk up EVERYTHING------Yet, we are ALL a DOUBLE Standard.

  • the need to force others to conform to our ways of believe is so overwhelming that we would go to such length to even commit the most horrendous act of evil in order to achieve the greatest of evil, enlavement of others in the name of God.

  • @kuvceebxab1 what you are referring to is totalitarianism as in statism, legalism, facism, nazism, communism, leninism, stalinism, maoism, clintonism, and obamunism

  • they've already made this machine, reverse engineering of the Cochlea of the Inner Ear and pineal gland,

too many people sleeping, they hide the truth right in front of your face

  • As if that idiot would get through all that security and no one would identify his face after he's been spewing venom and hate for weeks around the place. LOL

  • what was that she was holding in her hand?

  • waytogo church guy

  • @Evaese funny

  • Hadden is an equivalent of Carl Sagan!! He is an Absolute Genius!!!!

  • ...Yeah, that settles it. S.R. Hadden is totally a James Bond villain.

  • ... .. when i say "populas" i mean't whats deemed rght by those parties or groups.

Just remember that such groups or societies don't last. Their self destructive, or volatile.

  • @kares334 let's see a god loving MAN vs an atheists WOMEN. no brain-er the man wins every time, lol

  • I stated that Law of Love to make a point. I think it might hav still been misinterpreted. We apply this law to other societies, or those groups that have structured themselves different from the common law. So we implement a guideline to follow. Others may not "play" by the same rules. So to better understand and not be bias or judgemental.. or simply to make sure that the innocent is redeemed(at timesby populas), and guilty penalized, this law goes into effect. PPL may not go by soc. doctrines

  • i am having a problem downloading this video... and only in this part. could anyone tell me why???

  • 7:04 Republicans! Fuck yeah!

  • Religion should take Hollywood's approach.. concentrate on the "Loving" aspect of things. I Believe in religion full heartedly... but to help out those that have a problem with religion and to help those with a faith... that maybe very sensitive and anti-anything that isn't ..."Love" is the Ultimate answer to that enigma!! Always look toward the loving side of the problem. Simply put, "people who do wrong get punished by their sins(sort of), those who do right are praised right". Loves #1 law.

  • lol pale white God worrier. wat would god say to him?

  • @dynospectrum

You're a fucking moron that's what he'd say to the guy:)

    If he exists that is

  • ellie - ele - ELE/nin..... what a coincidence =P

  • Ha - that was the only scene I really remembered from the the film - nice explosion and after effects. The ending of the film was a big let down.

  • just had too be the party pooper lol great movie

  • Why can't they build it again? They have the blue-print still...

  • @blondecat666 the blueprints can be found in area 51. Hollywood is a hint for you.

  • A budget of hundreds of millions and they couldn't afford decent security? Surely a bomb vest would have seemed suspicious?

  • How have I not seen this movie before!!!!

Great film (even if Matthew McConaughey and Rob Lowe are in it :D )

  • Religion is mans feeble attempt to make sense of the things they cant understand. Gods will is always justifiable in the eyes of religion. "oh why would god bring down that airliner full of people and kill of them, why?" "Its because god has a better use for them up in heaven, uh duh." Also always cracks me up that god, a supposedly perfect and devine being every possible way suffers petty human emotions like anger and jealousy. Religion, what a great way to rule the world...and make money.

  • @xXTigerArmyXx

We can understand what God's will is, but 99% of the religious community is either oblivious to it, chose to ignore it completely, or seek to exploit it.

  • Alright guys, who let the albino with the massive jaw and lumpy jumpsuit onto the giant inter-dimensional portal?

  • thats why i hate fucking religion with heart and soul... they always fuck up our science and make us work on things and inventions that should take 1 year instead 100 years cause their religious fucking barriers like this idiot blowing himself up... look back intime all scientist's beeing killed for saying things that were against god... man really dont show me these people in real cause i will stick a knife in them..

  • @twinkstance

humanity has been held back 2000 years because of religion, i really wish we lived in a world with no religion, or dont take it as serious as most people do in this world...

  • @twinkstance religion and science shouldnt be separated.. they should work together as one

  • @wwaade Sure, now you want to control science, too? Religion should be banned.

  • @twinkstance

Actually the oil companies hold back advancement these days :D

  • @twinkstance the more time is the better. In academics (such as publishing research paper or preparing a proposal for an actual research) there is always things that stop/delay you from doing your work! -But this painful system (!) is what made science work like it does today: billion of euros and dolars can be spend effortlessly on obscure space-probe and particle-physic project without any objection/controversy (LHC, Hot Fusion, space probe),

  • @twinkstance Wow.. that was... humane.

  • @twinkstance Yes, because all religious people in the entire world behave like that, regardless of context. Also, no scientist has ever done anything bad in the name of science, ever.

Clearly we should all make emotional, polarizing generalizations rather then aknowledge the immense complexity of human nature. Because it's not like that's *the entire theme of this movie!*

You, sir, would make a *great* scientist.

  • Some of the things I see being said here on behalf of science are rather alarming, particularly the top rated commenter. His rhetoric is just as sinister or even more so than the worse religious fundamentalists. A true scientist and man of reason does not advocate sticking knives in people because they don't think the same way they do. Looks like someone is being a hypocrite.

  • @SpiroHrvoje1989 It's self defense. Yes, I will fucking destroy anyone who would attempt to commit mass murder and destroy possibly the greatest scientific achievement of human history.

Believe what you want, I don't care, just keep it to yourself. If you go around blowing up shit, or try to hold science back (ie actual human progress) I have a serious issue with you.

