Thanks! Yeah, I'd actually never heard the song before. I was just going through songs I had, looking for one for this video, and I stumbled across this one. It is a great fit!
And I never got a notification from YouTube. I only saw your comment here because I happened to go into this video after I uploaded my new one a little bit ago. Good thing! :-)
also, if you look at that map, you see an outer trail, which runs near the surrounding streets, and then a fainter inner trail (which is obscured by trees, which is why it's fainter on the map). It's that inner trail that the ride was filmed on.
it's in the middle of mid-town manhattan. it's called "Central Park." Nah, just kidding... It's at a small place called the Colleyville Nature Center. I love it there. maps(dot)google(dot)com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=32.876316,-97.167099&spn=0.004451,0.013561&t=h&z=17&om=1
Wowsers!! What a great video! I've been wanting to go out biking again for such a LONG time! And perrrrfect music for it too! I'll never have to leave my house again if you keep making these! LoL! I hope all is well with ya man! Take it easy! And it's been great getting to know you better!
Thanks, so much, Tom!! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, you gotta get out. I love going on dirt trails. This one's kinda short; but there's a lake not too far from my house which has a killer dirt trail around it. Great workout and beautiful. Been great getting to know you too! If you're ever in Dallas/Fort Worth, we'll go riding together.
You totally do pwn me when it comes to biking and filming at the same time!! You've got traffic to deal with, and you've got those cool shots of your feet pedaling, and the "handlebar basket cam," and the face shots (not to mention the shots of *both your hands* on the handlebar, as well as the shots of you riding towards and away from the camera)! I'm totally pwned!! :-)
You know, though I had watched your biking video a long, long time ago, I had totally forgotten about it. (Sorry!!! :-( ) So maybe, on an unconscious level, your video, and not Karen's, was my inspiration! Just in case, and to give credit where credit is due, I gave you a mention in the video description. (Expect your subscriber base to jump by 20% now... :-) )
Re. Bernie: if he's not sure which way to go, he stays behind me. But if he does go ahead and picks the wrong way, then he just doubles back and catches up. You can see at the end of that Bernie segment him looking back a little to see if I was still behind him. He does that from time to time.
Re. favorite parts, mine are: the burst of sunlight at the beginning (actually spent a fair amount of time trying to get that lined up with the song -- didn't come out as good as it did in my pre-uploaded version); Bernie running; and the fade-out at the end of the song.
Wow, cool idea. :D Thanks for making this.

Hey, Jorgie! Just saw this comment. There was a period of time when I wasn't getting any notifications from YouTube, so I missed this comment. :-(
Glad you got a chance to watch it. I fell off 10 times! (Just kidding. :-) )

This is really nice, nrgins - peaceful. Just what I need right now, thank you. :) And the Jars Of Clay song fits perfectly, I think. Fav'ed.
Favorite parts: seeing Bernie run ahead of you (does he always choose which way you go?), and seeing your pedaling shadow in a patch of sunlight.

Thanks! Yeah, that song did work well. I was surprised at how well it fit, both with words and tempo.

Yes, agreed: the fadeout was good; well-timed.

nice! i've done this before too, except i had the camera taped to my bike, and it looks like yours is on your head. lol
where did you film this?
inajar2006 4 years ago
haha! Yeah, holding it on the handlebar, it does tend to get a bit bumpy.
