The film was pretty entertaining for a short. It's sometimes hard to get all your points across in a 5 minute film, but you can definitely see the "SHIFT" in personalities in all the characters in the film.
The script...over done. Done scamming? yet driver scams "friend" haven't turned over new leaf! Why film so dark? Characters not seem real. The one who had the bat. first he was gung ho. then timid. then he turns into a thief. While the other one with the golf club...he was all over the place too. It is the script's fault. Actors not believable except for the large fellow who is also in the reel stuff. This actor shows reel (get the pun?) promise if film were tweaked it may be salvaged
There was a lot more to the script than what is shown here. The character with the bat was supposed to be a coward, (all bark no bite). He was all talk, showing off to his friend, but when he has the opportunity to confront the guys he chickens out(takes the easy way out to avoid confrontation, but still looks like a badass infront of his friend)..meanwhile the other guy has sort of the opposite effect(the pussy grows some balls)..thus the name SHIFT!!
Your editing on this really helped keep the pace up Joe. Still feels long in the dialog though, mabey could stand to lose a minuet or so of conversation.
