  • WOW

  • .........they act like GOD and thinks they know it all!!!

  • ......what Jesus and Scientists had in common?

  • damn so 100billionX200billion=20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 sextillion stars that's a lot of stars that just makes me wonder how many other civilizations are out there in the different parts of the universe that we will never get to know about. just imagine all the things that are out there yet to be discovered..... i think im going to go crazy thinking of this stuff dammit

  • i thought mars was after mercuery then earth....wtf

  • jesus is bull shit. if u do some research about jesus ie having been born on the 25th dec, born by a virgin ,, having 3 kings see him, 12 diciples, creat miricles like heal the sick. u will ee that there has been shit loads of people in the past before him with the same attributes over and over again. its bull shit. 3 kings are stars. its all astroligy wich is true, trying to turn it into a story for people to believe in.

  • How cowardly, to produce the first 7 minutes and 40 seconds only as an excuse to spew your religious crap right at the end. The ancients HAD no science to offer an opposing view to their religion, but YOU... what kind of a stubborn mind can go through that whole thing, whose whole point is obviously to subvert the classic video "powers of 10", and at the end utter nonsense about how the ancient tribal god (from when they thought the Earth was the center of the universe) is bigger than all that!

  • It's so mind boggling to think that the universe never ends, how so...And if it ends, what's behind it?

  • see how big everything is, why even worry. DONT WORRY BE HAPPY

  • there is an accurate method of measuring the size of the universe its an equation involving the hubble constant

  • Yes this is absolutely accurate. If you go to the end of the universe you reach the edge where you fall off and then theres all these seamonsters swimming around that eat your space ship. Also dinosaurs never existed.

  • I hate you for this video. You are so not educated.

  • i don't understand , stupid question but can someone answer this ; is there alot of suns or just one ?

  • @bads482 =) there are Billion and billion and billion of stars... there are billion and billion galaxies... each galaxy got billion and billion of starts in it!... so just to give an example. there are 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 stars... (not accurate number but just to give an example=)

  • @juicybumcrack looool thanks i get the idea now

  • @bads482 There is only one sun, the sun is the name we give to our closest star, that big thing that lights up our day. It sits in the middle of our solar system & our planet spins round it.

Now you know the sun is a star, there are trillions of stars out there, some smaller, some bigger & brighter than our own star the sun. Although you can see thousands of stars in the night sky the next closest one to us is 24,635,923,200,000 miles away. By car at 100mph would take you 28,123,200 years.

  • @Coppertunes Sol actually, not sun. Sol is the name we give to our closest star. Hence 'the solar system', which is why I grimace whenever someone in a show like Stargate for instance talks about blowing up "a solar system" rather than "a star system". It would be like referring to all countries as "canadas". "What's the canada to the west of Spain?" "Why, that canada is called Portugal." Sun, however, is a general term. Though THE sun refers to Sol.

But what REALLY annoys me is your precision!

  • @medexamtoolsdotcom No problem, I know it's Sol, but the guy was talking of the sun, I was keeping it as simple & understandable as possible within the 450 characters that we are allowed !

  • @bads482 well a sun is just a star that is the centre of a planetary system such as our own solar system. So there are probably countless billions of suns in the universe.

  • Come on people be realistic, we are NOTHING in relation to the universe, not even an atom. The idea that this entire universe has ANYTHING to do with us is arrogant and ridiculous. Religion was an early attempt at controlling the masses, laws more or less. But no human wants to take orders from another human, but you make up a story about an invisible man that watches everything you do and act like you really believe in it, the next generation will follow. Our lives are really just a con.

  • @rsmith1240

Now that I have accepted this fact over the past few days I've been considering my own existence. I don't even know if I'm alive or if I died before I came out of the woom and this is a dream from my mind. My brain can't handle thinking about whats out in space or how small we are, my head hurts and I want a break. I'm going insane.

  • (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise.

THE HOLY QURAN 2-The Heifer (Al-Baqarah) 164 and also in RİSALEİ NUR COLLECTİON BY Bediuzaman Said Nursi

  • Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;-

  • is this an old version?

