DAMN!!!!! Sonny Landreth IS EASILY in the top10 guitarist of today and I have never read about him in guitar world or anything!?!? Thats nuts, he has to be the best slide player down to him or Derek and I think Derek would tip his hat to Sonny and you hear about Trucks in every guitar magazine......no Sonny? This is THE dude when it comes to slide, and on a Strat, that thing sounds so amazing. His tone is amazing, is he playing a Dumble?

I had been playing Zeppelin since I was a child, I went through my little hard rock/metal episode for a few years in my late teens (16-19) but when I was 19 or 20 I went back to my roots and started in on the blues, some Zep, and Skynyrd. I learned that till I was blue then picked up live at the Fillmore and my life has been better since

@roselandalvin True, I read in a guitar world where Dickey said numerous times they would be getting interviewed or asked about a solo and they would always direct it to Duane like he wrote 100% of the lead and songs, Duane replied "There's two damn guitarist in the band so instead of asking me about a Dickey solo you should ask him yourself". Dickey said he was always sticking up for him and praising his playing, no wonder he wrote In memory of Elizabeth Reed enough said.

I've talked to Sonny a couple of times after shows. He is one of the nicest people I've ever met. We stood around in the street and talked guitars, music,women etc until 2:30 in the morning. He is a true gentleman and a fantastic musician.
