@KingManga358 Windows Defender and Security Essentials are completely different programs. Defender is for spyware purposes while security essentials is for viruses.
THe only bad part about MSSE is that it will not scan a USE UNLESS you stick it in and do a full scan. Read what it days. It will scan stuff, but only when doing a FULL scan. THat its slow doing that.

I had a pirate verision of windows xp long time ago I downloaded avg and something got my (windows xp pirate) detected as pirate and probobly banned so I had to buy win 7 :(
Also a good anti-virus if you play games and don't want lag due to lag. GREAT anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-rogue, anti-trojan, anti-everything محمد اؤزى
@88alder1 thats what i was wondering. because i have kasperky and microsoft essentials. i think there is no problem with two. i tihkn it might be a good thing because if one cannot find a virus. you have the other to use and find it. so i think it makes it a stronger protection.
I need help, i got hacked through facebook, and it deleted my Microsoft Security Essentials.. and everytime i logon to MSN or Facebook, it sends the link to the virus to everyone whos online.. And that's how it spreads over the internet someone sent it to me.
So i reinstalled MS Essentials and after i restarted my comp it was gone again..
@KuliJens do it again, i was having problems with mine and i try again and again and i found my old one on my computer and i install over the old version and upgrade it again to the new
itS A virus, thats why it wants u to remove ur anti virus so u can install this one and get the tojan when u apply the supposed severe threat it found.
@Gavsta40 I heard its best to just have one AV on at a time, u have 2? will it slow my pc down if i install this MSE, cuz i used to have NORTON AND AVG and it slowed my internet down a bit, so i uninstalled both and have only my firewall which is done great so far??
Trust me AVG is better than Microsoft security Essential you watch any videos and compare them and you'll see that AVG is better but the best i would say is Comodo and Immunet and panda cloud
@Designing5 AVG has very low detection rates compared to almost all of the other anti virus products. It also takes up a shit load of ram and it won't shut the fuck up about it's pro version. It used to be good, but now you must move on.
At present, Nod 32 is the best pro anti virus in the market and Microsoft Security Essentials is the best free security product in the community.
what do you guys think of avira?? i mean it's currently the no.1 free antivirus is MSE really that good but is just not noticed or is dis a fanboy thing/
@Little1know1it1all1 Well i haven't really used Avira but i have used AVG Free and Avast free antivirus and i think MSE is the best free antivirus PS:Sorry for my hard to understand English :D
VERY IMPORTANT !!!! you must have windows original with genuine, to install this antivirus. if u see , is it necesary to validate your copy of windows
anti malwarebytes found 2 worms that this program skipped over. unfortunately i somehow, with a fresh install of windows 7, have 2 worm.taterf infections. Luckily anti malwarebytes found that. Now just need to figure out how to get rid of it
@idodo60 agree because usibg advance is only gonna give microsoft more info to make their products better for example all the beta they have been doing including windows 7
I recently had my laptops hardrive wiped because of viruses... When I went to the computer store and got it back, I was surprised that they hadn't installed AVG, but WSE. They said that AVG is getting "fat." Just goes to showya
I've tried Norton for the longest time, followed by Mcafee and AVG. For comparison I personally think norton is the best, followed by MS security essentials, and then the rest.
Tryed and it can't compere with my BIS, it don't even have a firewall and it's not 100% protection. Know I'm using it only for scaning. I only set the MsMpSvc service on manual and disabled msseces from msconfig, becouse i don't need it to load at startup. And after I finish scaning I have to close it manualy with Ctrl+Alt+DEL just end msseces and MsMpEng processes
Norton is picky alot of things that arnt viruses will just bother you cause Norton says its a threat. this is better because its 1.free 2.awsome 3.doesnt bother you 4.doesnt slow your computer
@hdgamevideos1 Norton says website are dangerous when they aren't, It blocks everything on your computer, i know this because I had Norton on my computer and it blocked Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, MSN etc also when i did get my browsers to work i couldnt get on YouTube or any other website exept from google, also the scans use up your CPU so your computer becomes stupidly slow.
Microsoft Security Essentials may not be the best but it's good and free. Avast is a fair free one too. If you can't afford protection just research the free AV's, firewalls etc and try them. None of them may be the best but something for protection is better than nothing for protection. Also use firefox with the add-ons WOT & No-Script. Those two add-ons will help keep you safe some too.
@Salil9992 Why? The whole point of the video was that Norton is using way too many resources and often times bogging your computer down unnecessarily.
@raymondleeleggs I'm wondering if you notice any slow performance coz MSE and Malwarebytes did not seem to get along well in my PC so I had to uninstall Malwarebyte and now it works faster. Just a thought.
@ibenzawla Malwarebytes, at least on my rig, doesn't even make a dent in performance. It's like it's not even there. I'd look into other stuff that's going on with your computer.