  • So basically, turn on your space screensaver and let it run for thousands and even billions of years and you still havent gotten to the edge of space. Infinite time in space just blows my mind.

  • ... ... The 7 year Tribulation ( The Revelation of Jesus Christ: Revelation - Chapter 1:1 - 22:21 in a K.J.V. Bible ) was recorded by one of God's holy apostles ( the apostle John, on the island of Patmos - II Peter 1:11-21; Psalm 19:7-11; 119:1-176 ) ... ... "The Proof" that Jesus Christ is God The Son ( The Second Person of The Godhead - Family ), Who became a man ( The Second, The Last Adam - Phil. 2:5-13; I Cor.15:1-58 )... WE are very soon to SEE with our own EYES... So read it ALOT, be P

  • Thank you Jesus. That is all.

  • @Sonolumino8939 Don't go giving credit where credit isnt due. Some jew 2000 years ago is SO not responsible for the universe, you fucking pinhead.

  • Oh dear God, this is the most fantastic video of my life!

  • 'Religion tells us how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go'

    Galileo

  • 'Religion tells us how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go'

    Galileo

  • @beaman1981 Galileo had no idea, haha, he would have shit his pants, hahaha!

  • ALL ancient cultures have stories of the "creator" "stretching" the sky. Westerners alluding to mostly their own pre-scientific stories making it sound like those who write the bible (or the Scrolls) & the characters in it had a better sense of the cosmos. That's just not so. Like all simpler, ancient people/stories, for every nifty, plausible scenario the bible has, it has 10 or more dubius ones. Cherry picking is a terrible way to tell stories for adults, especially for the more educated ones.

  • Jaw drop.

    Wow.

  • 7:43 kills it

  • Puts shit into perspective. Have you seen the price of bread lately? No God, no afterlife, boo hoo. I still want to know what's at the edge of the universe. Nothing is still something.

  • 100 billion galaxies x 200 billion stars in each = 20 sextillion stars.. the sun is just 1... intelligent life elsewhere is a given

  • hmmmm...... jesus is like a god's son but.....

i dont really believe it after this vid

wtf this phrase made me feel small really really small

    1:30 - 1:50

    i swear sht

  • i hope that the aliens will not ruin the universe, as we ruin this world

  • I got a traffic ticket in the cosmos too on that trip. Darn space police! The universe police are much tougher so I guess in a way I was lucky they didn't stop me. The prices of antimatter have risen so much too. The anti matter companies are running the universe it seems.

  • Scientists estimate that the Universe is about 93-trillion lights years across while we can only see about a spec of it from Earth. Earth and it's solar system is a spec of a spec of a spec compared to the Universe

  • without faith the religion wouldn't work. The idea is to Believe and have faith that god exists and that Jesus died for our Sins. Not to be Sure that he exists and to Know that he died for our sins. thats how you get into heaven is to not deny the name of god and that his only son died for our sins. I dont have any hard evidence that he exists. but if you have ever felt the presence of god you wouldn't need any proof.

    Peace.

  • @verifyguy: How do you know it wasn't the presence of Thor? Or Shiva? Zeus? Or the flying spaghetti monster, for that matter? Or a different god we aren't even aware of? How do you know there is a god? Or that your god is the right one? Or even that there's only one? Faith isn't proof. Faith is blind obedience and willful, intentional ignorance.

  • when i say god i use that as an example for all gods/ religions. i just stress that god thing cuz thats what i beleive makes the most sence. but all in all the one thing i'm sure about is that our universe didn't fall into place by random chance (that big bang theory.

  • do you think that god offered his son to be killed just for us stuppid humans think about it

  • Good video except for all the god crap. Our univeerse is simply breathtaking.

  • Ohhh, guys, come on !!! Who is Jesus ? Can anyone explain me ! Let's talk only based on facts, not ficiton please.

  • jesus is a guy who used to yell a lot at other people, thats why there are a lot of exclamation marks in the bible

  • Yeah you kinda right bu you have to understand and respect that religion is about faith, not about facts or reality.

I'm not arguing or anything but just respect people and their beliefs...

