How are you guys comparing Chevelle to Tool? Different tunings, different tones, different time signatures, different lyrical content...and Tool is on a whole different level as far as talent goes.

I love Chevelle as much as the next guy, but in no way can you compare them to Tool.

The only comparison I hear is the simple heavy guitar, bass, and drums format. Which is what I love about both bands. Maybe Pete's vocal style, but not his voice.

The good thing about Chevelle is that when they record, they record within their format of 1 guitar, 1 bass, and 1 set of drums. One part for each, and they distinguish all three instruments, by not overdubbing multiple parts. Their songs sound simple, yet heavy. In rock, less is definitely more.

Chenille are awesome but they are defiantly in my same category as tool and deftones. Category of F'ing awesome but sound similar. Along with seethed they are probably top of my favorite bands in the last ten years. Tool and deft ones are prior but that's irrelevant.

From the first time I heard this I knew it was a hit I hope they keep this sound it fits them so well. they are a one of a kind just like Led Zeppln, G-N-R, Alice IN Chains, Tool etc.. there are so many of the great ones out there I missed that just have that one of a kind sound that changes rock forever.
