@coffeeBEAT If these are Southern Elephant Seals, then they just plain don't know that humans are something that can hurt them. The living ranges of humans and Southern Elephant Seals don't overlap enough for them to have learned that humans are something dangerous. The babies probably just think he's a very funny-looking and novel thing and they want to investigate.