    :) :P

  • @HeyaheySpace what fact, don't you think they would have included it in the bible when they chose those books. Please. Besides what fact are you wanting. The bible was written way after he lived. Darn guess he couldn't write. Ya think the son of god could write something down. O well.

  • @HeyaheySpace

    hi heyahey,

Jesus is right beside you!!!He is just waiting for you to accept him..He is sitting right next to you..Can't you see Him?.Ok , its the Book called The Holy Bible, that is what I am talking about:. and you heyahey will know Him I am talking about Jesus and you will be a friend of Him.. That's how you will know Jesus..

  • @HeyaheySpace You are Jesus, you are part of this enormous universe that awaits for you when you die, God bless!

  • @HeyaheySpace Why ask here? Check your Bible.

  • @VitoBandito1 What is the bible, please define it ? if you can...

  • @KoolMkey The Bible is the Word of God that was given to the Prophets of old by God. There was always religion before Jesus Christ. God was displeased because these religions decided how God would be worshipped. There were false prophets who for a price would sell you information about matters in your life that were supposedly from God but they were liars. So, God revealed His Word to His chosen Prophets with instruction on how to worship Him correctly in the only way He would accept.

  • @VitoBandito1 Don't go giving credit where credit isnt due. Some jew 2000 years ago is SO not responsible for the universe, you fucking pinhead.

  • @toobularbells How do you know that, loser?

  • @VitoBandito1 Because i have an IQ over room temperature, retard

LMFAO The Old testament? yer a fucking moron

  • @toobularbells And I'm gonna take a white wannabe gangsta rapper blockhead's word over God's Word?

  • @VitoBandito1 Rap blows harder than you. & yer tha Bandito(gangsta),ya fkn tard.

    & whatever you've read is a MANS interpretation of a fable,moron.

ive had enough teaching retards for one day...buh bye

  • @toobularbells You told you that? Your crack dealer? Grow up, punk.

  • @VitoBandito1 Can you prove that Christ did not have a part in creation, beyond the shadow of a doubt; if you can generate absolute proof and show us absolute proof, then you can validate yourself. Can you accomplish this task, or are you only capable of critizising someone elses beliefs? Give us proof, Give us proof, Give us proof, that we are wrong?

  • @ZanyJIntPictures You got the wrong guy, dude.

  • @HeyaheySpace who is Jesus... who are you? Are you real? hate it when I see ppl say stop talking about God and stuff and yet they go and think it's ok to talk about God themselves and bash religion... wish you ALL would just shut up and watch the damn video.

  • @HeyaheySpace you wont get your answer until you die. end of story

  • What the hell are we really doing here?

Insignificant specks on an insignificant speck.

  • What was with the duks at the end?, do they know the answer?

  • Dolo,

    What atheists "mock" science?

While I'm sure one can find xtians who have advanced science, for the most part religion has gotten in the way of science advancements and continues to do so; with perhaps the exception of weapons.

Until we have some evidence for the metaphysical, then why fool myself into believing it holds some power that can benefit my life, or post-life?

Yes, mindless forces 'greater' than man, caused the universe, SO?

  • HOW has Religion gotten in the way of "science" IF anything Religion has gotten in the way of ALL Humans getting along. How do you KNOW theres no creator? theres NO other life form out there that has told us other wise.

a Book written by some Gay Atheist doesnt prove anything, Neither does the Bible.

No one Knows, just a bunch of dickheads that think they know Everything.

  • Metal,

    1. Many sects of religion, even today, try and interfere with the advancement of science.

e.g. ID being taught in schools in lieu of the ToE.

    2. I never said I "know" there is no creator, but rather that I see zero evidence for one.

    3. Which "gay atheist" are you referring to, that wrote a book; that you obviously hate?

No atheist or scientist, ever said "they know everything", for that is indeed the realm and folly of many theists.

    ATF

  • atheist - people learning Religion in school isnt & wont slow down Scientific advancments.

