Dude< I just got back from steamboat, and i should have watched this before i went, my body is soo sore and I obviously have no idea what i am doing. Does the suspensions of the sled matter cause i felt like the suspensions was so stiff i couldn't transfer the my weight.??
hey i know you switched to yamaha.. but did you have any luck with your 2008 xp 800? everybody said the clutches are bad engine are bad and what not is this stuff true? im looking at a 2008 xp 800 154 with 600 miles on it and i was wondering if i should take that over a 09 600 146 with 300 miles.. whats your opinion on those two options? does the xp hold up better than what people say?or does it just matter how you ride them or treat them? thanks you!
How deep does the snow have too be to be able to sidehill properly? And, if i have a sled with and older chassis, does that make it harder to sidehill?
its similar to riding a bike if it leans too far into the hill then you have to turn into the hill and you cant do this without deep powder that inside ski needs somewhere to sink

counter steer , no question. as long as the snow is deep enough and you want to maintain your height going across the hill you'll need to counter steer. you can also slightly adjust your skis and weight as you need to very easily.
I do a little of both to be honest. It is situation dependent. If I'm going snow counter steering seems to help get the turn started. Once I'm up to speed, I don't exaggerate the movement very much.
@slednx Dude you CAN not SIDEHILL without counter steering OK but there are times when you are sidehilling you may have the skiis straight for a short period before you start countersteering again. The More you counter steer the more you turn uphill the less you counter steer the more riding straight across slope you will do.
@slednx Dude in deep powder you have to counter steer. other wise you will turn down hill. It is like riding a motorcycle you must counter sterr to turn when you want to .
that snow is crazy i was watching this cuz i got dikes by my house and get huge drifts and somtimes to get around a ditch you have to try this to get around it haha great tips man thanx

@IveGotTheNuts I agree totally but it is possible to hold a steady line with the skis straight.

hey another tip is to lean more into the hill so u can have break controll allowing u to slow down while staying in a sidehill.