But it's pretty wierd that free anti-virus has better protection than 50 euros/month costing anti-virus... :D
Question: If AVG has more processes doesnt that mean its running more programs to keep you safe? (By the way, Im not really computer smart, so dont yell at me if Im wrong)
Dude, you do not want to have MSE and AVG at the same time, they are 2 GREAT Antivirus programs that could take up a lot of space, confuse your CPU, and slow your computer more than a 600 lb man running a 40 yard dash. :)
NO ONE SAID THAT YOU HAD BOTH!!!! DID I SAY THAT? NO! I was just telling you in a wonderfully nice way what life would be like with two programs running such as those.
i know what happens, one time i had 3 anti-virus on one computer and 2 ant-malware,i am not a idiot i have experience,hard-core windows user,i am so hard-core i overclocked a computer that did not support overclocking,i know what happens
Why are you telling me that you are not an idiot? Did I think you were or something? If you have so much experience, then why are you asking people on youtube, the millions, if you should get AVG? That does not quite click with me. No offense intended. How was I supposed to know if you were an amateur user or a "hardcore" one. I was only trying to help. Next time, when someone tried to help you, don't freak.
I have an HP HDX 16 laptop. I Upgraded to the free Windows 7 upgrade and said what the heck. I uninstalled AVG Free version and then installed this. So far I have had zero issues. I will run this for a while and check it out before I move back to AVG Free if needed. It looks like Microsoft is on the ball all over the downsides that plagued Windows version prior. I salute Microsoft. This is a good step toward that postiive image Microsoft should convey to it's investors. A++
i did this yesterday and it didnt have a trojan the only thing that is detecting it is Nprotect the game virus shield or what ever.... and when i scan with shield deluxe
2009 i dont have it when i want to play sudden attack or wolf team just crashes my computer then it just resets then i delete it the next time it happend nprotect said they found a virus called trojan
Is nprotect your anti virus program? I think nprotect is a virus itself because ive never heard of it. A lot of times it seems like its an antivirus program but im pretty sure that mprotect is a trojan itself. So remove nprotect first, install security essentials, and run a full system scan.
my-god Microsoft brings to us every thing we wish for....

mse is the best. iv'e never had any problem with it (i use p2p a lot). i really trust it.you should try it.
everytime i buy a new pc i sell the antivirus that come wth it and install mse.
it's really light. dosen't use a lot of memory
in the new version you can limit the cpu to any percentage you want.
you shouldn't be paying for antivirus.

But it's pretty wierd that free anti-virus has better protection than 50 euros/month costing anti-virus... :D

@ibenzawla IE9 is another nice example of that.

i have MSSE might now, should i get AVG?
FrankieJames7 2 years ago
Dude, you do not want to have MSE and AVG at the same time, they are 2 GREAT Antivirus programs that could take up a lot of space, confuse your CPU, and slow your computer more than a 600 lb man running a 40 yard dash. :)
weatherman306 2 years ago
who said i had both,i use MSE only, never used AVG,only norton(mistake)360 security 2008 then to MSE

Should You Get AVG? = YES
Should You Get AVG w/ MSE? = Not Recommended.

2009 i dont have it when i want to play sudden attack or wolf team just crashes my computer then it just resets then i delete it the next time it happend nprotect said they found a virus called trojan
slayerfido2 2 years ago
Is nprotect your anti virus program? I think nprotect is a virus itself because ive never heard of it. A lot of times it seems like its an antivirus program but im pretty sure that mprotect is a trojan itself. So remove nprotect first, install security essentials, and run a full system scan.
silverstonewebcam 2 years ago
nprotect is a game protecter when i wanna play sudden attack crashes cause of the trojan and i still dnt know what to do
