Glad to hear she's safe and didn't land up ashore on some island that disappears and reappears during different periods of time with hatches and a black smoke monster.
Why should the parents of this 16 year old girl hold the exact same safety values as the people judging them? What makes a safe life that is marginally longer more valuable then a short one in which an individual was able to pursue their own personally constructed purpose? If safety for you or your teenage child is the most important thing to for you, fine there is nothing wrong with that. But to try to impose your own personal values onto the parents and more importantly the kid is nauseating.
The question is not how many adults have the guts, the question is how can you let your 16 year old sail knowing the risks and knowing she may not come back home. Now she's in the hands of sailors and hopefully she will be ok. But I would never let my 16 year old out at sea alone period. How can the parents let this happen? They should be jailed for child endangerment.
Even if I was rich, I wouldn't let my 16 year old daughter sail around the world alone. I wouldn't sacrifice her safety for a publicity stunt. Can you imagine the guilt of a normal parent if she'd have died? These whacko parents will probably encourage her to do it again.
@JimboVids what if its just her dream to do it and the child is actually equiped to take care of herself in that matter all children arnt the typicall tars
Failure Epic. Rich parents created more taxpayer bail out to recuse her unsuccessful around the world mission. This is more of balloon boy publicity stunt enforced by her rich parents.
Can't wait for more nutcase parents to do the same.
I hope the Australian government sends them the bill for the search and rescue. I can think of better ways of spending money than on rich teenagers fulfilling their selfish dreams...

I agree with @ocf1fan1 her parents need to pay the rescue! @dcjhrf if you view it that way then her parents need to reimburse me for my share!
deronrb 1 year ago
Her parents really need to pay all of the bills & expenses for the rescue work. It's their fault for letting her do this in the first place anyways.

@ocf1fan1 her parents have prepaid this rescue through a lifetime of paying taxes..