    2. Most Atheists do say it.

    3. im not sure watch the Amazingfaggot

    I meen the Amazingatheists videos.

anyway this video is Awsome I would love to Travel & see this stuff, I know next to impossible but it would be cool

  • Metal,

    2. Then you and I know very different 'atheist'. They may however, say that the bible god doesn't exists, as advertised by that holy book, as it simply can't.

    3. How would you know if this 'amazinggatheists' is gay? (I have no idea who this is btw)

In some USA states, religion very much likes to suppress science...Where are you at?

  • It never ceases to amaze me, that most people will look in awe at the universe (rightfully so), but then some of these people, just blindly jump to a conclusion that assumes it must have had some kind of intelligent creator.

While we have a long way to go in our understanding of the universe, so far all the "rocks we've turned over", have not pointed to anything remotely indicating a god made everything.

If anything, quite the opposite has happened as we've grown smarter about the universe.

  • You speak of men like Isaac Newton, whom without your understanding might be so little that you be a deist yourself . Do not be so quick to condemn the metaphysical. What is agreed by both the theologian and the atheist is that forces greater than Man created the Universe; the difference is that the God-faring man has at least learned humility, amongst other truths not necessarily of lesser importance than facts. Many religious men have advanced science, while many atheists merely mock it.

  • Dolo,

I don't know any atheists that would mock science. We must travel in very different circles?

"Forces greater than ourselves", as you put it, does not equal a 'god'.

There is no proof of the metaphysical or that it is taking an active part in our Earthly lives etc..

I was once a deist, which really means I once couldn't make up my mind about gods.

    ATF

  • To your first response, I suggest a more thorough familiarization with the term _mock_ (which I grant I used in uncommon context). To the second, your statement is irrelevant as I was not attempting to determine the existence of a god but demonstrate a comparison of likeness between theologian and atheist. To the third, your statement is false; metaphysics absolutely exist and are an extremely important aspect of human life--again I suggest better familiarization, with the term _metaphysics_.

  • Dolo,

    1. Are you saying that atheists mock (as in copy) the science, that theologians discovered?

    2. Please define "greater", as in your use of "forces greater than man". If not a 'god' type force, then what, as is that a blind-force or intelligent one?

    3. First you have to prove metaphysics is part of OUR reality, before you can say it's "extremely important"; other than folks chasing after a big nothing with great fervor.

    ATF

  • "There is no proof of the metaphysical or that it is taking an active part in our Earthly lives etc.." This is because you refuse to see it. With people like you God could stand in front of you and you would deny His existence. It is better to believe and not ever find out that there is nothing (mainly because in therory you would go into nothingness and therefore never know) than to not believe and find out there is something, at least it makes one feel content.

  • Pats,

I suppose that I "deny" this god like you go around "denying" those infamous pink unicorns orbiting Uranus?

Granted, if some higher being stood in front of me, my first thought would be of an advanced space alien and not some creator god.

So while my 'bar' may be high for extraordinary claims (as it should be), folks like yourself will buy into any evidence that has it's 'bar' at the height of an ant hill.

Funny how that type of ant-hill evidence never holds up to scrutiny though

  • You need to much evidence, it is hard to find more evidence than there already has been, but you deny the evidence itself. You, in essence, are guaranteed not to find evidence because of this fact.

  • Pats:"You need to much evidence"

    Too much?

No, I just ask for the same evidence for any gods, as I would for anything else of the extraordinary.

Settling for less evidence, or weak evidence, can lead one to believing in just about anything that catches one's 'fancy'.

This lame method is why we've had so many gods invented in our history and why the woo-woo folks are still with us today.

God knows what evidence I require, so tell him to provide it, okay.

    ATF

  • Why do you need evidence? You have it. Jesus came, was nailed to a crucifix, and came back from the dead. What more evidence do you need? Everything you have been given you deny.

  • pats:"Why do you need evidence? You have it. Jesus came.."

No, YOU have your weak "evidence" in all this, where I don't see your 'evidence', as reliable at all, but nothing much better than hearsay and legend.

    You say jesus came.

I say, where is your secular evidence that he did?

You say he was nailed to a cross and rose from the dead.

Again I say, other than your bible legend, where is the evidence these events actually took place in history?

