But, the White House should have hired a press secretary who won’t make reporters and viewers at home hungry upon seeing his name. @blueshade26 Actually, it's more like..."I'm Jay Carney, I'm not with the "inner circle" as Gibbs was. Which means I don't have any where near the access that Gibbs did." This also means that he doesn't have anywhere near the level of arrogance that Gibbs had either. He gives an answer but he doesn't do "give and take" because he has no clue how to do it.

He's explaining to reporters what his job is... Some of'em have been reporters for the last 20 years. I'm sure they know what his job is. Gibbs was not that brilliant but he knew how to defflect questions. This guy doesn't have a clue. He's the face of the WH to the media. The 3 that I consider the best of our time would be Mike McCullum from the Bill Clinton era. Ari Fleischer and Tony Snow from Bush. These 3 were major league guys.

Apparently he was still collecting a paycheck for some time after he supposedly quit.
