muslims of then started off by compiling information first and then improving on it. in doing so they came across greek philosophers works in alexandria (put there by alexander). they first spent time understanding that stuff and then championed it. taking greek science and adding the concept of 'proof' to it, as opposed to 'it just happens'. Now, Arabs use the Indian symols (numerals) and the westerners use the Arab invented symols.

whith out islam and muslim scholare we would all have been barbarians, they have given us the cornerstones of the modern world that we will in today...and there are people calling muslims terrorists. they'd be surprised once they realize islam was the cause of ther intellect. the actual english numerals even came from muslims

Zero was probably not a Muslim invention, even though they used the idea a lot. It was invented in India, as far as I know.

Nope, Zero was not invented in India there are many wild theories about "zero" But most historians now believe it was invented by Arabs. But some also believe it was in use by Egyptians long before Islamic Arabs.