    You lack this evidence !

  • lol, he came. There are outside witnesses to the fact he came.

  • pats,

Sorry to inform of this sad fact, but not one ancient historian that wrote about the xtians in that era, ever laid eyes on a walking/talking jesus.

In fact, most of the historians that you xtians tend to cite as evidence, were ppl who lived long after jesus.

Worse, not one of those 500 risen souls, ever penned anything about jesus raising them from their graves, nor did Mary or Joseph write anything down either.

St. Paul never knew a physical jesus either.

    You got NOTHING

    ATF

  • This is all according to you.

How do you explain the shroud of turin?

  • Pats,

No, this is not according to "me", but well-known fact. If you doubt any of what I said, then do your own research, as I did.

    Now, about this Shroud.

First off, it's a forgery, plain and simple.

I do keep up on updates of it, and it did recently make the news again, this time from some lady who wrote a book ($) and claims she can decipher some hidden text on it. The problem is this text is barely discernable, allowing one to make it read whatever one wishes it to.

    Next?

  • This is all according to you, not a well know fact.

IT was analyzed by these same scientists that come up with your hooplah and proven to be AUTHENTIC. You just deny everything with bullshit, don't you?

  • pats,

Where is your citation for these "scientists" that verified the shroud?

Are they xtians with an agenda, or secular scientists instead?

It's not up to me to disprove your miracle artifacts (or even miracles), but the burden is yours to prove they are real.

Hey, but keep enjoying your jesus fantasy, for as long as you can, but it will come to end, just as Santa does for every child.

    ATF

  • The Vatican did their own carbon testing on it and concluded it was highly unlikely it was from the time of Jesus Christ. What would the Bible, or any other religious book be without fear, submission, and nonsense stories? Like any other book-deal any nobody signs for instant attention. Gods do not write books -- men do.

  • First off God wrote the bible through the hands of man.

Second of all i think the idea of the universe being created by God or any other type of intelligent design is much more believable than all of existence coming together by shear chance.

The idea of all existence coming together by accident takes all purpose out of life as we know it.

Personally i believe we are here for a reason.

And third of all for people who need proof that god exists:

you will never find it because without faith...

  • I don't know whether or not God exists; neither do you. Your faith in religion is the ability to make a virtue out of not thinking - nothing more. I'm willing to remain open to God's existence, since I can't definitely prove either, but it'll take more than the Bible to convince me. If all I have to go by is the old Jewish book of fairy tails filled with fear, submission, and future promises, then you have to ask yourself one question: What kind of a relationship with God can grow out of that?

  • Who is Jesus ?

  • @patsfanczar @HeyaheySpace You are Jesus, you are part of this enormous universe that awaits for you when you die, God bless!

Then again, civilizations without our comprehension!

But we wil be there and be thy, for other planets, for other people, we will teach them about God, will they call us Jesus? Who cares, we will make them smile!

  • @iluvium I can't figure out whether your just an extremely happy person or whether you're on some kind of strong medication. Your comments didn't make much sense.

  • "Everything you have been given you deny."

All we have been given is a book written by some people which is not an evidence at all.

  • This is truth, not fiction. You are a moron.

  • IT IS FICTION....Its amazing how it sold more copies then Harry Potter and LOTR.

    You're A MORON!

  • At the end the narrator says something about the vastness of the universe "surely" surpassing human understanding. This kind of grandiloquent talk makes me suspicious of the motivations of the film makers. The sun rising and falling was once beyond human understanding, as was microscopic life, radio waves, DNA, etc. Yet, we keep ogling about things we have yet to explain as if they are unexplainable, and plugging in a god as the obvious filler of the gap.

  • We STILL do this, even after all we have unlocked so many of the so-called mysteries of the universe. We may very well never achieve an understanding of all things, but in our time on this planet we have achieved an amazing lot of it. To wave our hands at the rest, and casually say that it is beyond our understanding, is pathetically insular and narrow-minded. THAT is what boggles my mind.

  • @mistermellow001 what you say makes fuckin sense!..