  • @twinkstance its not religion, its the damn government. theres cures for shit and new cleaner technology that would make life easier but the government doesnt want it.

  • @twinkstance Why don't you go blow up a bunch of religious people, makes you no less of an extremist.

  • @twinkstance You sound quite zealous and looney yourself. Hating an entire belief system with heart and soul and talking about stabbing people...

  • @twinkstance If we dint had religion, we wouldnt have peace!

    Or the crusades

    Or the religious wars

Or the current holy extremist wars

Or the dark ages wich slowed down scientific advances 500 years....

Or the hatred against gay people....

Im running out space to type...dam

  • @F4Wildcat Actually you'd still have hatred against gays. Along with racism, wars, disease, misogyny, murder, etc. Looking at the list of the deadliest wars and conflicts, and you'll discover that religion had little to no role in the deadliest ones. Generalized and naive laundry lists don't analyze the situation.

  • @F4Wildcat or a moral code to give guidance for our behaviors, or an ethical framework in which people could treat each other with respect, or a foundational purpose to life contrary to a meaningless existence. like all things there are GOOD things as well as bad, it is unwise make a blanket statement without seeing the broader perspective.

  • @SocratesTheGadfly Oh,..so your saying not to make "blanket statements" like "Give guidance for OUR behaviors",and "ALL THINGS good and bad"and "Foundational purpose " and "meaningless existence" like those??????????

  • @billy1212ist one of the truisms of life is to NOT argue with idiots because they simply do NOT know any better. as such, I will let you live in the darkness of your own ignorance.

  • @twinkstance no, you are a useless american racist moron, just has useless has the religious extremists who live in your country, i am ever so slightly religious, but unlike you i am not a retarded criminal , so i can understand whats wright and wrong. atheus people are often accused of being a bunch of extremists who want to soppress religion, witch is not thru, becouse atheism is not eaven menth to be a group. you instead, you are the extremist who wants to kill everyone who dosent (CONTINIUE)

  • @twinkstance (CONTINIOUING) belive in exactly the same things has you, you are not any beter than that retard who blew himselfe up, you are no beter than the terrorists who tuck down the twin towers, (who by the way were sponsored by the usa government).and just for information: i do belive in science, i estrapolate god from science, not science from god.anyway, wye do i even explane you, you r probably a 12 years old kid who was brainwashed by the usa government, its not your foalth.

  • @twinkstance need I remind you that science and technology developed the atomic and thermo-nuclear bombs that can wipe out ALL life on this planet. religion has NOT even approached that level of destruction.

  • @twinkstance -You sound angry and uneducated, very uneducated.Hating does not solve anything. And "Sticking a knife in 'them'???" Would accomplish what? Read some history and find out who "Used" the religious people and why? People were dumb and believed the guy in the church,he said he was with god.And so they were ruled.NOW the guy(king) with the Castle, said get them to do what,we will share in what we can get.Church-State Rule. Both wanted people stupid, read don't stick.

    .

  • @twinkstance If there is a God indeed..what will you say 2 him when judgement day comes?

  • @retc90 tell that to the supposed "rapture" that was supposed to occur about a month+ ago?.......that one overly religious preacher for the Rapture is getting ripped apart....:/...lol

  • @retc90 If he was real, and given his all-proclaimed omnipotence, couldn't he read our minds already? and predict the future because of his plan? If so, then he knows what we're going to say and do so appealing to him loses all of its meaning. He knows every human being (you, me, and everyone) are thoroughly fucked in the end. And speaking of the end, how many end-of-the-world days have passed since they were 'prophecized?'

Or....maybe someone just made it all up. We may never know...

  • @twinkstance before religion was introduced to the world everybody coexisted. it is a device to separate people. it is an almighty weapon to self-deplete the population,

  • @twinkstance How are the Anger Management classes coming along for you?

  • @twinkstance haha so you take one sour apple of the whole basket and call it shit? so I can take it that you love the nazi scientists like mengele? using thousands of human test subjects for his f*cked up experiments? you see what i did? using an outlier to make an inference about science like you did with the crazed religious man in this video...youre pathetic

  • @twinkstance you know if you just remove all morals and ethics, we would be almost "light years" ahead of where we are now...think of it, Nazis concentration camps : the human experiments...you know most of our modern discoveries are based on the research done by Dr. Mengele or AKA Dr. Death...so I am kind of glad that religion or something like MORALS/ETHICS that stop us from being monsters like you want science to be...kudos

  • @123trymeout Just think about it, if only the ten commandments prevent somebody to commit murder, wouldn't you afraid of that man? Living ethically is like the basics, you don't need a book to know that killing and stealing is wrong. By the wy what modern "discoveries" are based on the experiments of Nazis with humans? Hitler believed in God, does that make all the other who believe in God bad? I think not. In my opinion believe what you want, but don't try to enforce that on others.

  • @Mogzyx "In my opinion believe what you want, but don't try to enforce that on others." So if I dont believe in man-made Global Warming and you do, is it right for you to force your views on to me?...there is a complete double standard against religion but not science...interesting I think

  • @123trymeout Dude, who talked about global warming? I invented global warming? The layman invented global warming? No. Then try to convert those to your faith who invented GW. By the the way converting doesn't meant to: convert at all cost, if despite all your efforts somebody thinks otherwise, respect their decision. Leben und leben lassen.

  • @twinkstance I love your peace of mind...seriously now they don't deserve hatred,but pity.

  • i used to have a laptop just like that :D

  • No you can't use the space machine, It was already blown up by Jake cockadoodie Busey!
