Yes, just make perfectly sure not to interrupt the dark cycles. Pitch-black dark. Interrupting the light is fine, in fact; if the room gets too-hot midday shutting-off some or all lights is a viable alternative to "cooking" a crop.

don't just go from 18/12 to 12/12 just to speed up the process,you'll get shit flowers if it's not ready for flowering,believe me it's worth the wait, patience is everything when it comes to growing weed,i would give it 6 weeks vegetating before flowering, remember to adjust the distance of your lights from the plants as they grow upwards

the plants need 12 to 13 hours of darkness in order to start flowering. if they are in pots you can put them in a closet at night and then take them out in the morning at the same time that it's getting dark or you can cover the plants with dark trash bags if you can't move em. usually takes about a week.you can stop the treatment once most of the new growth is buds.