  • @mistermellow001 Exactly, it was that single comment he made that made me slightly concerned about the motive of the documentary. Especially in making a direct reference to a creator as if it has to be the case!

  • @jesal21 It's so we go beyond in our daily chores, hahaha, fantastic!

  • @mistermellow001 actually the more we discover about DNA, microscopic life, the cosmos ..the more we see the grand design of all things! and design requires a designer!

  • It's the first time I've seen this new version of the "Edge of the universe" video. To be fair, some of the original criticisms have been answered.

But all the religious babble that it entwines itself around... why??? And why don't the creators of this video identify themeselves on it??

I've also got some logic problems with the video: if the universe is infinite, there are an infinite number of stars, an infinite number of galaxies... so what's the deal with telling us their number?

  • Space and time is infinite, but most believe that the big bang only created matter that spans 26 billion light years across.

  • Do you really think that?

I think you'll find this is just known as the "Observable Universe". The universe is thought to be 13 billion years (or so) old; which means if we look to the left, the furthest we can possibly see is 13 billion light years, and look to the right, we see the same.

But most big-bang proponents believe the big bang didn't happen at a point in space (there was no space), but that it happened everywhere at the same time.

  • Well this subject discussed here is older then any living creature on earth, so we shall never ever fully understand how it all started. Unless we meet some super smart alien creature that 13 billion years away from us either in the future or the past. Untill then, we shall not FULLY understand everything. However this subject is very interresting..

  • Infinite is like an circle, it all starts over again at some point...

  • also i have 2 theories id like to get off my chest...well why is it always the edge of the universe why cant it never end makes just as much sense as it ending...also this is kinda farfetched but what if the universe is just an atom to rediculously giant life and our atoms are actually universes since evrything in the universe would be impossible to see through any microscope if it was an atom

  • I've thought the same. It's interesting to me that at the atomic level things matter is "small solar systems". I also think that it's a man-made concept of CREATION. As human beings we create beginnings and ends for everything. I lean towards multiple big bangs, and possible even "big collapses", in an infinite universe.

We have created time, beginnings, and ends.

  • "human beings we create beginnings and ends for everything." This sounds like you disconnect humans from everything. I mean everything. Its like you don't think humans are a r part of the natural world or something. Is that true. We're not as a part of nature as dandelion?

  • Actually I'm connecting humans to time, not disconnecting them. My point still stands, time is a philosophical concept constructed by humans. My point is that because we have beginnings and ends we think that EVERYTHING including the universe must also. If a dandelion could think and construct notions I think they would agree :}

  • atleast 100,000 years after they get a camera to travel lightspeed we'll all have a beautiful real picture of our galaxy to hang on our wall

  • Nice!

  • I love all this stuff it makes you think how we arnt all that important in the universe after all.great vid.

  • physics GCSE, here i come !

  • The universe and science proves that God doesn't exist.Although i i believe in God myself. The question of whether we are alone in the universe or not is too stupid a question to ask considering the size of it.

  • Naomi... what sense does your comment make? "The universe and science proves that God doesn't exist. Although I believe in God myself."

What?? So according to you, as God exists, the universe and science doesn't exist? What business have you got making YouTube entries if you don't exist? Doh.

  • It was my opinion which i am entitled to.whether you understand what i said or not is not my fault.Go and be a know it all on someone elses comment.I really don't care about your hair splitting iq. fuck off.

  • that was fantastic, thank you for share it

  • The Edge of the universe.

This is one of the best Explinations I've sofar seen and it sounds like the universe is far beyond mans dream, a never ending story. that still continues when wevé stoped existing and dreaming. The dream will still go on.

  • check out Mathematical proof of a Creator...under superwhuffo1

  • Chaos math can prove ANYTHING. I could just as easily argue that the likely-hood that the gold on my finger, at this place, at this time, is a miracle. Even me writing you when I could have written ANYONE else on youtube is a miracle right? WRONG!!! Math arguments on creationism have been debunked LONG ago. One cannot state that because we label things as intricate, and there are more labels on one thing than another, that one is "more" complex. Complexity is a philosophical notion in this
